CCEA frequently asks candidates to explain how a river erodes, transports and deposits material. The four erosion processes are hydraulic action, abrasion, attrition and solution. Transportation includes traction, saltation, suspension and solution. Landforms such as waterfalls, gorges, meanders, oxbow lakes, floodplains and levees must be explained in sequence.
