1. Greetings, Courtesies and Key Phrases | 问候、礼貌用语及关键短语

Greetings and polite expressions are your first conversational tools. Always address someone with the appropriate level of formality. ‘Bonjour’ works for ‘hello’ or ‘good morning’, while ‘Salut’ is informal. To ask ‘How are you?’, use ‘Comment ça va?’ or ‘Ça va?’. For ‘please’, use ‘s’il vous plaît’ (formal/plural) or ‘s’il te plaît’ (informal). ‘Merci’ means ‘thank you’, and the reply is ‘De rien’ or ‘Je vous en prie’.

问候和礼貌用语是你的第一套交际工具。要根据场合选择合适的正式程度:Bonjour 用于“你好/早上好”,Salut 则用于熟人之间。询问“你好吗?”可以说 Comment ça va? 或 Ça va?。“请”用 s’il vous plaît(正式/复数)或 s’il te plaît(非正式)。Merci 是“谢谢”,回答可用 De rien 或 Je vous en prie。

Common phrases you will need include: ‘Je m’appelle…’ (My name is…), ‘J’ai … ans’ (I am … years old), ‘J’habite à …’ (I live in …), ‘Au revoir’ (Goodbye) and ‘À bientôt’ (See you soon).

以下常用句会让你顺利开场:Je m’appelle…(我叫……)、J’ai … ans(我……岁)、J’habite à …(我住在……)、Au revoir(再见)、À bientôt(回头见)。

2. Numbers, Dates and Time | 数字、日期和时间

Learning numbers 0–31 is essential for giving your age, the date and the time. Numbers from 0 to 10: zéro, un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix. Numbers 11–16 follow a pattern but then 17–19 become ‘dix-sept’, ‘dix-huit’, ‘dix-neuf’. Tens are: 20 vingt, 30 trente. To say 21, you need ‘vingt et un’ (literally twenty and one), but 22 is ‘vingt-deux’, 23 ‘vingt-trois’, etc.

掌握 0–31 的数字是说出年龄、日期和时间的基础。0–10: zéro, un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix。11–16 遵循一定规律,而 17–19 为 dix-sept, dix-huit, dix-neuf。整十数:20 vingt, 30 trente。注意 21 是 vingt et un(加 et),但 22 是 vingt-deux,23 vingt-trois,依此类推。

To give the date, use ‘le’ + number + month. Months: janvier, février, mars, avril, mai, juin, juillet, août, septembre, octobre, novembre, décembre. For ‘the first of the month’, say ‘le premier’. Example: ‘le trois mai’ (3rd May). To ask the date: ‘Quelle est la date?’

表达日期用 le + 数字 + 月份。月份:janvier, février, mars, avril, mai, juin, juillet, août, septembre, octobre, novembre, décembre。每月 1 号用 le premier。例如 le trois mai(5 月 3 日)。询问日期:Quelle est la date?

Telling the time: Use ‘Il est’ + number + ‘heure(s)’. ‘Il est une heure’ (It is 1 o’clock). ‘Il est deux heures’ (2 o’clock). For minutes past, use the number: ‘Il est trois heures dix’ (3:10). For half past, use ‘et demie’: ‘Il est quatre heures et demie’ (4:30). For quarter past/to, use ‘et quart’ / ‘moins le quart’.

时间表达:Il est + 数字 + heure(s)。Il est une heure(1 点)。Il est deux heures(2 点)。分钟用数字直接加:Il est trois heures dix(3:10)。半点用 et demie:Il est quatre heures et demie(4:30)。一刻用 et quart 或 moins le quart:Il est cinq heures et quart(5:15),Il est six heures moins le quart(5:45)。

3. Gender of Nouns and Articles | 名词性别与冠词

Every French noun is either masculine (m.) or feminine (f.). There is no simple rule for all nouns, but many words ending in -e are feminine, while others are masculine. Always learn the article with the noun. The definite article (the) is ‘le’ (m.), ‘la’ (f.), ‘l’’ (before a vowel or silent h), and ‘les’ (plural). The indefinite article (a/an) is ‘un’ (m.), ‘une’ (f.), ‘des’ (some, plural).

法语中每个名词都有阴阳性,没有适用于所有名词的简单规律,但很多以 -e 结尾的词是阴性。学习时一定要将冠词和名词一起记。定冠词(the)为 le(阳)、la(阴)、l’(元音或哑音 h 前)、les(复数)。不定冠词(a/an)为 un(阳)、une(阴)、des(复数,一些)。

Masculine Feminine Before vowel/h Plural
Definite le garçon la fille l’ami (m.), l’amie (f.) les garçons, les filles
Indefinite un stylo une trousse un ordinateur des stylos, des trousses

If a plural noun is preceded by an adjective, ‘des’ often changes to ‘de’. For example: ‘J’ai des livres’ but ‘J’ai de bons livres’ (I have good books). This is an advanced rule to recognise.

如果复数名词前有一个形容词,des 通常要变为 de。例如 J’ai des livres,但 J’ai de bons livres(我有些好书)。这个规则可作了解。

4. Subject Pronouns and Key Verbs: être and avoir | 主语代词及关键动词:être 和 avoir

French subject pronouns are the backbone of every sentence. They are: je (I), tu (you, informal singular), il (he/it), elle (she/it), on (one/we/people), nous (we), vous (you, formal singular and plural), ils (they, masculine or mixed), elles (they, feminine). ‘On’ is very common in speech to replace ‘nous’.

法语主语代词是每句话的骨架:je(我)、tu(你,非正式单数)、il(他/它)、elle(她/它)、on(人们/我们)、nous(我们)、vous(您/你们)、ils(他们,阳性或混合)、elles(她们)。口语中 on 常代替 nous 表示“我们”。

Two verbs you must know by heart are être (to be) and avoir (to have). Learn their present tense forms as a set of patterns.

你必须背熟的两个动词是 être(是)和 avoir(有)。把它们现在的时变位当作公式来记。

Subject être avoir
je je suis j’ai
tu tu es tu as
il/elle/on il/elle/on est il/elle/on a
nous nous sommes nous avons
vous vous êtes vous avez
ils/elles ils/elles sont ils/elles ont

Use être to describe nationality, profession, or personality: ‘Je suis anglais(e)’. ‘Il est intelligent.’ Avoir is used for age, possessions and some expressions: ‘J’ai un chien’, ‘Elle a 12 ans’, ‘Nous avons faim’.

être 用于描述国籍、职业、性格:Je suis anglais(e)。Il est intelligent。avoir 表示年龄、拥有和某些固定搭配:J’ai un chien(我有一只狗),Elle a 12 ans,Nous avons faim(我们饿了)。

5. Regular -er Verbs (Present Tense) | 规则 -er 动词的现在时变位

The largest family of French verbs ends in -er in the infinitive (e.g. parler, aimer, habiter). To conjugate, remove the -er and add the following endings: -e, -es, -e, -ons, -ez, -ent.

法语最大的动词家族以 -er 结尾(如 parler、aimer、habiter)。变位时去掉 -er,加上以下词尾:-e, -es, -e, -ons, -ez, -ent。

parler (to speak): je parle, tu parles, il/elle/on parle, nous parlons, vous parlez, ils/elles parlent

Note that the je, tu, il and ils forms sound identical despite different spellings. Common -er verbs you will use: aimer (to like/love), détester (to hate), regarder (to watch), écouter (to listen), jouer (to play), travailler (to work), étudier (to study), habiter (to live). Some verbs have slight spelling changes: ‘manger’ keeps the -e before -ons: nous mangeons. ‘Commencer’ uses a cedilla: nous commençons.

注意 je、tu、il 和 ils 变位发音相同,仅拼写不同。常用 -er 动词:aimer(喜爱)、détester(讨厌)、regarder(看)、écouter(听)、jouer(玩)、travailler(工作)、étudier(学习)、habiter(居住)。少数动词有拼写变化:manger 在 nous 形式保留 e:nous mangeons。commencer 加软音符:nous commençons。

To form a negative with -er verbs, place ‘ne’ and ‘pas’ around the conjugated verb: ‘Je ne parle pas anglais.’ (I don’t speak English).

构成否定句时,将 ne 和 pas 环绕变位动词:Je ne parle pas anglais。

6. Common Irregular Verbs: aller, faire, and others | 常见不规则动词:aller, faire 等

Some verbs do not follow the -er pattern and must be memorised. Two vital ones are aller (to go) and faire (to do/make).

有些动词不遵循 -er 规则,需要单独记忆。最重要的两个是 aller(去)和 faire(做)。

Subject aller faire
je je vais je fais
tu tu vas tu fais
il/elle/on il/elle/on va il/elle/on fait
nous nous allons nous faisons
vous vous allez vous faites
ils/elles ils/elles vont ils/elles font

Aller is used before a place or with the infinitive for the near future (see Section 10). ‘Je vais au collège.’ Faire is used for activities and weather: ‘Je fais du sport’, ‘Il fait beau’.

aller 用在地方前或与动词原形一起构成最近将来时(见第 10 节)。Je vais au collège(我去学校)。faire 用于活动和天气:Je fais du sport(我做运动),Il fait beau(天气好)。

Other common irregular verbs: vouloir (to want) – je veux, tu veux, il veut, nous voulons, vous voulez, ils veulent; pouvoir (to be able to) – je peux, tu peux, il peut, nous pouvons, vous pouvez, ils peuvent; devoir (to have to) – je dois, tu dois, il doit, nous devons, vous devez, ils doivent. These are often followed by an infinitive.

其他常见不规则动词:vouloir(想要)— je veux, tu veux, il veut, nous voulons, vous voulez, ils veulent;pouvoir(能)— je peux, tu peux, il peut, nous pouvons, vous pouvez, ils peuvent;devoir(必须)— je dois, tu dois, il doit, nous devons, vous devez, ils doivent。这些动词通常后接动词原形。

7. Adjective Agreement and Position | 形容词的性数配合与位置

In French, adjectives change their form to match the gender and number of the noun they describe. Most adjectives add an -e for feminine and an -s for plural. A feminine plural adds -es. For example: ‘un garçon intelligent’ → ‘des garçons intelligents’; ‘une fille intelligente’ → ‘des filles intelligentes’.

法语形容词必须跟它所修饰名词的性和数保持一致。大部分形容词在阴性时加 -e,复数加 -s,阴性复数加 -es。如 un garçon intelligent → des garçons intelligents;une fille intelligente → des filles intelligentes。

Common adjectives with irregular feminine forms: bon → bonne, mignon → mignonne, sportif → sportive, heureux → heureuse, blanc → blanche. Also, some adjectives do not change in the spoken form but add a written -e: ‘joli’ → ‘jolie’.

常见不规则阴性形容词:bon → bonne,mignon → mignonne,sportif → sportive,heureux → heureuse,blanc → blanche。也有些形容词发音不变,只加 -e:joli → jolie。

Position: most adjectives come after the noun. However, some short, common adjectives come before the noun. Remember the acronym BAGS: Beauty (beau, joli), Age (jeune, vieux, nouveau), Goodness (bon, mauvais), Size (grand, petit). Example: ‘une belle maison’, ‘un jeune chien’.

位置:大多数形容词放在名词后。但一些短小的常用形容词放在名词前。记住 BAGS 规则:Beauty(美丑):beau, joli;Age(年龄):jeune, vieux, nouveau;Goodness(好坏):bon, mauvais;Size(大小):grand, petit。例如 une belle maison,un jeune chien。

8. Forming Questions | 疑问句的构成

There are three main ways to ask a question in French. The simplest for Year 8 is to use rising intonation: just say a statement with a question tone. ‘Tu aimes le foot?’ (Do you like football?).

法语有三种主要提问方式。Year 8 最简单的是用升调转述陈述句:Tu aimes le foot?(你喜欢足球吗?)

The second way is to add ‘Est-ce que’ before the subject–verb phrase. ‘Est-ce que tu aimes le foot?’ It means ‘Is it that…’ and signals a question clearly. ‘Est-ce que’ becomes ‘Qu’est-ce que’ if you are asking ‘what’. Example: ‘Qu’est-ce que tu manges?’ (What are you eating?).

第二种方式是在主语+动词前加 Est-ce que:Est-ce que tu aimes le foot?(你喜欢足球吗?)如果问“什么”,用 Qu’est-ce que:Qu’est-ce que tu manges?(你吃什么?)

The third way is more formal and involves inversion: invert the subject and verb with a hyphen. ‘Aimes-tu le foot?’ This is common in writing and will be met in reading tasks. For a -er verb with ‘il/elle/on’, insert a -t- for ease: ‘Parle-t-il français?’ (Does he speak French?).

第三种方式更正式,是主谓倒装:Aimes-tu le foot? 这种结构常见于书面语,阅读中会遇到。对于 -er 动词,il/elle/on 倒装时需加 -t-:Parle-t-il français?(他说法语吗?)

Question words: où (where), quand (when), comment (how), pourquoi (why), combien (how much/many), qui (who). Place them at the start: ‘Où habites-tu?’ or ‘Où est-ce que tu habites?’.

疑问词:où(哪里)、quand(何时)、comment(怎样)、pourquoi(为什么)、combien(多少)、qui(谁)。疑问词放在句首:Où habites-tu? 或 Où est-ce que tu habites?

9. Negation with ne … pas | 否定结构 ne … pas

To make a sentence negative, place ‘ne’ before the conjugated verb and ‘pas’ after it. If the verb begins with a vowel, ‘ne’ becomes ‘n’’. The basic pattern: subject + ne + verb + pas + rest of sentence. ‘Je ne regarde pas la télé.’ (I do not watch TV). ‘Il n’aime pas le chocolat.’ (He does not like chocolate).

把句子变成否定,将 ne 放在变位动词前,pas 放在动词后。动词以元音开头时,ne 变成 n’。基本公式:主语 + ne + 动词 + pas + 其他。Je ne regarde pas la télé.(我不看电视。)Il n’aime pas le chocolat.(他不喜欢巧克力。)

With compound tenses like the near future or the passé composé, the ‘ne … pas’ surrounds the auxiliary verb (the first verb). For example: ‘Je ne vais pas jouer.’ (I am not going to play). ‘Je n’ai pas mangé.’ (I did not eat).

在复合时态(如最近将来时或复合过去时)中,ne … pas 围绕助动词(第一个动词)。例如:Je ne vais pas jouer.(我不去玩。)Je n’ai pas mangé.(我没吃。)

Other negative expressions you may encounter: ne … jamais (never), ne … plus (no longer), ne … rien (nothing). For now, focus on ne … pas as your core tool.

你可能还会遇到其它否定表达:ne … jamais(从不)、ne … plus(不再)、ne … rien(没有什么)。目前先把 ne … pas 作为核心工具掌握。

10. Expressing the Near Future and Simple Past | 最近将来时和简单过去时表达

The near future (futur proche) is formed with the present tense of ‘aller’ + infinitive. It expresses what you are going to do. This is a high-frequency pattern for Year 8. Formula: subject + conjugated form of aller + infinitive. ‘Je vais regarder un film.’ (I am going to watch a film). ‘Nous allons visiter Paris.’ (We are going to visit Paris).

最近将来时由 aller 的现在时 + 动词原形构成,表示即将要做的事情。这是 Year 8 高频句型。公式:主语 + aller 的变位 + 原形动词。Je vais regarder un film.(我打算看一部电影。)Nous allons visiter Paris.(我们要去巴黎参观。)

The simple past or perfect tense (passé composé) is introduced to talk about completed actions. The basic formula with ‘avoir’: subject + present of avoir + past participle. For regular -er verbs, the past participle ends in -é: manger → mangé, regarder → regardé. ‘J’ai mangé une pizza.’ (I ate a pizza). ‘Tu as joué au tennis.’ (You played tennis). A few common verbs use être, but at Year 8, using avoir is the main rule.

简单过去时或称复合过去时(passé composé)用于谈论已经完成的动作。基本公式(avoir):主语 + avoir 现在时 + 过去分词。规则 -er 动词的过去分词以 -é 结尾:manger → mangé,regarder → regardé。J’ai mangé une pizza.(我吃了披萨。)Tu as joué au tennis.(你打了网球。)少数动词用 être 作助动词,但在 Year 8 阶段主要掌握 avoir 助动词用法。

Remember the past participle of irregular verbs you need often: faire → fait, voir → vu, prendre → pris, boire → bu, lire → lu, écrire → écrit. Example: ‘J’ai fait mes devoirs.’ (I did my homework). Learn these as set phrases.

记住常用不规则动词的过去分词:faire → fait,voir → vu,prendre → pris,boire → bu,lire → lu,écrire → écrit。例如:J’ai fait mes devoirs.(我做了作业。)这些作为固定搭配来记忆。

To use negation in the past, surround the auxiliary: ‘Je n’ai pas fini.’ (I did not finish). Question: ‘As-tu aimé le film?’ or ‘Est-ce que tu as aimé le film?’ (Did you like the film?).

过去时否定句围绕助动词:Je n’ai pas fini.(我没完成。)疑问句:As-tu aimé le film? 或 Est-ce que tu as aimé le film?(你喜欢这部电影吗?)
