For degree level study and above, the rules loosen. A UK Higher Education Provider with a strong compliance record can assess English proficiency itself, which means it may accept a regular IELTS Academic score, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic or an internal test. In that situation the 1990 RMB UKVI booking is not legally compulsory.
