1. Present Tense Regular Verb Conjugation | 现在时规则动词变位

For regular verbs, the stem stays the same and you add the correct ending to match the subject. The pattern for ‘spielen’ (to play) is: stem ‘spiel-‘ plus endings.

对于规则动词,词干保持不变,你只需添加与主语匹配的正确词尾。“spielen”(玩)的模式是:词干“spiel-”加词尾。

Subject Ending Example (spielen)
ich -e ich spiele
du -st du spielst
er/sie/es -t er spielt
wir -en wir spielen
ihr -t ihr spielt
sie/Sie -en sie spielen

Rule formula: stem + ending. For verbs whose stem ends in -d, -t, -m or -n after a consonant, add an -e- before the -st and -t endings (e.g. du arbeitest).

规则公式:词干 + 词尾。对于词干以 -d、-t、-m 或辅音后的 -n 结尾的动词,在 -st 和 -t 词尾前加 -e-(例如 du arbeitest)。

2. The Irregular Verb ‘sein’ (to be) | 不规则动词“sein”(是)

‘Sein’ is the most important irregular verb. Its forms must be memorised because they do not follow the regular pattern.

“Sein”是最重要的不规则动词。它的形式必须记住,因为它们不遵循规则模式。

Subject Form of ‘sein’
ich bin
du bist
er/sie/es ist
wir sind
ihr seid
sie/Sie sind

Think of it as your ‘to be’ formula: subject + form of sein. Use it with adjectives, nouns and locations.

把它当作你的“是”公式:主语 + sein 的形式。用于形容词、名词和地点。

3. The Irregular Verb ‘haben’ (to have) | 不规则动词“haben”(有)

Like ‘sein’, ‘haben’ is highly irregular and very common. Learn its present-tense forms by heart.

像“sein”一样,“haben”非常不规则且非常常用。熟记它的现在时形式。

Subject Form of ‘haben’
ich habe
du hast
er/sie/es hat
wir haben
ihr habt
sie/Sie haben

Formula: subject + form of haben (+ noun in accusative). For example: Ich habe einen Bruder (I have a brother).

公式:主语 + haben 的形式(+ 宾格名词)。例如:Ich habe einen Bruder(我有一个兄弟)。

4. Word Order in Main Clauses – The ‘Verb Second’ Rule | 主句中的语序——“动词第二位”规则

In a main clause (a statement), the conjugated verb is always the second idea. The first idea can be the subject, an adverb, a time phrase or an object, but the verb stays in position 2.

在主句(陈述句)中,变位动词总是占据第二个成分。第一个成分可以是主语、副词、时间短语或宾语,但动词保持在第二位。

Idea 1 + Verb + Idea 3 + …

Examples:

例子:

  • Ich spiele heute Fußball. (I play football today.)
  • Heute spiele ich Fußball. (Today I play football.) – The verb ‘spiele’ is still second.

In yes/no questions, the verb comes first: Verb + Subject + …?

在一般疑问句中,动词放在第一位:动词 + 主语 + …?

5. Forming Questions | 构成疑问句

There are two main types of questions. Yes/no questions start with the verb. W-questions start with a question word.

主要有两种类型的疑问句。一般疑问句以动词开头。特殊疑问句以疑问词开头。

Yes/no formula: Verb + Subject + Rest of sentence? Example: Spielst du Tennis? (Do you play tennis?)

一般疑问句公式:动词 + 主语 + 句子其余部分? 例如:Spielst du Tennis?(你打网球吗?)

W-question formula: Question word + Verb + Subject + …? Question words include: wer (who), was (what), wo (where), wann (when), warum (why), wie (how).

特殊疑问句公式:疑问词 + 动词 + 主语 + …? 疑问词包括:wer(谁)、was(什么)、wo(在哪里)、wann(什么时候)、warum(为什么)、wie(怎样)。

6. The Accusative Case for Direct Objects | 直接宾语的宾格

In German, the direct object (the thing directly acted upon) takes the accusative case. The biggest change is to masculine nouns: ‘der’ becomes ‘den’, ‘ein’ becomes ‘einen’.

在德语中,直接宾语(直接被作用的事物)使用宾格。最大的变化体现在阳性名词上:“der”变成“den”,“ein”变成“einen”。

Accusative formula: Subject + Verb + Accusative Object. The accusative forms are:

宾格公式:主语 + 动词 + 宾格宾语。宾格形式如下:

Gender Nominative Accusative
Masculine der / ein den / einen
Feminine die / eine die / eine
Neuter das / ein das / ein
Plural die / – die / –

Example: Ich sehe den Hund. (I see the dog.) – ‘Hund’ is masculine, so ‘der’ → ‘den’.

例如:Ich sehe den Hund.(我看见那只狗。)—— “Hund”是阳性,所以“der”变成“den”。

7. Modal Verbs in the Present Tense | 现在时情态动词

Modal verbs (können, müssen, wollen, dürfen, sollen, mögen) change the main verb’s position. The modal verb is conjugated and goes in position 2; the main verb goes to the end in the infinitive.

情态动词(können、müssen、wollen、dürfen、sollen、mögen)会改变主要动词的位置。情态动词变位后放在第二位;主要动词以不定式形式放在句末。

Formula: Subject + Modal Verb (conjugated) + … + Infinitive at the end.

公式:主语 + 情态动词(变位)+ … + 不定式在句末

Present tense of ‘können’ (can) as a model: ich kann, du kannst, er kann, wir können, ihr könnt, sie können.

以“können”(能够)的现在时为例:ich kann, du kannst, er kann, wir können, ihr könnt, sie können.

Example: Ich kann gut schwimmen. (I can swim well.)

例如:Ich kann gut schwimmen.(我游泳游得很好。)

8. Expressing Future Plans with ‘going to’ Equivalent | 用“werden”表达将来计划

To talk about the future, you can use the present tense with a time phrase, or you can use the verb ‘werden’ + infinitive. Year 8 often uses the ‘werden’ construction to express intention.

要谈论将来,你可以用现在时加上时间短语,或者使用动词“werden” + 不定式。Year 8 常使用“werden”结构来表达意图。

Formula: Subject + werden (conjugated) + … + Infinitive at the end.

公式:主语 + werden(变位)+ … + 不定式在句末

Present tense of ‘werden’: ich werde, du wirst, er/sie/es wird, wir werden, ihr werdet, sie werden.

“werden”的现在时:ich werde, du wirst, er/sie/es wird, wir werden, ihr werdet, sie werden.

Example: Ich werde morgen ins Kino gehen. (I will go to the cinema tomorrow.)

例如:Ich werde morgen ins Kino gehen.(我明天将去看电影。)

9. Prepositions with the Accusative or Dative | 支配宾格或与格的介词

Many prepositions always take a specific case. The most common ones in Year 8 are: für (for) and mit (with). ‘Für’ takes the accusative, ‘mit’ takes the dative.

许多介词总是支配特定的格。Year 8 中最常见的是:für(为了)和 mit(和……一起)。“für”支配宾格,“mit”支配与格。

Formula for ‘für’: für + accusative noun/pronoun. Example: Das Geschenk ist für meinen Bruder. (The present is for my brother.) – ‘meinen Bruder’ is accusative.

“für”的公式:für + 宾格名词/代词。例如:Das Geschenk ist für meinen Bruder.(礼物是给我兄弟的。)—— “meinen Bruder”是宾格。

Formula for ‘mit’: mit + dative noun/pronoun. Dative changes: der → dem (masculine/neuter), die → der (feminine), die → den + -n on noun (plural). Example: Ich fahre mit dem Bus. (I go by bus.) – ‘der Bus’ becomes ‘dem Bus’ in dative.

“mit”的公式:mit + 与格名词/代词。与格变化:der → dem(阳/中性),die → der(阴性),die → den + 名词加 -n(复数)。例如:Ich fahre mit dem Bus.(我乘公共汽车。)—— “der Bus”在与格中变成“dem Bus”。

10. Adjective Endings After Indefinite Articles (Nominative and Accusative) | 不定冠词后的形容词词尾(主格和宾格)

When an adjective comes between an indefinite article (ein/eine/ein) and a noun, the adjective takes an ending that shows the gender and case. This is a key Year 8 rule.

宾格公式:einen/eine/ein + 形容词词尾 + 名词。词尾:阳性 -en,阴性 -e,中性 -es。

Examples: Ein großer Hund (a big dog, nom.) – Ich sehe einen großen Hund (I see a big dog, acc.). Eine nette Lehrerin (a nice teacher, nom.) – Ich habe eine nette Lehrerin (I have a nice teacher, acc.).

例子:Ein großer Hund(一只大狗,主格)—— Ich sehe einen großen Hund(我看见一只大狗,宾格)。Eine nette Lehrerin(一位好老师,主格)—— Ich habe eine nette Lehrerin(我有一位好老师,宾格)。

11. Negative Sentences with ‘nicht’ and ‘kein’ | 用“nicht”和“kein”构成否定句

To make a sentence negative, use ‘nicht’ to negate verbs, adjectives or adverbs, and ‘kein’ to negate nouns with indefinite articles or no article.

要构成否定句,用“nicht”否定动词、形容词或副词,用“kein”否定带不定冠词或无冠词的名词。

Formula for ‘nicht’: Place ‘nicht’ after the conjugated verb, before the element you want to negate, or at the end of the clause. Usually, it goes after the verb and the object: Ich spiele Tennis nicht. But more commonly: Ich spiele nicht Tennis.

“nicht”的公式:将“nicht”放在变位动词之后、你想要否定的成分之前,或从句末。 通常它放在动词和宾语之后:Ich spiele Tennis nicht。但更常见的是:Ich spiele nicht Tennis。

Formula for ‘kein’: kein- + noun (with appropriate ending to match case and gender). ‘kein’ takes the same endings as ‘ein’. Example: Ich habe keinen Hund. (I don’t have a dog.) – masculine accusative: keinen.

“kein”的公式:kein- + 名词(搭配适当的词尾以匹配格和性)。 “kein”带与“ein”相同的词尾。例如:Ich habe keinen Hund.(我没有狗。)—— 阳性宾格:keinen。

12. Telling the Time – Functional Formulae | 报时——功能性公式

Year 8 learners are expected to use the 24-hour clock and familiar time expressions. The basic formula is: Es ist + time + Uhr.

Year 8 学生应会使用 24 小时制及熟悉的时间表达。基本公式是:Es ist + 时间 + Uhr

Examples: Es ist neun Uhr. (It is nine o’clock.) Es ist halb zehn. (It is half past nine – literally half to ten.) Es ist Viertel nach drei. (It is quarter past three.)

例子:Es ist neun Uhr.(现在是九点。)Es ist halb zehn.(现在是九点半——字面意思是半到十点。)Es ist Viertel nach drei.(现在是三点一刻。)

Use ‘um’ for times on the clock: Um wie viel Uhr? – Um acht Uhr. (At what time? – At eight o’clock.)

使用“um”表示在钟点:Um wie viel Uhr? – Um acht Uhr.(在几点?——在八点。)
