1. Greetings and Introductions | 问候与自我介绍

In Spanish, ‘Hello’ is ‘Hola’. It can be used at any time of the day and in almost any situation. When you want to be more specific, you can say ‘Buenos días’ (good morning) until around midday, ‘Buenas tardes’ (good afternoon) from midday until evening, and ‘Buenas noches’ (good evening/night) once it gets dark.

在西班牙语中,“你好”是“Hola”。一天中任何时候、几乎任何场合都可以使用。如果想说得更具体,可以在中午之前说“Buenos días”(早上好),从中午到傍晚说“Buenas tardes”(下午好),天黑后说“Buenas noches”(晚上好/晚安)。

To ask how someone is, you can say ‘¿Cómo estás?’ when talking to a friend or someone your age. The more formal version, used with adults or in respectful situations, is ‘¿Cómo está usted?’. The typical response is ‘Estoy bien, gracias’ (I’m fine, thank you), followed by ‘¿Y tú?’ (And you? informal) or ‘¿Y usted?’ (And you? formal).

要问对方好不好,可以对朋友或同龄人说“¿Cómo estás?”。对于成年人或正式场合,要用更礼貌的形式“¿Cómo está usted?”。通常的回答是“Estoy bien, gracias”(我很好,谢谢),然后再问“¿Y tú?”(你呢?非正式)或“¿Y usted?”(您呢?正式)。

When meeting someone, you can introduce yourself by saying ‘Me llamo…’ (My name is…) and then ask ‘¿Cómo te llamas?’ (What is your name?). You might also hear ‘Mucho gusto’ (Nice to meet you) after an introduction. Saying goodbye is easy: ‘Adiós’ (Goodbye) or ‘Hasta luego’ (See you later) are very common.

认识别人时,可以用“Me llamo…”介绍自己(我叫……),然后问“¿Cómo te llamas?”(你叫什么名字?)。介绍后常能听到“Mucho gusto”(很高兴认识你)。道别很简单:“Adiós”(再见)或“Hasta luego”(回头见)都很常用。

2. The Spanish Alphabet and Pronunciation | 西班牙语字母与发音

The Spanish alphabet has 27 letters. It includes the 26 letters of the English alphabet plus the letter ‘ñ’ (eñe). The pronunciation of many letters is quite different from English. Learning the sounds correctly from the start will help you speak clearly and understand the language more easily.

西班牙语字母表有 27 个字母,包括英语的 26 个字母,再加上“ñ”。许多字母的发音和英语差别很大。从一开始就学好发音,能让你说得更清楚,也更容易听懂西班牙语。

Vowels are especially important: A (ah as in ‘father’), E (eh as in ‘bed’), I (ee as in ‘machine’), O (oh as in ‘note’ but shorter), U (oo as in ‘boot’). Spanish vowels are always pronounced clearly and do not change sound like they sometimes do in English.

元音特别重要:A(类似“father”中的 a 音),E(类似“bed”中的 e 音),I(类似“machine”中的 i 音),O(类似“note”中的 o 音但更短),U(类似“boot”中的 oo 音)。西班牙语的元音总是发得很清晰,不会像英语元音那样有时发生音变。

The letter ‘H’ is always silent: ‘hola’ sounds like ‘ola’. The letter ‘J’ has a sound like a strong English ‘h’, as in ‘jamón’. The ‘Ñ’ is a separate letter and sounds like the ‘ny’ in ‘canyon’. The double ‘LL’ is traditionally pronounced like the ‘lli’ in ‘million’, but in many regions it sounds like ‘y’. The hard ‘C’ (before a, o, u) is like ‘k’, but before e or i it sounds like ‘th’ in most of Spain, or ‘s’ in Latin America.

字母“H”总是不发音:“hola”听起来像“ola”。字母“J”发出的音类似强有力的英语“h”,比如“jamón”。“Ñ”是一个独立的字母,发音类似“canyon”中的“ny”。双“LL”的传统发音类似“million”中的“lli”,但在很多地区听起来像“y”。硬“C”(在 a、o、u 前)发“k”的音,但在 e 或 i 前,在西班牙大部分地区发“th”音,在拉丁美洲发“s”音。

Below is a quick reference table for some tricky letters.

下面是一些较难字母的快速参考表。

Letter Approximate sound Example
H silent hola (hello)
J like English ‘h’ but stronger jugar (to play)
Ñ like ‘ny’ in canyon mañana (tomorrow)
LL like ‘y’ in yes or ‘lli’ in million llamar (to call)
C (before e/i) ‘th’ (Spain) or ‘s’ (Latin America) cinco (five)
Z ‘th’ (Spain) or ‘s’ (Latin America) zapato (shoe)

Practise saying the letters aloud. Knowing the alphabet will also help you spell words when you are asked. For example, ‘Cómo se escribe?’ means ‘How do you spell it?’.

大声练习朗读字母。学会了字母表,别人问你怎么拼写时也容易应对。比如“¿Cómo se escribe?”意思就是“怎么拼写?”。

3. Numbers 1–31 and Dates | 数字 1–31 与日期

Numbers are essential for telling the time, saying your age, and giving the date. In Year 7, you will often need the numbers from 1 to 31. Start by learning them in groups: 1–10, 11–20, and then 21–31.

数字对于表达时间、年龄和日期必不可少。在七年级,通常会用到数字 1 到 31。可以分组来学习:1–10、11–20,然后是 21–31。

Here are the numbers 1 to 10: uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve, diez. Notice that ‘uno’ becomes ‘un’ before a masculine noun, e.g. ‘un libro’ (one book).

1 到 10 是:uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve, diez。注意“uno”在阳性名词前会变成“un”,比如“un libro”(一本书)。

11 to 15: once, doce, trece, catorce, quince. 16 to 19 are made with ‘dieci’ + the unit: dieciséis, diecisiete, dieciocho, diecinueve. 20 is ‘veinte’. Then 21–29 are formed with ‘veinti’ + unit, e.g. veintiuno (21), veintidós (22). 30 is ‘treinta’, and 31 is ‘treinta y uno’.

11 到 15:once, doce, trece, catorce, quince。16 到 19 由“dieci”加个位数构成:dieciséis, diecisiete, dieciocho, diecinueve。20 是“veinte”。21 到 29 由“veinti”加个位数构成,如 veintiuno (21), veintidós (22)。30 是“treinta”,31 是“treinta y uno”。

To ask and say today’s date, you need the question ‘¿Cuál es la fecha de hoy?’ (What is today’s date?) and the answer pattern: ‘Hoy es el [number] de [month]’. For example, ‘Hoy es el tres de septiembre’ (Today is the 3rd of September). The days of the week are: lunes, martes, miércoles, jueves, viernes, sábado, domingo. Months are not capitalised in Spanish: enero, febrero, marzo, abril, mayo, junio, julio, agosto, septiembre, octubre, noviembre, diciembre.

要询问和表达今天的日期,你需要问“¿Cuál es la fecha de hoy?”(今天是什么日期?),回答的格式是:“Hoy es el [数字] de [月份]”。例如“Hoy es el tres de septiembre”(今天是9月3日)。星期是:lunes(周一)、martes(周二)、miércoles(周三)、jueves(周四)、viernes(周五)、sábado(周六)、domingo(周日)。西班牙语中的月份首字母不大写:enero, febrero, marzo, abril, mayo, junio, julio, agosto, septiembre, octubre, noviembre, diciembre。

4. Classroom Phrases | 课堂用语

Being able to communicate basic needs and questions in the classroom makes a huge difference. Here are some phrases you will use every day. ‘¿Puedo ir al baño, por favor?’ means ‘Can I go to the toilet, please?’. ‘No entiendo’ means ‘I don’t understand’, and ‘¿Puede repetir, por favor?’ means ‘Can you repeat, please?’. These will help you interact with your teacher in Spanish from day one.

能在教室里用西班牙语表达基本需求和提问非常重要。下面是你每天都会使用的短语。“¿Puedo ir al baño, por favor?”意思是“我可以去一下洗手间吗?”;“No entiendo”表示“我不明白”;“¿Puede repetir, por favor?”意思是“请您再说一遍好吗?”。学会这些,你从第一天起就能用西班牙语和老师交流了。

When you need a word, you can ask ‘¿Cómo se dice … en español?’ (How do you say … in Spanish?). The teacher might reply ‘Se dice …’ (You say …). To ask how to spell something, say ‘¿Cómo se escribe?’. If you want to ask about meaning, use ‘¿Qué significa …?’ (What does … mean?).

需要某个词时,你可以问“¿Cómo se dice … en español?”(……用西班牙语怎么说?)。老师可能会回答“Se dice …”(……这样说)。要询问拼写,可以说“¿Cómo se escribe?”。如果想问含义,可以说“¿Qué significa …?”(……是什么意思?)。

Other useful classroom expressions include ‘Silencio, por favor’ (Silence, please), ‘Abran el libro’ (Open the book), ‘Cierren el libro’ (Close the book), ‘Escuchen’ (Listen), and ‘Levanten la mano’ (Raise your hand). By learning these now, you will feel more comfortable and ready to participate.

其他实用的课堂表达还有“Silencio, por favor”(请安静),“Abran el libro”(打开书),“Cierren el libro”(合上书),“Escuchen”(听),“Levanten la mano”(举手)。现在学会这些,你在课堂上会更自在,更愿意参与。

5. Family and Descriptions | 家庭与描述

Talking about your family is a common topic in Year 7 Spanish. The immediate family words are: mi madre (my mother), mi padre (my father), mi hermano (my brother), mi hermana (my sister), mi abuelo (my grandfather), mi abuela (my grandmother). Remember that ‘mis’ is used for plural: mis padres (my parents), mis hermanos (my siblings/brothers).

谈论家庭是七年级西班牙语课常见的话题。核心家庭成员的词汇有:mi madre(我的母亲),mi padre(我的父亲),mi hermano(我的兄弟),mi hermana(我的姐妹),mi abuelo(我的祖父/外祖父),mi abuela(我的祖母/外祖母)。记住,复数要用“mis”:mis padres(我的父母),mis hermanos(我的兄弟姐妹/兄弟们)。

To describe people, you will often use the verb ‘ser’ (to be) with adjectives. For example, ‘Mi hermano es alto y simpático’ (My brother is tall and nice). Adjectives must agree in gender and number with the noun they describe. For most adjectives, add -a for feminine, and -s for plural. So ‘Mi hermana es alta y simpática’. Note the spelling change: simpático → simpática.

描述人时常使用动词“ser”(是)搭配形容词。例如,“Mi hermano es alto y simpático”(我的哥哥又高又和蔼)。形容词必须与所修饰的名词在性、数上保持一致。大多数形容词在阴性时加 -a,复数加 -s。所以“Mi hermana es alta y simpática”(我的姐姐又高又和蔼)。注意拼写变化:simpático → simpática。

Here is a short list of useful adjectives: alto/a (tall), bajo/a (short), simpático/a (nice, friendly), serio/a (serious), divertido/a (funny), inteligente (intelligent – same for both genders), grande (big), pequeño/a (small). You can also say how many brothers and sisters you have: ‘Tengo dos hermanos y una hermana’ (I have two brothers and one sister).

以下是一些常用形容词:alto/a(高的),bajo/a(矮的),simpático/a(和蔼可亲的),serio/a(严肃的),divertido/a(有趣的),inteligente(聪明的,男女同形),grande(大的),pequeño/a(小的)。你还可以表达兄弟姐妹的人数:“Tengo dos hermanos y una hermana”(我有两个兄弟和一个姐妹)。

6. Likes and Dislikes: The Verb Gustar | 喜好表达:动词 Gustar

In Spanish, expressing likes and dislikes works differently from English. The verb ‘gustar’ literally means ‘to be pleasing’. To say ‘I like’, you use ‘(A mí) me gusta’ + singular noun or infinitive verb. For plural nouns, it becomes ‘me gustan’.

西班牙语中表达喜好和英语的方式不同。动词“gustar”的字面意思是“使……喜欢”。要说“我喜欢”,用“(A mí) me gusta”加单数名词或动词原形。如果是复数名词,则用“me gustan”。

Examples: ‘Me gusta el chocolate’ (I like chocolate), ‘Me gusta bailar’ (I like dancing/to dance). ‘Me gustan los perros’ (I like dogs). To say ‘I don’t like’, add ‘no’ before ‘me’: ‘No me gusta estudiar’ (I don’t like studying).

例如:“Me gusta el chocolate”(我喜欢巧克力),“Me gusta bailar”(我喜欢跳舞)。“Me gustan los perros”(我喜欢狗)。要说“我不喜欢”,在“me”前加“no”:“No me gusta estudiar”(我不喜欢学习)。

To ask someone, you use ‘¿Te gusta…?’ (Do you like…? singular) or ‘¿Te gustan…?’ (plural). Respond with ‘Sí, me gusta/gustan’ or ‘No, no me gusta/gustan’. The phrases ‘a mí’ and ‘a ti’ can be added for emphasis: ‘A mí me gusta la pizza, ¿y a ti?’ (I like pizza, and you?).

要问别人,可以用“¿Te gusta…?”(你喜欢……吗?单数)或“¿Te gustan…?”(复数)。回答“Sí, me gusta/gustan”(是的,我喜欢)或“No, no me gusta/gustan”(不,我不喜欢)。“a mí”和“a ti”可以加进来表示强调:“A mí me gusta la pizza, ¿y a ti?”(我喜欢披萨,你呢?)。

7. Key Verbs: ser, tener, estar | 关键动词:ser, tener, estar

Three irregular verbs appear everywhere in beginner Spanish: ser (to be), tener (to have), and estar (to be). Learning their present tense forms early will give you a huge advantage. Ser is used for identity, origin, characteristics, and time. Tener expresses possession and age. Estar is used for location and temporary states.

在初学西班牙语时,有三个不规则动词随处可见:ser(是)、tener(有)和 estar(在/处于)。尽早学会它们的现在时形式会让你领先一大步。ser 用于表示身份、来源、特征和时间。tener 表示拥有和年龄。estar 用于表示位置和暂时状态。

Here are their conjugations in the present tense:

以下是它们的现在时变位:

Pronoun Ser (to be) Tener (to have) Estar (to be)
yo (I) soy tengo estoy
tú (you informal) eres tienes estás
él/ella/usted (he/she/you formal) es tiene está
nosotros/as (we) somos tenemos estamos
vosotros/as (you all, informal Spain) sois tenéis estáis
ellos/ellas/ustedes (they/you all formal) son tienen están

With these verbs, you can make many useful sentences. ‘Soy estudiante’ (I am a student). ‘Tengo doce años’ (I am twelve years old). ‘Estoy en casa’ (I am at home). ‘Mi hermana es inteligente’ (My sister is intelligent). ‘Tenemos un perro’ (We have a dog). ‘¿Dónde estás?’ (Where are you?). Notice that ‘tener’ is used for age, not ‘ser’.

运用这些动词,你可以造出很多实用的句子。“Soy estudiante”(我是一个学生)。“Tengo doce años”(我十二岁)。“Estoy en casa”(我在家)。“Mi hermana es inteligente”(我的姐姐很聪明)。“Tenemos un perro”(我们有一只狗)。“¿Dónde estás?”(你在哪里?)。注意表达年龄要用“tener”而不是“ser”。

8. Gender and Articles | 名词的性与冠词

All Spanish nouns have a gender: masculine or feminine. This is a key concept. Generally, nouns ending in -o are masculine (el libro, the book), and nouns ending in -a are feminine (la casa, the house). However, there are exceptions, like ‘la mano’ (hand, feminine) and ‘el día’ (day, masculine).

所有的西班牙语名词都有性别:阳性或阴性。这是一个关键概念。通常,以 -o 结尾的名词是阳性(el libro,书),以 -a 结尾的名词是阴性(la casa,房屋)。但也有例外,比如“la mano”(手,阴性)和“el día”(天,阳性)。

The definite article ‘the’ has four forms: el (masculine singular), la (feminine singular), los (masculine plural), las (feminine plural). The indefinite article ‘a/an’ also has four forms: un (masculine singular), una (feminine singular), unos (masculine plural, some), unas (feminine plural, some). For example, ‘un perro’ (a dog), ‘una mesa’ (a table), ‘unos chicos’ (some boys), ‘unas chicas’ (some girls).

定冠词“the”有四种形式:el(阳性单数),la(阴性单数),los(阳性复数),las(阴性复数)。不定冠词“a/an”也有四种形式:un(阳性单数),una(阴性单数),unos(阳性复数,一些),unas(阴性复数,一些)。例如:“un perro”(一只狗),“una mesa”(一张桌子),“unos chicos”(一些男孩),“unas chicas”(一些女孩)。

Adjectives and articles must match the gender and number of the noun. So ‘the white house’ is ‘la casa blanca’, while ‘the white book’
