📚 IGCSE CIE English: Creative Writing Revision Guide | IGCSE CIE 英语:创意写作考点精讲

Creative writing in the CIE IGCSE First Language English (0500) examination challenges you to produce an original, engaging, and well-structured piece of narrative or descriptive writing in a limited time. Unlike transactional writing, creative writing rewards imaginative flair, a confident command of language, and the ability to move your reader. This guide unpacks every key skill the examiners look for, from generating ideas and structuring a plot to using imagery and varied sentence rhythms.

CIE IGCSE 第一语言英语(0500)考试中的创意写作,要求你在有限时间内完成一篇原创、引人入胜且结构得当的叙事或描写性文章。与事务性写作不同,创意写作看重的是想象力、对语言的自信驾驭以及打动读者的能力。这份考点精讲将逐一拆解考官关注的每项核心技能,从构思立意、搭建情节到运用意象和变化句式节奏,一应俱全。

1. Understanding the Creative Writing Task | 理解创意写作任务

In CIE IGCSE English Paper 2, you will typically choose one question from a selection of four narrative or descriptive prompts. The word count expectation is around 350–450 words, and you have approximately 45 minutes to plan, write, and check your work. Examiners assess your writing across two main areas: content and style. Content marks reward the quality of your ideas, the effectiveness of your plot or description, and the development of a coherent narrative voice. Style marks are given for your control of vocabulary, sentence structure, and your ability to use language to create specific effects.

在 CIE IGCSE 英语试卷二中,你通常需要从四个叙事或描写性题目中选择一个作答。字数要求在 350–450 词左右,时间约 45 分钟,需要完成构思、写作和检查。考官主要从两大方面评分:内容与风格。内容分看重你立意构思的质量、情节或描写的效果,以及连贯叙述视角的发展。风格分则依据你对词汇、句子结构的掌控力,以及运用语言制造特定效果的能力。

It is essential to recognise whether the prompt calls for a story or a description. A prompt that begins ‘Write a story about…’ or ‘Describe a time when…’ demands a narrative with a clear sequence of events, while a prompt like ‘Describe a busy marketplace’ expects a sustained piece of sensory description without a full storyline. Many students lose marks by drifting between the two or producing a narrative that lacks any real conflict or change.

关键是要识别题目要求的是故事还是描写。以“写一个关于……的故事”或“描述一段……的经历”开头的题目,要求叙事有清晰的事件序列;而“描述一个繁忙的市场”这类题目,则要求你完成一段持续性的感官描写,无需完整的情节线。许多考生因为混淆了二者,或者写出的叙事缺乏真正的冲突与变化,从而丢分。

Narrative Prompts Descriptive Prompts
Write a story which ends with the words: ‘I knew I would never go back.’ Describe a place where you felt completely at peace.
Write a story about a journey that changed someone’s life. Describe the scene at a train station at midnight.

2. Narrative Writing Essentials | 叙事写作要点

A successful narrative for IGCSE is tightly focused on a single, memorable incident. You do not have space for a long saga covering years. Concentrate on a short time frame – perhaps an hour, a single conversation, or a decisive moment – and give it emotional weight. Every narrative should have a clear beginning, a turning point, and an ending that shows some form of realisation or change. This change can be subtle; it is not necessary to invent a dramatic rescue or a life-altering epiphany. A quiet understanding, a shift in perspective, or the resolution of a small internal conflict can be just as powerful if written with sensitivity.

Open with a hook that immediately grabs attention. Instead of starting with generic scene-setting like ‘It was a sunny day…’, consider opening with dialogue, an unusual action, a striking sensory detail, or a thought that hints at tension. For example: ‘The letter lay unopened on the table, its edges already beginning to curl.’ This immediately raises questions and compels the reader to continue. Throughout the narrative, show rather than tell: instead of saying ‘She was nervous,’ show her palms sweating, her gaze flicking to the clock, her voice catching in her throat.

Finally, end your narrative purposefully. Avoid simply stopping or adding ‘Then I woke up.’ A circular ending, where you echo an image or phrase from the opening, or an open ending that leaves the reader with a lingering question, can be highly effective. Just ensure that your ending feels earned and consistent with the tone you have established.

最后,要有目的地收束全文。避免戛然而止或添加“然后我醒了过来”。首尾呼应的结尾,即回应开头的某个意象或词句,或者给读者留下余味无穷的开放式结尾,往往效果极佳。只要确保结尾显得水到渠成,并与你建立起来的基调一致。

3. Descriptive Writing Techniques | 描写性写作技巧

Descriptive writing in the exam requires you to paint a vivid picture using precise, sensory language. Treat your pen like a camera lens: decide what to focus on, zoom in on specific details, and vary the perspective. Use the five senses systematically – not just sight, but sound, smell, touch, and even taste where appropriate. A description of a beach should not only talk about the blue sky and golden sand; it might include the screech of gulls, the sting of salt on cracked lips, the rough texture of weathered driftwood, and the distant murmur of waves.

考试中的描写性写作要求你用精准的感官语言描绘出一幅生动的画面。把你的笔当作镜头:决定聚焦何处、放大哪些细节,并变换视角。系统地调动五种感官——不仅是视觉,还有听觉、嗅觉、触觉,甚至适当的味觉。描写海滩时,不应只说蓝天金沙;你可以写海鸥的尖啸、咸涩的海风刺痛干裂的嘴唇、粗糙风化的浮木,以及远方海浪的低语。

Variety in sentence length is a secret weapon in description. A series of short, abrupt sentences can quicken the pace and create tension, while a long, flowing sentence laden with adjectives and subordinate clauses can evoke a sense of calm or build an immersive atmosphere. Deliberate repetition (anaphora) can also lend rhythm and emphasis: ‘The silence of the empty hall. The silence of forgotten voices. The silence that pressed against my ears.’

句式长短的变化是描写中的秘密武器。一连串短促的句子可以加快节奏、制造紧张感,而一个带着丰富形容词和从句的长句,则能营造出静谧感或沉浸式氛围。有意的重复(首语重复)也能赋予节奏和强调:“空荡荡大厅的沉默。被遗忘嗓音的沉默。那压迫着耳膜的沉默。”

Avoid cliché. Describing a sunset as ‘a blaze of orange and pink’ does nothing to make your writing stand out. Push yourself to find fresh comparisons: perhaps the sky looks like ‘a watercolour spill, the colours bleeding into one another beyond the silhouette of rooftops.’ Concrete, original imagery almost always scores higher than tired phrases.

避免陈词滥调。将日落描述为“一片橙红与粉红交相辉映”,丝毫不会让你的写作脱颖而出。要努力寻找新鲜的比喻:或许天空看起来像“水彩泼洒,颜色在屋顶剪影的背后相互渗透。”具体、新颖的意象,得分几乎总是高于陈旧的用语。

4. Building Compelling Characters | 塑造引人入胜的人物

Even in a short narrative, characters need to feel real and distinct. Give your protagonist at least one specific trait, habit, or piece of backstory that makes them memorable. This can be revealed through action, dialogue, or the way they perceive the world around them. Instead of a general ‘boy,’ write about a boy who always counts the cracks in the pavement or who refuses to throw away old train tickets. Small details like this make a character spring to life in only a few sentences.

即使在短小的叙事中,人物也需要给人真实、独特的感觉。至少为你的主角赋予一个明确的特质、习惯或背景细节,让其令人难忘。这可以通过动作、对话或他们感知周围世界的方式来展现。不要写一个泛泛的“男孩”,要写一个总在数地砖裂缝的男孩,或者一个不肯扔掉旧火车票的男孩。像这样的小细节,仅需三言两语就能让人物跃然纸上。

Dialogue is an invaluable tool for characterisation, but it must serve a purpose. Use it to advance the plot, reveal conflict, or show a character’s personality, not simply to fill space. Keep it natural: real speech is often hesitant, interrupted, and full of implication. Tags like ‘he said’ are perfectly adequate; adverbs like ‘musingly’ or ‘retorted angrily’ can feel forced. Instead, let the words themselves and the accompanying actions convey the tone.

对话是塑造人物的利器,但必须有其目的。用它来推进情节、揭示冲突或展露人物个性,而不仅仅是占篇幅。保持自然:真实的对话常常犹疑、被打断、充满弦外之音。“他说道”之类的引导语完全够用;而“沉思道”、“愤怒地反驳”这类副词可能会显得生硬。相反,要让话语本身和伴随的动作来传达语气。

Avoid populating your story with too many characters. In 400 words, you can only effectively develop one or two. Give each a distinct voice: perhaps one speaks in short, clipped sentences while the other is verbose and rambling. This contrast immediately signals personality without needing lengthy explanation.

避免在故事里塞进太多人物。在 400 词篇幅内,你最多只能有效展开一两个人物。给每个人以独特的语调:也许一个说话短促、干脆利落,另一个则啰唆、漫无边际。这种对比无需大量解释,就能立刻传达出性格特点。

5. Structuring Your Story | 构建故事结构

Although 350–450 words is a short piece, it still needs a clear skeleton. Think in terms of a simple three-part structure: exposition (setup), complication (problem or conflict), and resolution (outcome). In the opening, swiftly establish who, where, and when – but embed these details in action rather than stating them flatly. The complication should arrive early, ideally by the second paragraph, to create a sense of momentum.

虽然 350–450 词篇幅短小,仍然需要一个清晰的骨架。可以按照简单的三段式结构来构思:开端(设定)、发展(问题或冲突)和结局(解决)。在开头,快速确立人物、地点和时间——但要将这些信息融入动作中,而不是平铺直叙。矛盾点应尽早出现,最好在第二段,以营造向前推进的感觉。

Within the story, use paragraphing to guide the reader’s eye. A new paragraph signals a shift in time, place, topic, or speaker in dialogue. Short paragraphs can be especially powerful for isolating a moment of revelation or heightening drama. Aim for 4–6 paragraphs in a full-length response, and make sure each one has a clear purpose.

在故事内部,用分段来引导读者的视线。新段落意味着时间、地点、话题或对话者的转换。短小的段落特别有力,能突显顿悟时刻或加强戏剧性。一篇完整的回答宜分为 4–6 段,并确保每一段都有明确的功能。

Some students find it helpful to plan a ‘story mountain’ in the margin: a quick diagram plotting the rise in tension to a climax, followed by a brief falling action and resolution. This visual reminder can stop you from getting lost in unnecessary backstory or letting the tension fizzle out too soon.

一些学生觉得在页边画一座“故事山”很有帮助:简要画出一个从紧张升级到高潮,再到短暂下落和解决的示意图。这个视觉提示可以防止你在不必要的背景故事中迷失,或者让紧张感过早消散。

6. Language and Literary Devices | 语言与文学手法

Examiners expect to see a range of language techniques used deliberately for effect. Similes, metaphors, and personification are the most commonly used devices, but they must be original and apt, not forced. A well-placed metaphor can illuminate a character’s emotion or the atmosphere of a setting. For instance, describing a tense household as ‘a piano string tightened to breaking’ is far more evocative than saying ‘the atmosphere was tense.’

考官期望看到一系列有意识地运用于效果的语言技巧。明喻、暗喻和拟人是最常用的手法,但它们必须新颖贴切,不能生硬。一个恰到好处的暗喻可以点明人物情绪或环境氛围。例如,将紧张的家庭气氛描述为“一根拧得要断掉的琴弦”,远比直接说“气氛紧张”更富有感染力。

Beyond the basic comparisons, explore techniques like onomatopoeia, alliteration, oxymoron, and pathetic fallacy. Alliteration can create a subtle musicality: ‘the soft sigh of the sea’ feels more soothing than ‘the sound of the sea.’ Pathetic fallacy – reflecting a character’s mood through the weather or environment – is a sophisticated technique if not overused. A sudden rainstorm at a moment of grief, or glaring midday sun during a confrontation, can deepen the reader’s experience.

除了基本的比拟,还可以探索拟声、头韵、矛盾修饰法、情感谬误等手法。头韵能营造微妙的音乐性:“海的轻柔叹息”比“海的声音”更令人心安。情感谬误——通过天气或环境反射人物心境——是一种颇显功力的技法,前提是不被滥用。悲痛时的骤雨,对峙时正午灼人的烈日,都能加深读者的体验。

Vocabulary choice is equally critical. Use precise, interesting verbs and adjectives instead of relying on ‘nice,’ ‘good,’ ‘bad,’ ‘big,’ or ‘small.’ Words like ‘sauntered,’ ‘trudged,’ or ‘scurried’ carry far more information than ‘walked.’ However, do not overreach and use a complex word whose meaning you are unsure of – misuse can be jarring and damage your style mark.

用词同样至关重要。使用精准、生动的动词和形容词,不要依赖“好”、“不错”、“坏”、“大”、“小”这类词。“闲逛”、“跋涉”或“慌慌张张地跑”比单纯的“走”携带了更多信息。但也不要过度堆砌,用你不确知含义的复杂词汇——误用会显得突兀,拉低风格分。

7. Controlling Sentences and Punctuation | 句式与标点的掌控

Skilful manipulation of sentence structures distinguishes a high-grade creative piece from an average one. Mix simple, compound, and complex sentences to create rhythm and reflect the pace of the narrative. A series of short simple sentences can mirror a character’s panic or the rapid unfolding of a crisis. A longer complex sentence with embedded clauses can slow the reader down, inviting them to linger on a description. Aim for a conscious balance: too many short sentences can make your writing feel choppy; a string of long, overloaded sentences may become confusing.

对句子结构的巧妙驾驭,是高分创意写作与普通文章的分水岭。混合使用简单句、并列句和复合句,能创造节奏并反映叙事的速度。一连串短小的简单句可以映射人物的恐慌或危机的迅速展开。一个带有内嵌从句的较长复合句则能放慢读者的脚步,邀请他们流连于某段描写。要追求一种有意识的平衡:过多短句会显得支离破碎;一连串冗长、承载过多的句子则可能令人费解。

Punctuation is not just about correctness; it is a tool for meaning and effect. Use commas to control pace, dashes for abrupt interruptions or afterthoughts, and semi-colons to link closely related ideas without the full stop. A colon can introduce a revealing detail or an explanation: ‘He finally understood: there was no going back.’ Experiment with sentence fragments for emphasis – a single word or phrase standing alone can strike like a punch. Just ensure that any fragment is intentional and not the result of a grammatical error.

标点不只是为了正确;它是表达意义和效果的工具。用逗号控制节奏,用破折号表示突然的中断或补充,用分号连接紧密相关的分句而无需句号。冒号可以引出揭示性的细节或解释:“他终于明白了:再也回不去了。”大胆尝试用句子片段来强调——一个单词或短语单独成句,可以像重拳一样有力。只需确保任何片段都是有意为之,而非语法错误。

Pay particular attention to the punctuation of dialogue. Each new speaker requires a new line, and the spoken words should be enclosed in quotation marks. The comma or full stop before the closing quotation mark is a frequent source of error. Practice the correct conventions until they become second nature, as sloppy dialogue punctuation gives a poor impression to the examiner.

要特别注意对话的标点。每次换说话人都要另起一行,说出来的话要用引号括住。后引号前的逗号或句号是常出错的地方。要多加练习,直到正确的规范成为本能,因为对话标点潦草会给考官留下很不好的印象。

8. Developing a Distinctive Voice | 培养独特的语调

Voice is the personality behind the writing, and it is what makes your piece memorable. For a first-person narrative, decide on a voice that fits your narrator: are they cynical, innocent, reflective, or humorous? Consistency is key. If you open with a conversational, chatty tone, maintain it throughout. A third-person narrative can still carry a distinctive voice through the choice of details and the narrator’s implicit attitude towards the characters.

语调是文字背后的人格,也是让文章令人难忘的关键。写第一人称叙事时,要确定一个与叙述者相符的语调:是愤世嫉俗、天真单纯、深思反省,还是幽默诙谐?保持一致至关重要。如果你以聊天式的亲切语气开篇,就要贯穿始终。第三人称叙事同样可以通过细节取舍和叙述者对人物的隐含态度,带上独特的语调。

One effective way to find a voice is to write as if you are speaking to a specific listener. Imagine telling your story to a close friend, and let that natural rhythm and vocabulary flow into your writing. This helps eliminate overly formal or stilted phrasing. However, do not slip into colloquialism that might be inappropriate; the IGCSE creative writing task still expects a degree of polished, controlled language.

找到语调的一个有效方法是,仿佛在对着一个特定的聆听者说话似的去写。想象自己在给一位密友讲述故事,让那种自然的节奏和词汇流入笔下。这有助于消除过于正式或生硬的措辞。但也不要陷入不恰当的口语化表达;IGCSE 创意写作任务仍然期望一种经过打磨、有一定驾驭力的语言。

Reading your draft aloud in your head during the final check can help you catch any places where the voice wavers or the rhythm stumbles. A consistent, authentic voice often lifts a competent piece of writing into the top band of the mark scheme.

最后检查时在脑海中默读你的草稿,可以帮助你发现语调摇曳或节奏踉跄的地方。一种连贯、真实的语调,往往能将一篇合格的写作提升至评分标准的最高档。

9. Planning and Time Management | 构思与时间管理

With only about 45 minutes for the creative writing task, careful time allocation is essential. Spend the first 5–8 minutes planning your response. This does not mean writing a full outline in complete sentences; a mind map, a list of key events, a few memorable phrases, or a simple structure diagram is sufficient. Planning will save you from running out of ideas halfway through or veering off topic. The prompt itself often contains words you can echo or develop.

创意写作任务只有约 45 分钟,精心分配时间至关重要。花最初的 5–8 分钟构思。这不意味着要用完整的句子写出详细提纲;一幅思维导图、一份关键事件清单、几个令人印象深刻的短语,或一张简单的结构图足矣。构思可以防止你写到一半无话可说或偏离主题。题目本身的用词往往可以呼应或展开。

Reserve 30–35 minutes for the actual writing, and keep an eye on your word count. A rough target is 350–450 words; if you write significantly less, you risk under-developing your ideas; if you write much more, you may run out of time or lose focus. Do not waste precious minutes counting every single word, but be aware of how much space your ideas typically take on the page during practice sessions. The final 3–5 minutes are for proofreading. Check for spelling slips, punctuation gaps, and any sentences that do not make complete sense. A clean, error-free final product makes a strong impression.

留出 30–35 分钟实际写作,同时留意字数。大致目标是 350–450 词;如果写得过少,容易导致构思展开不足;如果写得过多,可能时间不够或失去焦点。不要在考场上浪费宝贵时间去逐字计数,但要在平时练习中对你常规篇幅有个概念。最后 3–5 分钟用于校对。检查拼写疏漏、标点缺失,以及任何意思不通的句子。一份干净、无误的定稿会给人留下强烈的正面印象。

If you find yourself stuck, return to your plan. It is better to write a complete, well-rounded response that sticks to a simple idea than an ambitious, sprawling narrative that remains unfinished. A polished short piece always outscores a messy long one.

如果卡壳了,就回头看看你的提纲。写出一篇完整、圆融、坚守简单构思的文章,远胜于一篇雄心勃勃却松散拖沓、未完成的叙事。打磨过的短篇总是胜过杂乱的长篇。

10. Common Mistakes and How to Avoid Them | 常见错误与规避方法

One frequent pitfall is ‘over-writing’ – straining for effect with an overload of adjectives, forced similes, or purple prose. Simplicity and precision carry more power than florid decoration. Another mistake is telling the reader what to feel rather than letting them experience it through the writing. Phrases like ‘It was terrifying’ or ‘She felt so happy’ bypass the reader’s imagination. Instead, let the situation, the sensory details, and the characters’ actions build the emotion naturally.

一个常见陷阱是“过度修饰”——堆砌形容词、生硬的明喻或过分华丽的辞藻,反而显得做作。简洁、精准比花哨的装饰更有力量。另一个错误是直接告诉读者该感受什么,而不是通过文字让读者自己去经历。诸如“这太恐怖了”或“她感到非常开心”这类表述,绕过了读者的想象。相反,要让情境、感官细节和人物动作自然而然地构建情绪。

Poor paragraphing is a surprisingly common issue. A wall of text without breaks is intimidating and can obscure the structure of your story. Conversely, starting a new line after every sentence fragments the narrative and prevents the flow from building. Use paragraphs to group related ideas and to signal shifts. A dramatic short paragraph after a series of longer ones can have immense impact, but use this technique sparingly.

糟糕的分段出人意料地普遍。没有段落分隔的大片文字令人生畏,还会掩盖故事结构。反过来,每句话都另起一行则会割裂叙述,阻碍流畅感的建立。要用段落将相关意思归类,并标示转换。在一连串长段落之后,一个戏剧性的短段落可以产生巨大冲击力,但要慎用该技巧。

Finally, avoid clichéd plots and endings. The ‘it was all a dream’ twist, the lost puppy story, or the perfect hero who saves the day without any flaw are unlikely to engage an examiner who has read hundreds of scripts. Choose a situation that feels real and specific. A story about a small, everyday moment – a missed bus, a forgotten lunch, a glance exchanged in a queue – can be infinitely more compelling than an epic disaster if written with genuine observation and emotional truth.

最后,要避免陈腐的情节和结局。“到头来不过是场梦”的转折、走失小狗的故事,或者毫无缺点的完美英雄拯救世界的套路,很难打动已批阅过成百上千份答卷的考官。要选择那些真实、具体的情境。一个关于日常瞬间的小故事——一次错过的公交,一份遗忘的午餐,排队时交换的一个眼神——只要带着真诚的观察和情感的真实去写,就远比一部宏大的灾难更引人入胜。

11. Using Sensory Details and Imagery | 运用感官细节与意象

Strong creative writing engages the reader’s senses continuously. Map out the sensory landscape of your scene before you begin writing: what does the character see, hear, smell, touch, and possibly taste? Weave these details into the action and narration rather than listing them in a static block of description. For instance, instead of writing ‘The kitchen smelled of spices and bread,’ you might write: ‘She pushed open the kitchen door and the warm scent of cinnamon and fresh bread wrapped around her like a blanket.’ This integrates sensory detail with movement and emotion.

出色的创意写作会持续调动读者的感官。动笔前先把你场景的感官景观梳理清楚:人物看到什么、听到什么、闻到什么、摸到什么,有可能的话还尝到什么?将这些细节编织进行动和叙述中,而不是在一个静态的描写段落里逐一罗列。例如,不要写“厨房里飘着香料和面包的味道”,可以写成:“她推开厨房门,肉桂和新出炉面包的暖香像毯子一样将她裹住。”这就把感官细节与动作、情感融合了起来。

Imagery should work on multiple levels. A well-chosen image can simultaneously paint a picture, suggest a mood, and hint at a theme. Consider the symbolic weight of light and darkness, open and closed doors, or paths and crossroads. You do not need to spell out the symbolism; a subtle, recurring image can add depth without feeling heavy-handed. For example, a character repeatedly noticing clocks could hint at anxiety about time passing, even if the narrative never explicitly states it.

意象应该在多个层面起作用。一个精心挑选的意象可以同时描绘画面、暗示情绪、暗指主题。思考光亮与黑暗、开着的与紧闭的门,或者小路与十字路口的象征分量。不需要把象征意义点破;一个微妙、反复出现的意象可以增加深度,而不显得刻意。例如,一个人物反复注意到钟表,可以暗示对时间流逝的焦虑,即使叙述从未明说。

12. Final Exam Tips and Practice | 考前冲刺与练习要诀

In the weeks leading up to the exam, practice writing to a clock. Choose past paper prompts and give yourself exactly 45 minutes to produce a complete response. This builds the stamina and time-awareness you will need on the day. After each practice, review your work against the mark scheme: does your story have a clear conflict and resolution? Is the description sustained and specific? Have you used a range of sentence structures and literary devices accurately? Self-assessment is one of the fastest ways to improve.

考前几周,要按时钟练习。选取历年真题的题目,严格给自己 45 分钟完成一篇完整的回应。这会锻炼你在考试当天所需的耐力和时间意识。每次练习后,对照评分标准复盘:你的故事是否有清晰的冲突和结局?描写是否持续且具体?你是否准确运用了多种句式结构和文学手法?自我评估是进步最快的途径之一。

Build a personal toolkit of 5–7 versatile ‘power phrases’ or images that you can adapt to different prompts. These might be original descriptions of weather, emotions, or settings that you have crafted and polished in advance. Having a small bank of reliable, high-quality language means you will not start from a blank page mentally. However, never memorise an entire story and try to force it into the prompt; examiners are adept at recognising this, and it rarely fits well.

建立一个你自己的工具箱,储备 5–7 个可适用于不同题目的万能“强力短语”或意象。它们可以是你事先打磨好的关于天气、情绪或场景的新颖描述。手头有这样一小库可靠的高质量语言,你就不会在心理上从零开始。但切勿背诵一整篇故事企图硬套进题目;考官很会识别这种痕迹,而且这样做通常难以契合意旨。

Read widely and with a writer’s eye. When you read short stories, novels, or even feature articles, notice how the author opens a piece, how they transition between paragraphs, and how they end. Copy out phrases you admire and analyse why they work. The more you fill your mind with effective language patterns, the more naturally they will emerge in your own writing under pressure.

广泛阅读,并带着写作者的眼光去读。读短篇小说、长篇小说甚至专题文章时,留意作者如何开篇、如何在段落间过渡、如何收尾。把你欣赏的句子抄下来,分析它们为什么奏效。你脑中积累的有效语言模式越多,在压力之下你自己的写作就越能自然而然地涌现出来。
