📚 Year 7 SQA French: Summer Preparation & Bridging Course | 七年级SQA法语:暑期预习与衔接课程

Starting secondary school French in Scotland’s S1 (Year 7) is exciting, but the jump from primary language experiences can feel big. A summer bridging course helps you build confidence in basic vocabulary, pronunciation, and simple grammar before term begins. This article covers everything you need to get a head start, from the alphabet to talking about your family, all aligned with the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and SQA modern languages expectations.

在苏格兰S1(七年级)开始中学法语学习令人兴奋,但从小学语言体验到中学课程的跨越可能感觉很大。暑期衔接课程帮助你在开学前建立基础词汇、发音和简单语法的信心。本文涵盖了你需要抢先起步的所有内容,从字母表到谈论你的家庭,完全符合苏格兰卓越课程和SQA现代语言的期望。

1. Getting Ready: The Importance of Summer Bridging | 做好准备:暑期衔接的重要性

Moving into S1 French means shifting from occasional songs and games to structured lessons with new vocabulary, grammar and longer dialogues. A summer bridging routine reduces first-term anxiety and helps you feel ready to participate from day one. Even 15 minutes a day can make a significant difference.

进入S1法语意味着从偶尔的歌曲和游戏转向结构化的课程,涵盖新词汇、语法和较长的对话。暑期衔接的常规练习可以减轻第一学期的焦虑,并帮助你在开学第一天就感到准备就绪并能积极参与。每天哪怕15分钟也能带来显著不同。

Focus on little-and-often practice: short sessions are far more effective than a single weekly marathon. Combine listening, speaking, reading and writing activities to engage different skills. Use the themes in this article as a checklist and mark off each one as you master it.

专注于少量多次的练习:短时间的高频次学习远比每周一次长时间突击有效得多。结合听、说、读、写活动来调动不同技能。把这篇文章中的主题当作一个清单,每掌握一个就勾掉它。

2. The French Alphabet and Pronunciation | 法语字母与发音

The French alphabet has the same 26 letters as English, but nearly every letter is pronounced differently. Pay extra attention to vowels and the special accent marks that change sounds or distinguish words. Mastering these early will help you read aloud confidently.

法语字母表与英语一样有26个字母,但几乎每个字母的发音都不同。要特别注意元音以及那些改变发音或区分词义的特殊重音符号。尽早掌握这些会让你有信心大声朗读。

Below is a guide to the letter names. Practise saying them aloud in sequence.

以下是字母名称指南。请按顺序大声练习朗读。

Letter Name (approx.) Letter Name (approx.)
A ah N enn
B bay O oh
C say P pay
D day Q kew
E uh R air (guttural)
F eff S ess
G zhay T tay
H ash U ew (rounded lips)
I ee V vay
J zhee W doo-bluh-vay
K kah X eex
L ell Y ee-grek
M emm Z zed

Accents are essential in French. The acute accent (é) gives a bright ‘ay’ sound as in école. The grave accent (è) opens the sound, as in très. The circumflex (ê) often marks a historical ‘s’, and the cedilla (ç) softens ‘c’ to ‘s’ before a, o, u. Learn them early to avoid spelling mistakes later.

重音符号在法语中至关重要。闭口音符(é)发出明亮的’ay’音,如 école。开口音符(è)使发音更开,如 très。长音音符(ê)通常表示历史上曾有一个’s’,而软音符(ç)使’c’在 a, o, u 前发’s’音。尽早学习它们,以避免日后的拼写错误。

3. Basic Greetings and Polite Expressions | 基本问候与礼貌表达

Greetings are the first building block of everyday conversation. In French, you choose between formal and informal registers depending on who you are talking to. Using the right form shows respect and cultural awareness.

问候语是日常对话的第一块基石。在法语中,你需要根据交谈对象选择正式或非正式的表达方式。使用正确的形式显示出尊重和文化意识。

  • Bonjour – Hello / Good day (formal, daytime)
  • Salut – Hi / Bye (informal)
  • Bonsoir – Good evening (after about 6 pm)
  • Bonne nuit – Good night
  • Au revoir – Goodbye
  • À bientôt – See you soon
  • À demain – See you tomorrow

Always pair a greeting with ‘Monsieur’, ‘Madame’ or ‘Mademoiselle’ in formal settings. Add s’il vous plaît (please) and merci (thank you) to be polite. De rien or je vous en prie are common replies to ‘thank you’.

在正式场合,问候时总要配上’先生’、’夫人’或’小姐’。加上 s’il vous plaît(请)和 merci(谢谢)以显得礼貌。De rienje vous en prie 是回应’谢谢’的常用语。

4. Numbers 1–31 and Telling Dates | 数字1–31与表达日期

Knowing numbers up to 31 allows you to say your age, the date and the time. Concentrate on the tricky spellings of numbers like cinq (5), six (6), huit (8) and vingt (20).

掌握1到31的数字能让你说出年龄、日期和时间。要特别留意那些拼写容易出错的数字,如 cinq(5)、six(6)、huit(8)和 vingt(20)。

Digit French Digit French
1 un 17 dix-sept
2 deux 18 dix-huit
3 trois 19 dix-neuf
4 quatre 20 vingt
5 cinq 21 vingt et un
6 six 22 vingt-deux
7 sept 23 vingt-trois
8 huit 30 trente
9 neuf 31 trente et un
10 dix

For dates, use the pattern: C’est le + number + month. For example, ‘It is the first of September’ is C’est le premier septembre. Notice the word ‘premier’ for the 1st of the month; all other days use the cardinal number, e.g. le deux mai (the 2nd of May).

表达日期时,使用句式:C’est le + 数字 + 月份。例如,’It is the first of September’ 是 C’est le premier septembre。注意每月1号用’premier’一词;其他日子都用基数词,如 le deux mai(5月2日)。

5. Colours and Simple Descriptions | 颜色与简单描述

Colour vocabulary appears early and is a fun way to start describing objects around you. Learn the main colour adjectives and remember that most change their spelling depending on the gender and number of the noun they describe.

颜色词汇出现得很早,它是开始描述身边事物的一种有趣方式。学习主要的颜色形容词,并记住大多数颜色会根据它们所修饰名词的性和数而改变拼写。

For example: un sac bleu (a blue bag, masculine singular) becomes une voiture bleue (a blue car, feminine singular). Add an -s for plural: des sacs bleus (blue bags). The colours marron (brown) and orange (orange) are invariable – they keep the same form.

例如:un sac bleu(一个蓝色的包,阳性单数)变为 une voiture bleue(一辆蓝色的汽车,阴性单数)。复数时加 -s :des sacs bleus(蓝色包)。颜色 marron(棕色)和 orange(橙色)是不变的——它们保持同一形式。

Try describing your bedroom or classroom items: un stylo vert, une gomme blanche, des ciseaux noirs. This practice builds noun-adjective agreement habits that will serve you throughout S1 and beyond.

试着描述你的卧室或教室物品:un stylo vert(一支绿笔)、une gomme blanche(一块白橡皮)、des ciseaux noirs(一把黑剪刀)。这种练习能培养名词与形容词配合的习惯,这在你整个S1及以后的学习中都会有用。

6. Introducing Yourself and Others | 自我介绍与介绍他人

Being able to talk about yourself is a key early milestone. Use the verb être (to be) and avoir (to have) to give your name, age, nationality and where you live.

能够谈论自己是早期的一个关键里程碑。使用动词 être(是)和 avoir(有)来说明你的姓名、年龄、国籍和居住地。

Start with these sentence frames:

  • J’habite à Édimbourg / Glasgow / une petite ville. – I live in Edinburgh / Glasgow / a small town.
  • Je parle anglais et un peu français. – I speak English and a little French.

When introducing a friend, use Il/Elle s’appelle … and Il/Elle a … ans. Note the verb forms: il/elle est, il/elle a. Learning these pronouns and verb endings now will give you a huge advantage.

介绍朋友时,使用 Il/Elle s’appelle …Il/Elle a … ans. 注意动词形式:il/elle est, il/elle a。现在学习这些代词和动词词尾将给你带来巨大优势。

7. Everyday Classroom Language | 日常课堂用语

Classroom instructions are usually given in French from the very first S1 lesson. Familiarise yourself with common phrases so you can follow directions and ask for help without switching to English.

从S1的第一节课开始,课堂指令通常就用法语给出。熟悉常用短语,这样你就能跟上指令并在不切换成英语的情况下寻求帮助。
