High-Frequency Exam Topics and Common Mistakes in Year 8 Edexcel Spanish | Year 8 Edexcel 西班牙语:高频考点与易错题分析

📚 High-Frequency Exam Topics and Common Mistakes in Year 8 Edexcel Spanish | Year 8 Edexcel 西班牙语:高频考点与易错题分析

For Year 8 students following the Edexcel Spanish curriculum, assessments often test a clear set of core language skills: describing yourself and others, talking about school and free time, ordering food, and expressing future plans. Many questions appear repeatedly in slightly different contexts. Knowing these high-frequency topics and understanding the typical errors students make can dramatically improve exam performance. This article breaks down the most common exam themes, pinpoints the trickiest grammar and vocabulary pitfalls, and offers practical strategies to avoid losing marks unnecessarily.

对于学习 Edexcel 西班牙语课程的 Year 8 学生来说,考试通常会考查一系列明确的核心语言技能:描述自己和他人、谈论学校和课余生活、点餐以及表达未来计划。许多题目会以稍有不同的语境反复出现。了解这些高频考点并理解学生常犯的典型错误,可以显著提高考试成绩。本文详细解析最常见的考试主题,指出最棘手语法和词汇陷阱,并提供避免不必要失分的实用策略。

1. Present Tense Verb Conjugations | 现在时动词变位

One of the most heavily tested areas is the present tense of regular -ar, -er, and -ir verbs. Edexcel Year 8 exams often ask students to complete sentences with the correct form of a verb given in brackets. The most frequent mistake is forgetting to remove the infinitive ending before adding the person ending. For example, ‘hablar’ (to speak) becomes ‘hablo’ (I speak), not ‘hablo’ but many write ‘hablar’ incorrectly conjugated as ‘hablo’ after removing -ar correctly, yet the real error emerges with stem-changing verbs like ‘jugar’ (to play) where students write ‘jugo’ instead of ‘juego’.

Another typical pitfall involves the irregular verbs ‘ser’, ‘estar’, ‘tener’ and ‘ir’. Students frequently mix up ‘soy’ and ‘estoy’ when describing permanent versus temporary states. The exam might ask ‘Mi hermano ___ alto y simpático.’ Many candidates fill in ‘está’ instead of ‘es’, losing a mark because physical appearance is a permanent characteristic. Likewise, ‘tener’ is often written as ‘tieno’ instead of ‘tengo’ for the first person singular, a mistake that examiners see year after year.

  • High-frequency verbs to master: ser, estar, tener, ir, hacer, jugar, comer, beber, vivir, estudiar.
  • 需要掌握的高频动词:ser, estar, tener, ir, hacer, jugar, comer, beber, vivir, estudiar.

Practice forming the present tense by drilling subject pronouns (yo, tú, él/ella/usted, nosotros/nosotras, vosotros/vosotras, ellos/ellas/ustedes) until the endings become automatic.

通过反复练习主语代词(yo, tú, él/ella/usted, nosotros/nosotras, vosotros/vosotras, ellos/ellas/ustedes)与动词词尾的搭配,直到词尾变化能够自动反应。

2. Gender and Number Agreement | 名词与形容词的性数一致

Agreement between nouns, articles, and adjectives is a foundational skill that continues to trip up Year 8 learners. The rule is simple: if a noun is feminine and plural, the article and any adjectives must also be feminine and plural. However, exam scripts reveal patterns like ‘las chicas inteligente’ where the adjective remains in its masculine singular form. Marks are deducted for each missing agreement, and in a single sentence, multiple errors can accumulate quickly.

名词、冠词和形容词之间的一致性是 Year 8 学生经常绊倒的基础技能。规则很简单:如果一个名词是阴性复数,那么冠词和所有形容词也必须是阴性复数。然而,试卷中经常出现 ‘las chicas inteligente’ 这样的错误,形容词仍保持阳性单数形式。每缺少一处一致就会扣分,而在一个句子中,多处错误会迅速累积。

Another subtle point is that words ending in -ma, -pa, -ta are often masculine, leading to ‘el problema’ not ‘la problema’. Students who rely on the ‘-a equals feminine’ shortcut lose marks on these exceptions. Similarly, pluralising adjectives that end in a consonant requires adding -es, not just -s: ‘joven’ becomes ‘jóvenes’. A common mistake is writing ‘los profesores joven’ instead of ‘los profesores jóvenes’, missing both the plural form and the accent mark.

In Edexcel writing tasks, candidates are expected to describe family members, friends, or school objects. A well-structured answer should demonstrate consistent agreement: ‘Mi hermana es alta y generosa. Mis primos son divertidos y habladores.’ Always double-check the ending of every adjective after finishing a paragraph.

在 Edexcel 写作任务中,考生需要描述家庭成员、朋友或学校物品。组织良好的回答应展示出前后一致的性数搭配:’Mi hermana es alta y generosa. Mis primos son divertidos y habladores.’ 写完一段后,务必回头检查每个形容词的词尾。

3. The Tricky Verbs ‘Ser’ and ‘Estar’ | 棘手动词 ‘Ser’ 和 ‘Estar’ 的辨析

Knowing when to use ‘ser’ and when to use ‘estar’ is a classic exam challenge. The general guideline taught in Year 8 is that ‘ser’ describes permanent traits, origin, occupation, and time, while ‘estar’ refers to location, temporary conditions, and ongoing actions. Examiners deliberately design questions to test this boundary. For instance, ‘El concierto ___ en el parque’ tests whether students recognise that an event’s location uses ‘ser’, not ‘estar’, because the location of an event is considered a characteristic of the event itself.

知道何时使用 ‘ser’ 和何时使用 ‘estar’ 是经典的考试难题。Year 8 教学中的一般准则是:’ser’ 用于描述永久特征、来源、职业和时间,而 ‘estar’ 用于指地点、临时状态和正在进行的动作。考官会故意设计题目来测试这一界限。例如,’El concierto ___ en el parque’ 考查学生是否认识到事件的地点使用 ‘ser’ 而非 ‘estar’,因为事件的地点被视为事件本身的特征。

Another frequent testing point involves adjectives that change meaning depending on the verb. The sentence ‘La manzana es verde’ means the apple is green in colour (a characteristic), whereas ‘La manzana está verde’ means the apple is unripe (a temporary state). Year 8 students often overlook this nuance and treat both as interchangeable. In multiple-choice sections, this distinction is a favourite distracter.

另一个常见考点涉及那些根据动词不同而意义发生变化的形容词。’La manzana es verde’ 意为苹果是绿色的(颜色特征),而 ‘La manzana está verde’ 意为苹果是生的(临时状态)。Year 8 学生常常忽视这一细微差别,认为两者可以互换。在选择题部分,这种区分是考官最爱设置的干扰项。

A reliable exam technique is to ask yourself: if I add the words ‘hoy’ (today) or ‘ahora’ (now), does the sentence still make sense? If so, ‘estar’ is likely correct. For example, ‘Estoy cansado hoy’ works, but ‘Soy inglés hoy’ sounds odd unless you are joking.

一个可靠的考试技巧是问自己:如果加上 ‘hoy’(今天)或 ‘ahora’(现在),句子是否依然合理?如果合理,’estar’ 很可能是正确的。例如,’Estoy cansado hoy’ 说得通,但 ‘Soy inglés hoy’ 听起来就很奇怪,除非你是在开玩笑。

4. Gustar and Similar Back-to-Front Verbs | Gustar 及类似反向动词

‘Gustar’ is frequently tested because its structure is so different from English. Students often write ‘Yo gusto el chocolate’ instead of ‘Me gusta el chocolate’, literally translating from English. The exam expects the indirect object pronoun (me, te, le, nos, os, les) and the verb to agree with the thing that is liked, not the person. When the thing liked is plural, ‘gusta’ must become ‘gustan’: ‘Me gustan los deportes’. Missing this agreement is one of the most penalised errors in written work.

Similar verbs such as ‘encantar’ (to love), ‘interesar’ (to interest), and ‘doler’ (to hurt) follow the same pattern. A typical exam question provides a sentence stem: ‘A mí ___ (encantar) los videojuegos.’ The expected answer is ‘me encantan’, but many students write ‘encanto’ or ‘encanta’. Reinforcing the rule that the verb form depends on what comes after it helps prevent this type of mistake.

类似的动词如 ‘encantar’(使着迷)、’interesar’(使感兴趣)和 ‘doler’(使疼痛)也遵循相同模式。典型的考题会给出句子开头:’A mí ___ (encantar) los videojuegos.’ 期待的答案是 ‘me encantan’,但许多学生会写成 ‘encanto’ 或 ‘encanta’。强化“动词形式取决于其后内容”这一规则有助于避免此类错误。

In the speaking exam, candidates might be asked ‘¿Qué te gusta hacer en tu tiempo libre?’ A strong answer will use gustar correctly with an infinitive: ‘Me gusta jugar al fútbol y me encanta escuchar música.’ Avoid the trap of saying ‘Me gusta jugar al fútbol y escuchar música’ without repeating ‘me gusta’ or using a connector, because the drop in pronoun can confuse the listener about who is doing the liking.

在口语考试中,考生可能被问到 ‘¿Qué te gusta hacer en tu tiempo libre?’ 一个有力的回答会正确使用 gustar 并接动词原形:’Me gusta jugar al fútbol y me encanta escuchar música.’ 避免这样说的陷阱:’Me gusta jugar al fútbol y escuchar música’ 而没有重复 ‘me gusta’ 或使用连接词,因为省略代词会让听者不清楚谁在做“喜欢”这个动作。

5. Question Words and Forming Questions | 疑问词与疑问句的构成

Edexcel Year 8 reading and listening comprehension sections heavily rely on understanding question words. A student who confuses ‘¿Cuándo?’ (When?) with ‘¿Cuánto?’ (How much?) or ‘¿Dónde?’ (Where?) with ‘¿De dónde?’ (From where?) will likely misinterpret the task. Examiners often place these similar-looking words in the same block of exercises to test attention to detail.

Edexcel Year 8 的阅读和听力理解部分高度依赖对疑问词的理解。分不清 ‘¿Cuándo?’(何时?)和 ‘¿Cuánto?’(多少?),或者 ‘¿Dónde?’(哪里?)和 ‘¿De dónde?’(来自哪里?)的学生很可能会误解题目要求。考官经常把这些形似的单词放在同一组练习中,以考查细致的注意力。

In the writing paper, students may be asked to write questions for given answers. For example: ‘___ es tu cumpleaños?’ requires ‘¿Cuándo’, but ‘___ años tienes?’ requires ‘¿Cuántos’, with number agreement because ‘años’ is plural. Forgetting to make ‘cuánto’ agree in gender and number (‘cuánta’, ‘cuántos’, ‘cuántas’) is a common slip. Similarly, many learners fail to include the upside-down question mark at the beginning of the question, which is mandatory in Spanish and can cost a mark in formal assessments.

Question Word Meaning Common Confusion
¿Cuándo? When? Often misread as ‘How much?’
¿Cuánto/a/os/as? How much/many? Forgetting gender/number agreement
¿Dónde? Where? Confused with ‘¿De dónde?’
¿De dónde? From where? Answering with a location instead of origin
¿Quién/quiénes? Who? Using singular for plural answer

Practise by turning statements into questions: ‘Pedro vive en Madrid’ becomes ‘¿Dónde vive Pedro?’ Maintaining the correct word order—verb before subject—is essential, as English-style ‘¿Dónde Pedro vive?’ is not grammatically acceptable.

通过将陈述句转换为疑问句来练习:’Pedro vive en Madrid’ 变成 ‘¿Dónde vive Pedro?’ 保持正确的词序——动词在主语之前——至关重要,因为英语式的 ‘¿Dónde Pedro vive?’ 在语法上是不可接受的。

6. Free Time and Hobbies Vocabulary | 课余生活与爱好词汇

The topic of free time is a staple in Edexcel Year 8 listening and speaking exams. Students are expected to talk about sports, music, technology use, and going out. A high-frequency error is using the wrong preposition with sports and instruments. Spanish uses ‘jugar al’ + sport (jugar al fútbol) but ‘tocar’ + instrument without an article (tocar la guitarra). Many learners say ‘jugar fútbol’ or ‘tocar a la guitarra’, mixing the two patterns.

课余生活是 Edexcel Year 8 听力和口语考试的必考话题。学生需要谈论体育、音乐、科技使用和外出活动。一个高频错误是在体育和乐器前使用错误的介词。西班牙语中,’jugar al’ + 运动(jugar al fútbol),但 ‘tocar’ + 乐器则不加冠词(tocar la guitarra)。许多学习者会说 ‘jugar fútbol’ 或 ‘tocar a la guitarra’,将两种模式混淆了。

Frequency expressions like ‘a veces’, ‘todos los días’, ‘dos veces a la semana’, and ‘nunca’ are essential for scoring high marks in speaking and writing. They not only show vocabulary range but also allow candidates to build more complex sentences. However, word order can be problematic. While ‘Nunca veo la televisión’ is correct, ‘Veo nunca la televisión’ is not. The negative word ‘nunca’ typically goes before the conjugated verb or after the infinitive in a two-verb construction: ‘No suelo ver nunca la tele.’

频率表达如 ‘a veces’、’todos los días’、’dos veces a la semana’ 和 ‘nunca’ 是在口语和写作中获得高分的关键。它们不仅展示了词汇的丰富程度,还能让考生构建更复杂的句子。然而,词序可能存在问题。虽然 ‘Nunca veo la televisión’ 是正确的,但 ‘Veo nunca la televisión’ 是错误的。否定词 ‘nunca’ 通常放在变位动词之前,或者在双动词结构中放在不定式之后:’No suelo ver nunca la tele.’

In role-plays, you might have to invite a friend out or arrange an activity. Being able to use ‘¿Quieres ir al cine conmigo?’ or ‘¿Por qué no vamos a la playa?’ and replying with ‘Vale, buena idea’ or ‘Lo siento, no puedo porque tengo que estudiar’ shows interactive competence and is directly rewarded in the communication strand of the mark scheme.

在角色扮演中,你可能需要邀请朋友外出或安排活动。能够使用 ‘¿Quieres ir al cine conmigo?’ 或 ‘¿Por qué no vamos a la playa?’ 并回答 ‘Vale, buena idea’ 或 ‘Lo siento, no puedo porque tengo que estudiar’ 可以展示互动能力,这在评分标准的交流项目中直接获得奖励。

7. School Subjects and Opinions | 学校科目与表达观点

School vocabulary is a high-frequency exam topic. Besides the names of subjects, Edexcel tests the giving of opinions with justification. The standard structure is ‘Me gusta / No me gusta + subject + porque es + adjective.’ The error zone is twofold: forgetting to use the definite article with subjects (el inglés, las matemáticas) and failing to make the adjective agree. To say ‘I like maths because it is interesting’, the correct form is ‘Me gustan las matemáticas porque son interesantes.’ The plural ‘gustan’ and ‘son’ as well as the feminine plural ‘interesantes’ must align.

学校词汇是高频考试话题。除了科目名称,Edexcel 还测试带有理由的观点表达。标准结构是 ‘Me gusta / No me gusta + 科目 + porque es + 形容词。’ 易错区有两个:忘记在科目名词前使用定冠词(el inglés, las matemáticas),以及未能让形容词保持一致。要说“我喜欢数学因为它有趣”,正确形式是 ‘Me gustan las matemáticas porque son interesantes.’ 复数形式的 ‘gustan’ 和 ‘son’ 以及阴性复数 ‘interesantes’ 都必须保持一致。

Another nuance is that subjects like ‘el francés’, ‘el español’, and ‘el inglés’ are masculine, while ‘la historia’, ‘la geografía’, ‘la educación física’ are feminine. When giving an opinion about ‘science’, the Spanish term is ‘las ciencias’, which is feminine plural. A very common mistake is writing ‘la ciencia es divertido’ instead of ‘las ciencias son divertidas’. This type of error signals a weak grasp of agreement and can cap the mark in the grammatical accuracy column.

另一个细微之处是 ‘el francés’、’el español’ 和 ‘el inglés’ 等科目是阳性,而 ‘la historia’、’la geografía’、’la educación física’ 是阴性。当对“科学”发表意见时,西班牙语是 ‘las ciencias’,为阴性复数。一个非常常见的错误是写 ‘la ciencia es divertido’ 而不是 ‘las ciencias son divertidas’。此类错误表明性数一致掌握不牢,可能会限制语法准确性一栏的得分。

Comparing subjects is a skill that lifts a response to a higher level. Using ‘más … que’ and ‘menos … que’ correctly: ‘El inglés es más útil que la historia.’ But beware of the irregular comparative ‘mejor’ (better) and ‘peor’ (worse). Students often mistakenly say ‘más bueno’ which is not standard; ‘mejor’ is required. Similarly, ‘más malo’ should be ‘peor’.

对科目进行比较是一项能提升回答档次的技能。正确使用 ‘más … que’ 和 ‘menos … que’:’El inglés es más útil que la historia.’ 但要注意不规则比较级 ‘mejor’(更好)和 ‘peor’(更差)。学生常常错误地说 ‘más bueno’,这并不标准;需要使用 ‘mejor’。同样,’más malo’ 应为 ‘peor’。

8. The Near Future Tense (IR + a + Infinitive) | 最近将来时 (IR + a + 动词原形)

The immediate future is one of the first future expressions taught in Year 8, and it features prominently in writing and speaking tasks. The formula is simple: present tense of ‘ir’ + a + infinitive. However, exams reveal that students often forget to conjugate ‘ir’ or leave out the ‘a’. Sentences like ‘Yo voy jugar al tenis’ are penalised. The correct version is ‘Voy a jugar al tenis.’

最近将来时是 Year 8 最先教学的将来时表达之一,并在写作和口语任务中占有显著位置。公式很简单:’ir’ 的现在时 + a + 动词原形。然而,考试显示学生经常忘记给 ‘ir’ 进行变位,或者漏掉 ‘a’。像 ‘Yo voy jugar al tenis’ 这样的句子会被扣分。正确的版本是 ‘Voy a jugar al tenis.’

Examiners love to combine the near future with time expressions like ‘esta tarde’, ‘mañana’, ‘el próximo fin de semana’, and ‘en el futuro’. A student who can produce a sentence such as ‘El próximo sábado voy a visitar a mis abuelos y vamos a comer paella’ demonstrates both tense control and vocabulary range. Time expressions are normally placed at the beginning or end of the sentence, and proper punctuation is expected.

考官喜欢将最近将来时与时间表达结合起来,比如 ‘esta tarde’、’mañana’、’el próximo fin de semana’ 和 ‘en el futuro’。能够写出 ‘El próximo sábado voy a visitar a mis abuelos y vamos a comer paella’ 这样句子的学生,既展示了时态的掌握,又体现了词汇的丰富程度。时间短语通常放在句首或句末,并需要正确的标点。

Be careful with the verb ‘ir’ itself: ‘Voy a ir al cine’ is grammatically correct but sounds repetitive. Encourage using alternatives like ‘Voy al cine’ (I’m going to the cinema) or ‘Pienso ir al cine’ to add variety. However, for Year 8, the double ‘ir’ structure is acceptable and shows understanding of the construction. The real danger is omitting the second ‘ir’ entirely: ‘Voy a al cine’ is wrong.

注意动词 ‘ir’ 本身:’Voy a ir al cine’ 在语法上是正确的,但听起来有些重复。建议使用替代说法,如 ‘Voy al cine’(我去电影院)或 ‘Pienso ir al cine’ 来增加多样性。不过,对于 Year 8 来说,双 ‘ir’ 结构是可以接受的,并能展示对该结构的理解。真正的危险是完全遗漏第二个 ‘ir’:’Voy a al cine’ 是错误的。

9. Prepositions of Place and The Verb ‘Hay’ | 地点介词与动词 ‘Hay’

Describing your home, bedroom, or town requires a set of prepositions: ‘al lado de’, ‘encima de’, ‘debajo de’, ‘delante de’, ‘detrás de’, and ‘entre’. The exam often provides a picture and asks students to locate objects. A typical error is using ‘en’ for everything, but ‘El libro está en la mesa’ (on the table) is different from ‘El libro está encima de la mesa’ (on top of the table), though both are often accepted. The real issue arises with ‘a la derecha de’ and ‘a la izquierda de’, where students forget the ‘a’ and write ‘la derecha de’.

描述你的家、卧室或城镇需要使用一系列介词:’al lado de’、’encima de’、’debajo de’、’delante de’、’detrás de’ 和 ‘entre’。考试经常提供一幅图片,要求学生确定物体的位置。一个典型错误是用 ‘en’ 表达一切,然而 ‘El libro está en la mesa’(在桌子上)与 ‘El libro está encima de la mesa’(在桌子上面)是不同的,尽管两者往往都被接受。真正的问题出在 ‘a la derecha de’ 和 ‘a la izquierda de’,学生常常忘记 ‘a’,写成 ‘la derecha de’。

‘Hay’ (there is/there are) is another high-frequency verb. It is invariable in form—never ‘hayan’ or ‘hayes’. Questions like ‘¿Cuántas habitaciones hay en tu casa?’ test the ability to use ‘hay’ with numbers and nouns. A frequent mistake is adding a plural marker: ‘En mi casa hayen tres dormitorios’ is completely wrong. The correct invariant form ‘hay’ must be used whether the noun is singular or plural.

‘Hay’(有)是另一个高频动词。它的形式是不变的——从来不用 ‘hayan’ 或 ‘hayes’。诸如 ‘¿Cuántas habitaciones hay en tu casa?’ 这样的问题考查使用 ‘hay’ 与数字和名词搭配的能力。常见的错误是添加复数标记:’En mi casa hayen tres dormitorios’ 是完全错误的。无论名词是单数还是复数,都必须使用不变形式 ‘hay’。

In writing, students are expected to extend descriptions using ‘hay’ and prepositions together: ‘En mi dormitorio hay una cama, un armario y una lámpara. La lámpara está encima de la mesita de noche.’ Combining ‘hay’ for existence and ‘estar’ for location demonstrates precise understanding of the two verbs and their distinct uses.

在写作中,学生应能够结合 ‘hay’ 和介词来扩展描述:’En mi dormitorio hay una cama, un armario y una lámpara. La lámpara está encima de la mesita de noche.’ 用 ‘hay’ 表示存在,用 ‘estar’ 表示位置,这样结合使用体现对这两个动词及其不同用法的精确理解。

10. Telling the Time and Daily Routine | 时间表达与日常生活

Telling the time is a classic Year 8 topic that appears in the listening paper and as a support skill in the speaking exam. The basics: ‘Es la una’ for 1:00, and ‘Son las + number’ for all other hours. Adding minutes uses ‘y’ (and) or ‘menos’ (minus). The confusion zone is between ‘Son las tres y cuarto’ (quarter past three) and ‘Son las tres menos cuarto’ (quarter to three). Students who mishear or misplace ‘menos’ can completely alter the time, leading to comprehension mistakes in listening tasks.

Daily routine reflexives are a grammar point that often features in this topic. Verbs like ‘levantarse’, ‘ducharse’, and ‘acostarse’ require the correct reflexive pronoun before the conjugated verb: ‘Me levanto a las siete.’ The most frequent error is leaving out the pronoun entirely: ‘Levanto a las siete’ is incorrect and means something else. Another issue is using the wrong pronoun for the subject: ‘Te levanto’ means ‘I lift you’, not ‘I get up’.

日常起居的反身动词是此话题中常涉及的语法点。像 ‘levantarse’、’ducharse’ 和 ‘acostarse’ 这样的动词需要在变位动词前加上正确的反身代词:’Me levanto a las siete.’ 最常见的错误是完全省略代词:’Levanto a las siete’ 是错误的,并且意思不同。另一个问题是主语使用错误的代词:’Te levanto’ 意为“我把你抬起来”,而不是“我起床”。

When sequencing a daily routine, time connectors like ‘primero’, ‘luego’, ‘después’, and ‘finalmente’ are valuable. A well-structured speaking response might sound like: ‘Primero me despierto a las siete, luego me ducho y después desayuno. Finalmente salgo de casa a las ocho.’ This sequence not only shows vocabulary knowledge but also a logical structure that examiners appreciate.

在叙述日常生活时,使用时间连接词如 ‘primero’、’luego’、’después’ 和 ‘finalmente’ 很有价值。一个结构良好的口语回答可以像这样:’Primero me despierto a las siete, luego me ducho y después desayuno. Finalmente salgo de casa a las ocho.’ 这种顺序不仅展示了词汇知识,还体现了考官所欣赏的逻辑结构。

11. Food, Ordering, and Quantities | 食物、点餐与数量表达

The food and drink topic tests vocabulary range and the ability to use transactional language. In a role-play at a restaurant or market, phrases like ‘¿Qué desea?’, ‘Quisiera …’, ‘¿Algo más?’, and ‘La cuenta, por favor’ are essential. A common mistake is the misuse of ‘un/una’ vs. ‘unos/unas’ for portions: ‘un zumo de naranja’ but ‘unas patatas fritas’ because chips are plural. Asking for ‘un agua’ is also incorrect because ‘agua’ is feminine, but the correct form is ‘un agua’ due to phonetic rules, which can confuse students.

Adjectives describing food are frequently tested: ‘sabroso’, ‘dulce’, ‘salado’, ‘picante’, ‘frío’, ‘caliente’. Remember that ‘caliente’ does not mean ‘hot’ in terms of spiciness; that meaning is expressed by ‘picante’. Many learners use ‘caliente’ to describe spicy food, which is a false friend error. Examiners often include questions that distinguish between these two meanings in multiple-choice formats.

描述食物的形容词也经常被考查:’sabroso’、’dulce’、’salado’、’picante’、’frío’、’caliente’。请记住 ‘caliente’ 不表示辣味的“辣”,那应该用 ‘picante’。许多学习者用 ‘caliente’ 来描述辣味食物,这是一个“假朋友”错误。考官经常在选择题中设置区分这两个词义的题目。

Expressing likes and dislikes about food requires agreement with the noun: ‘Me gusta el pescado’ (fish, singular) but ‘Me gustan las verduras’ (vegetables, plural). A high-scoring sentence might combine reason and quantity: ‘Me encantan las frutas, especialmente las fresas, porque son muy dulces y refrescantes.’

表达对食物的好恶需要与名词保持一致:’Me gusta el pescado’(鱼,单数)但 ‘Me gustan las verduras’(蔬菜,复数)。一个高分的句子可以结合原因和数量:’Me encantan las
