Year 8 CIE Spanish: Case Study Practice Drill | Year 8 CIE 西班牙语:案例分析实战演练

📚 Year 8 CIE Spanish: Case Study Practice Drill | Year 8 CIE 西班牙语:案例分析实战演练

In Year 8 CIE Spanish, moving from isolated grammar drills to fully contextualised practice is the key to building lasting confidence. This article presents a series of real-life case studies – short scenarios drawn from typical classroom tasks – and walks you through how to analyse, correct and improve your Spanish step by step. Each case is followed by an in-depth explanation of common errors and effective strategies, helping you think like a language examiner and a fluent communicator at the same time.

在 Year 8 CIE 西班牙语课程中,从孤立的语法练习过渡到完整语境中的训练,是建立持久自信的关键。本文展示一系列基于真实课堂任务的短案例,并逐步拆解如何分析、纠错和提升你的西班牙语。每个案例都配有常见错误详解和实用策略,帮助你在像考官一样思考的同时,也像流利表达者一样去组织语言。

1. Understanding Case Study Learning in Spanish | 理解西班牙语案例分析学习

A case study approach means we take a small, realistic piece of Spanish – a sentence with a mistake, a short dialogue, a reading snippet – and we examine it under a magnifying glass. Instead of simply memorising rules, you learn to spot problems and apply corrections in context. In Year 8, this method is especially useful because you already know the basics and now need to refine accuracy and fluency.

案例分析学习法是指我们选取一小段真实的西班牙语素材——一个含错误的句子、一段简短对话、一则阅读片段——然后用放大镜去审视它。你不是在死记规则,而是学会在语境中发现并修正问题。对于 Year 8 学生来说,这种方法尤其有效,因为你已经掌握了基础知识,现在需要打磨准确性和流利度。

Every case study in this article follows a consistent pattern: first, we present a sample of learner Spanish; then we identify the issues; finally we reconstruct the correct version and explain why it works. You will see cases covering verbs, adjectives, reading, listening, writing and speaking, all linked to CIE Lower Secondary Spanish objectives for Year 8.

本文每个案例都遵循同样步骤:先呈现一段西班牙语学习者的输出,然后诊断问题,最后重新构建正确版本并解释原理。案例涵盖动词、形容词、阅读理解、听力、写作和口语,全都紧扣 CIE 初中西班牙语 Year 8 的教学目标。

2. Case Study 1: -AR Verb Conjugation Chaos | 案例一:-AR 动词变位混乱

Student sentence: Mi hermano y yo habla español en casa.

学生原句:Mi hermano y yo habla español en casa.

This sentence attempts to say ‘My brother and I speak Spanish at home.’ However, the verb habla does not agree with the plural subject. The subject Mi hermano y yo is equivalent to nosotros, so the correct present-tense form of regular -ar verb hablar is hablamos. Also, remember that hablar meaning ‘to speak a language’ does not need a preposition before the language name.

这句话想表达“我哥哥和我在家说西班牙语”,但动词 habla 与复数主语不一致。主语 Mi hermano y yo 相当于 nosotros,因此规则 -ar 动词 hablar 的正确现在时变位是 hablamos。此外,表达说某种语言时动词 hablar 后直接加语言名称,无需介词。

Correct version: Mi hermano y yo hablamos español en casa.

正确版本:Mi hermano y yo hablamos español en casa.

  • Regular -ar present endings: yo -o, tú -as, él/ella/usted -a, nosotros -amos, vosotros -áis, ellos/ellas/ustedes -an.
  • 规则 -ar 现在时词尾:yo -o, tú -as, él/ella/usted -a, nosotros -amos, vosotros -áis, ellos/ellas/ustedes -an。
  • Always identify the true subject. Compound subjects like ‘X and Y’ take the nosotros or ellos form depending on perspective.
  • 一定要找出真正的主语。并列主语如“X 和 Y”要根据视角使用 nosotrosellos 形式。

3. Case Study 2: Adjective Agreement and Position | 案例二:形容词性数配合与位置

Student sentence: Tengo un perro negro y una gata blanco.

学生原句:Tengo un perro negro y una gata blanco.

The first part is correct: perro is masculine singular, so negro agrees. The error occurs with gata (feminine singular). The adjective blanco is masculine singular, but it must become feminine singular blanca. Additionally, while most adjectives come after the noun, common descriptive adjectives like negro and blanca follow this rule perfectly.

前半部分正确:perro 为阳性单数,因此 negro 一致。错误出在 gata(阴性单数)上。形容词 blanco 是阳性单数,必须变为阴性单数 blanca。此外,尽管大多数形容词后置,常见描述性形容词如 negroblanca 完全遵循这一规则。

Correct version: Tengo un perro negro y una gata blanca.

正确版本:Tengo un perro negro y una gata blanca.

Adjective agreement summary table:

形容词配合总结表:

Noun Adjective ending (singular) Adjective ending (plural)
Masculine -o (blanco) -os (blancos)
Feminine -a (blanca) -as (blancas)

Remember that some adjectives, like grande or inteligente, have only singular (-e) and plural (-es) forms, and they do not change for gender.

记住,有些形容词如 grandeinteligente 只有单数(-e)和复数(-es)形式,不变性。

4. Case Study 3: Reading Comprehension – Mi Rutina Diaria | 案例三:阅读理解——我的日常生活

Read the short text and answer the questions. This is a typical Year 8 CIE-style reading task.

阅读以下短文并回答问题。这是一个典型的 Year 8 CIE 阅读任务。

Todos los días me levanto a las siete. Desayuno cereales con leche y voy al colegio en autobús. Las clases empiezan a las nueve. Por la tarde, hago los deberes y a veces juego al fútbol con mis amigos. Me acuesto a las diez.

Question 1: ¿A qué hora se levanta esta persona? (At what time does this person get up?)

问题 1:这 person 几点起床?

Analysing the answer: A student writes ‘Se levanta a las siete.’ That is correct. But another student writes ‘Me levanto a las siete.’ This is a common perspective error – the question asks about the person in the text, not about you. Report using the third person singular.

答案分析:一个学生写的是 ‘Se levanta a las siete.’ 正确。但另一个学生写 ‘Me levanto a las siete.’ 这是常见的视角错误——问题问的是文中人物,不是你自己。要用第三人称单数来回答。

Question 2: ¿Qué hace por la tarde? (What does he/she do in the afternoon?)

问题 2:下午他/她做什么?

Expected answer: Hace los deberes y a veces juega al fútbol con sus amigos. Note that jugar is a stem-changing verb: juega, not juga. Also note the contraction al (a + el) before fútbol.

参考答案:Hace los deberes y a veces juega al fútbol con sus amigos. 注意 jugar 是词干变化动词:juega 而非 juga。还要注意在 fútbol 前使用缩合词 al(a + el)。

When checking reading comprehension, always look for time expressions (todas las mañanas, por la tarde) and underpin your answers with evidence from the text. Never copy the whole sentence without adjusting the verb form if the subject changes.

核查阅读理解时,一定要留意时间表达(todas las mañanas, por la tarde),并用文本证据支撑答案。如果主语改变,切勿直接照抄整个句子而不调整动词形式。

5. Case Study 4: Listening Practice – En el Mercado | 案例四:听力练习——在市场

You will hear a short conversation: Cliente: Buenos días. Quiero un kilo de manzanas. ¿Cuánto cuesta? Vendedor: Cuesta dos euros. Then the question: How much do the apples cost?

你将听到一段简短对话:顾客:早上好,我想要一公斤苹果。多少钱?商贩:两欧元。然后问题:苹果多少钱?

Now analyse a student’s answer: ‘Cuesta dos euros.’ A partially correct answer, but the question asks ‘How much do the apples cost?’ Since manzanas is plural, the verb should be cuestan. In natural Spanish you would say Cuestan dos euros. However, in the audio the vendor used singular because they were referring to the kilo. For a listening answer it is acceptable to report exactly what you hear, but in written transformation, you must show number agreement.

现在分析一个学生的回答:‘Cuesta dos euros.’ 部分正确,但问题问的是苹果多少钱,因为 manzanas 是复数,动词应为 cuestan。在自然西班牙语中会说 Cuestan dos euros. 然而音频中商贩用了单数,因为指的是那一公斤。听力作答应忠实于所听内容,但在书面改写时必须体现数的配合。

Listening tip: Even if the speaker uses an ambiguous form, train your ear for singular vs plural verb endings. A Year 8 learner should be able to distinguish between cuesta and cuestan.

听力技巧:即使说话者使用了模糊形式,也要训练耳朵辨别单复数动词词尾。Year 8 学习者应能区分 cuestacuestan

6. Case Study 5: The Verb Gustar and Its Friends | 案例五:动词 Gustar 及其同类

Student sentence: Me gusto el chocolate. The intended meaning is ‘I like chocolate.’ However, gustar does not work like English ‘to like’. The literal construction is ‘Chocolate is pleasing to me’, so the correct form is Me gusta el chocolate. The verb agrees with the thing liked, not the person.

学生原句:Me gusto el chocolate. 本意是“我喜欢巧克力”,但 gustar 的用法与英语 like 不同。字面结构是“巧克力使我愉悦”,因此正确形式是 Me gusta el chocolate。动词要与被喜爱的事物一致,而非与人。

Correct version: Me gusta el chocolate. If plural: Me gustan los chocolates.

正确版本:Me gusta el chocolate. 复数形式:Me gustan los chocolates.

Pronoun Gustar (singular object) Gustar (plural object)
me gusta gustan
te gusta gustan
le gusta gustan
nos gusta gustan
os gusta gustan
les gusta gustan

Verbs that behave similarly include encantar, interesar, doler (to hurt). Always identify the thing that causes the feeling and match the verb to it.

用法类似的动词还有 encantarinteresardoler(疼痛)。永远先找到引起感觉的事物,再使动词与其配合。

7. Case Study 6: Writing Task – Describing My Family | 案例六:写作任务——描述我的家庭

Task: Write 5–6 sentences about your family in Spanish. Include names, ages, physical descriptions and hobbies.

任务:用西班牙语写 5—6 句话描述你的家庭,包括姓名、年龄、外貌和爱好。

Student first attempt: Mi familia es grande. Tengo dos hermanas. Mi hermana mayor llamar Sofía. Ella tiene quince años y es alto. Ella gusta nadar. Mi hermano pequeño jugar fútbol.

Error analysis: llamar should be se llama (reflexive verb for calling oneself); alto must agree with feminine subject ellaalta; Ella gusta nadar is incorrect because gustar requires an indirect object pronoun → Le gusta nadar; jugar fútbol needs aljuega al fútbol and verb jugar is irregular (u → ue).

错误分析:llamar 应为 se llama(称呼自己的自复动词);alto 须与阴性主语 ella 配合 → altaElla gusta nadar 错因 gustar 需带间接宾语代词 → Le gusta nadarjugar fútbol 需要加 al,且动词 jugar 为特殊变位 (u → ue)。

Corrected version: Mi familia es grande. Tengo dos hermanas. Mi hermana mayor se llama Sofía. Ella tiene quince años y es alta. A ella le gusta nadar. Mi hermano pequeño juega al fútbol.

修正版本:Mi familia es grande. Tengo dos hermanas. Mi hermana mayor se llama Sofía. Ella tiene quince años y es alta. A ella le gusta nadar. Mi hermano pequeño juega al fútbol.

When revising writing, always check three things: subject-verb agreement, adjective-noun agreement, and correct use of special verbs like gustar or llamarse. It is better to write simple, accurate sentences than complicated ones full of errors.

修改写作时,务必核对三点:主谓一致、形容词与名词配合、以及特殊动词(如 gustarllamarse)的正确使用。宁愿写简单而准确的句子,也不要写充满错误的复杂句。

8. Case Study 7: Speaking Practice – Role-play at a Restaurant | 案例七:口语练习——餐厅角色扮演

Situation: You are a customer in a Spanish restaurant. The teacher gives you a role card saying: ‘Quieres pedir una mesa para dos personas. Pregunta por el menú del día.’ (You want a table for two. Ask about the set menu.)

情景:你在一家西班牙餐厅扮演顾客。老师给你一张角色卡,上面写着:“你想要一张两人桌,询问每日套餐。”

A student says: ‘Quiero una mesa para dos. ¿Qué es el menú del día?’ The intention is clear, but culturally and linguistically, a better opening would be ‘Buenas tardes. ¿Tiene una mesa para dos, por favor?’ and then ‘¿Cuál es el menú del día?’ The verb ser (es) is less natural here than cuál when asking for a definition.

学生说:‘Quiero una mesa para dos. ¿Qué es el menú del día?’ 意图明确,但从文化和语言角度看,更好的开场是:‘Buenas tardes. ¿Tiene una mesa para dos, por favor?’,紧接着 ‘¿Cuál es el menú del día?’ 询问定义时用 cuálqué es 更自然。

Examiner tip: In CIE speaking assessments, you earn marks for suitable greetings, polite forms (por favor, gracias), and the ability to sustain a brief conversation. Practise variations: asking for the bill (la cuenta), ordering food (quisiera pedir…), and handling the waiter’s follow-up questions.

考官提示:在 CIE 口语评估中,适当的问候语、礼貌用语(por favorgracias)以及维持简短对话的能力可以为你赢得分数。练习不同场景变体:结账(la cuenta)、点餐(quisiera pedir…)以及回应服务员的追问。

9. Case Study 8: Preposition Pitfalls – a, de, en | 案例八:介词陷阱——a, de, en

Student tries to say ‘I go to the park with my friends’: Voy al parque con mis amigos. This is correct. But then the student writes: El parque es cerca de mi casa. The error: es cerca should be está cerca. Location uses estar, not ser. Also, cerca de is a fixed phrase.

学生想说“我和朋友去公园”:Voy al parque con mis amigos. 正确。但接着写:El parque es cerca de mi casa. 错误在于 es cerca 应为 está cerca。表达位置用 estar,而非 ser。此外,cerca de 是固定短语。

Corrected: El parque está cerca de mi casa.

修正后:El parque está cerca de mi casa.

Another common preposition mix-up: Voy a pie (by foot) versus Voy en coche (by car). Do not say por pie. And a las ocho (at eight o’clock) but en verano (in summer). Keep a list of fixed prepositional phrases in your revision notes.

另一个常见介词混淆:Voy a pie(步行)对比 Voy en coche(开车)。不要用 por pie。还有 a las ocho(在八点)但 en verano(在夏天)。在复习笔记中整理固定介词短语清单。

10. Self-Correction and Revision Strategies | 自我修正与复习策略

All the case studies above reveal a recurring theme: successful Year 8 Spanish learners are not those who never make mistakes, but those who develop the habit of self-correction. After every written or spoken task, ask yourself three golden questions: Did I match the verb to the subject? Did I make adjectives agree? Did I use the correct preposition?

以上所有案例揭示了一个反复出现的主题:成功的 Year 8 西班牙语学习者并非从不犯错,而是养成了自我修正的习惯。每次完成书面或口语任务后,问自己三个黄金问题:我把动词和主语搭配对了吗?形容词配合了吗?介词用对了吗?

Build a personal error log. For instance, if you often forget to change gusta to gustan for plural objects, write that rule in your own words and stick it on your wall. Use colour coding: red for verb endings, yellow for prepositional phrases, green for adjective agreement. The act of physically organising mistakes helps your brain store the patterns more effectively.

建立个人错题日志。例如,如果你经常忘记将复数事物的 gusta 改为 gustan,就把这条规则用自己的话写下来并贴在墙上。用颜色编码:红色代表动词词尾,黄色代表介词短语,绿色代表形容词配合。动手整理错误的过程能帮助大脑更有效地储存语言模式。

Finally, practise with timed case study challenges. Take a short paragraph full of deliberate errors and try to correct it in 3 minutes. Then check against the model answer. Repeat regularly, and you will notice a sharp improvement in accuracy across all four skills.

最后,尝试限时案例挑战练习。拿一段故意布满错误的短文,尝试在 3 分钟内修改好,再与标准答案对照。定期重复练习,你会发现所有四项技能的准确性都有明显提升。
