Year 7 Cambridge Philosophy: Exam Skills and Marking Criteria | 剑桥7年级哲学:答题技巧与评分标准

📚 Year 7 Cambridge Philosophy: Exam Skills and Marking Criteria | 剑桥7年级哲学:答题技巧与评分标准

Philosophy is not about memorising facts – it is about thinking clearly, asking the right questions, and building well-reasoned arguments. In Year 7 Cambridge Philosophy, you begin to explore big ideas about knowledge, reality, ethics and logic. Doing well in assessments means understanding what examiners look for and practising the skills that show real philosophical thinking.

哲学并非死记硬背事实——它在于清晰地思考、提出正确的问题,并构建论证严密的论点。在剑桥7年级哲学中,你开始探索关于知识、实相、伦理与逻辑的大问题。在评估中取得好成绩,意味着要理解考官看重什么,并练习那些展现真正哲学思维的技能。

1. Understanding the Question | 理解题意

Every philosophical question has a specific focus. Read the question carefully and underline key terms such as ‘explain’, ‘analyse’, ‘evaluate’ or ‘do you agree’. These command words tell you exactly what thinking process the examiner wants you to demonstrate.

每个哲学问题都有特定的侧重点。仔细阅读题目,在关键词下划线,例如“解释”、“分析”、“评价”或“你是否同意”。这些指令词确切地告诉你考官希望你展示哪种思维过程。

If a question asks ‘Is it ever right to lie?’, you are being asked to construct an argument, not just describe different opinions. Start by defining what lying means and under what circumstances the question arises.

如果题目问“说谎是否永远不对?”,你被要求构建一个论证,而不仅仅是描述不同的观点。首先定义说谎是什么意思,以及这个问题在什么情境下产生。

2. Structure Your Answer Clearly | 清晰地组织答案结构

Even a short philosophical answer needs a clear beginning, middle and end. Start with a direct statement of your view or the issue you will discuss. Then present one or two reasoned points, and finish with a conclusion that ties your ideas together.

即使是一个简短的哲学答案,也需要有清晰的开头、中间和结尾。开头直接陈述你的观点或你要讨论的议题。然后呈现一两个有理由的论点,最后用结论将你的观点串联起来。

Use the PEE structure: Point – state your idea; Explanation – explain what you mean and why it matters; Example – give a simple real-life or imaginary scenario to make your reasoning concrete.

使用PEE结构:Point(观点)——陈述你的想法;Explanation(解释)——解释你的意思及其重要性;Example(例子)——给出一个简单的现实或想象的场景,使你的推理具体化。

3. Show Both Sides of an Argument | 呈现论点的两面

Philosophy rewards students who can think about more than one perspective. Even if you have a clear opinion, show that you understand the strongest objection to your view and explain why you still hold your position.

哲学奖励那些能思考多个视角的学生。即使你有明确的观点,也要展示你理解对自己观点最有力的反对意见,并解释为什么你仍然坚持自己的立场。

For example, if arguing that stealing is always wrong, you might mention the case of a starving person who steals bread. Acknowledge the moral tension, then explain why you do or do not make an exception.

例如,如果你论证偷窃永远错误,你可能会提到一个饥饿的人偷面包的情况。承认这里存在道德张力,然后解释你为何不(或为何)允许例外。

4. Use Philosophical Vocabulary Accurately | 准确使用哲学术语

Examiners look for appropriate use of key terms such as ‘premise’, ‘conclusion’, ‘argument’, ‘counterexample’, ‘moral dilemma’, ‘valid’ and ‘sound’. Using these words correctly shows that you are beginning to think like a philosopher.

考官看重你是否能恰当地使用关键术语,如“前提”、“结论”、“论证”、“反例”、“道德困境”、“有效”和“可靠”。正确使用这些词语表明你正开始像哲学家一样思考。

Do not just drop a term into a sentence without understanding it. Always link the term to the point you are making. For instance, ‘My premise is that happiness is the ultimate good, therefore the conclusion follows that we should promote happiness.’

不要在不理解的情况下将一个术语硬塞进句子里。始终将该术语与你的论点联系起来。例如,“我的前提是幸福是终极的善,因此结论是,我们应当促进幸福。”

5. Analyse, Don’t Just Describe | 分析而非仅仅描述

Description tells what a philosopher said; analysis digs into why it matters and whether we should believe it. In your answers, always move from describing a theory or idea to examining its strengths and weaknesses.

描述是说出某个哲学家说过什么;分析则深入探讨它为何重要,以及我们是否应该相信它。在你的答案中,始终要从描述一个理论或观点,转向考察它的优缺点。

For instance, after explaining Plato’s idea of the Forms, a descriptive answer stops. An analytical answer asks: ‘What problems does this idea solve? Does it create new problems? What might a critic say?’

例如,在解释了柏拉图的理型论之后,描述性答案就此止步。而分析性答案会问:“这个观点解决了什么问题?它是否带来了新的问题?批评者可能会说什么?”

6. Support Your Views with Reasons | 用理由支持你的观点

In philosophy, saying ‘I think something is wrong because it doesn’t feel right’ is not a strong reason. You need to give a rational justification that could convince someone who does not share your feelings.

在哲学中,说“我认为某事不对,因为它感觉不对”不是一个强有力的理由。你需要给出一个理性的辩护,能够说服那些不与你感受相同的人。

Good reasons appeal to logic, consistency, evidence or widely shared moral principles. For example, ‘Lying is wrong because if everyone lied, trust would break down and society would not function.’

好的理由诉诸逻辑、一致性、证据或广泛认同的道德原则。例如,“说谎是错的,因为如果人人都说谎,信任就会崩溃,社会将无法运转。”

7. Use Clear and Relevant Examples | 使用清晰且相关的例子

Examples make abstract ideas come alive. They are essential in philosophy to show that you can apply concepts to real situations. Choose examples that are simple, concrete and directly illustrate your point.

例子能让抽象的思想变得生动。在哲学中,用例子展示你能够将概念应用于实际情况至关重要。选择那些简单、具体且直接说明你的观点的例子。

For ethical questions, you might use everyday dilemmas: sharing secrets, keeping promises or helping a friend who is cheating. Always explain how the example connects to the principle you are discussing.

对于伦理问题,你可以使用日常困境:分享秘密、遵守承诺或帮助一个作弊的朋友。始终解释这个例子如何与你正在讨论的原则相关联。

8. Engage with the Stimulus Material | 深入理解材料

If your question comes with a short text, image or story, refer to it directly in your answer. Show that you have understood the stimulus by quoting or paraphrasing it and explaining its philosophical significance.

如果你的题目附带一段短文、图像或故事,在答案中直接引用它。通过引用或释义并解释其哲学意义,表明你已经理解了该材料。

Do not simply repeat the stimulus. Instead, use it as a springboard to discuss the deeper issue. For instance, ‘The story of the ring of Gyges raises the question: would we be moral if we could be invisible?’

不要简单复述材料。而要将其作为跳板,讨论更深层次的问题。例如,“裘格斯戒指的故事提出了一个问题:如果我们能隐身,我们还会讲道德吗?”

9. Understand the Marking Criteria | 理解评分标准

Cambridge Philosophy assessments typically mark your work on three main areas: Knowledge and Understanding, Analysis and Evaluation, and Communication. Each level description tells you what you need to do to reach the highest marks.

剑桥哲学评估通常从三个主要方面评分:知识与理解、分析与评价,以及表达。每个等级的描述告诉你需要做到什么才能拿到最高分。

For Knowledge and Understanding, you need to show accurate grasp of concepts and theories. For Analysis and Evaluation, you need to examine arguments critically and justify your own view. For Communication, you need clear structure and precise vocabulary.

在知识与理解方面,你需要准确掌握概念和理论。在分析与评价方面,你需要批判性地审视论证并辩护自己的观点。在表达方面,你需要结构清晰、用词准确。

10. Write with Precision and Clarity | 精确清晰地书写

Ambiguous sentences weaken your argument. Always aim to say exactly what you mean. Short, focused sentences are often more powerful than long, complicated ones. If a sentence confuses you, it will confuse the examiner too.

含糊不清的句子会削弱你的论证。始终力求准确表达你的意思。简短、聚焦的句子往往比冗长复杂的句子更有力。如果一个句子让你困惑,它也会让考官困惑。

Read your answer after writing it. Check that every paragraph makes a clear point and that the logic flows naturally from one idea to the next. Remove any words that do not add meaning.

写完后读一遍你的答案。检查每一段是否表达了一个清晰的观点,逻辑是否自然地从上一个想法衔接到下一个。删去任何不增添意义的词语。

11. Manage Your Time Wisely | 明智地管理时间

Before you start writing, spend a few minutes planning. Jot down the key ideas you want to include and the order in which you will present them. This prevents rambling and ensures you cover all parts of the question.

在动笔之前,花几分钟进行规划。简要写下你想要包含的关键想法,以及你将按什么顺序呈现它们。这可以防止漫无边际的作答,并确保你覆盖题目的所有部分。

Keep an eye on the clock. If you have 30 minutes for a question, roughly allocate 5 minutes for planning, 20 minutes for writing, and 5 minutes for reviewing and improving your answer.

留意时间。如果你有30分钟回答一个问题,大致分配5分钟规划、20分钟写作、5分钟检查和改进你的答案。

12. Reflect on Your Own Learning | 反思自己的学习

The best philosophy students constantly ask themselves: What did I do well in this answer? Where could I improve? Look at your teacher’s feedback and practise applying it to your next piece of work.

最优秀的哲学学生不断问自己:我在这个答案中哪些地方做得好?我可以在哪些方面改进?仔细阅读老师的反馈,并练习将其应用到你的下一次作业中。

Keep a simple philosophy journal where you note interesting questions, tricky concepts and examples you find helpful. This builds a personal toolkit that makes revision easier and more meaningful.

保持一本简单的哲学日志,记录你遇到的有趣问题、棘手概念以及你觉得有帮助的例子。这会建立起你个人化的工具箱,使复习更容易、更有意义。
