📚 WJEC Year 9 Spanish: Common Errors and Corrections | Year 9 WJEC 西班牙语常见误区与纠正方法

As Year 9 students progress in their WJEC Spanish studies, certain patterns of mistakes keep emerging. These errors often stem from translating directly from English or not fully grasping Spanish grammar rules. This guide highlights the most common pitfalls and provides clear corrections to help you improve your accuracy and confidence.

随着 Year 9 学生在 WJEC 西班牙语课程中不断深入,一些错误模式反复出现。这些误区往往源于从英语直译或未能完全掌握西班牙语的语法规则。本指南将指出最常见的陷阱并提供清晰的纠正方法,帮助你提高准确性和自信心。

1. Ser vs. Estar Confusion | Ser 与 Estar 的混淆

Many students use ser when estar is required. A typical mistake is saying ‘Soy en la clase’ instead of ‘Estoy en la clase’. Ser is used for permanent characteristics, origin, and time, while estar is for locations, conditions, and ongoing states.

许多学生在该用 estar 的时候用了 ser。一个典型错误是说 ‘Soy en la clase’,而正确的说法是 ‘Estoy en la clase’。ser 用于表示永久特征、起源和时间,而 estar 用于位置、状态和暂时的情况。

Remember: ‘¿Cómo eres?’ asks about personality, but ‘¿Cómo estás?’ asks about how you are feeling right now. Similarly, ‘La comida es buena’ means food is good in general, but ‘La comida está buena’ means this particular dish tastes good today.

记住:’¿Cómo eres?’ 询问性格,’¿Cómo estás?’ 询问当下感受。同样,’La comida es buena’ 指食物总体上是好的,而 ‘La comida está buena’ 表示这道菜今天尝起来不错。

2. Gustar and Similar Verbs | Gustar 及类似动词用法错误

The verb gustar does not work like the English ‘to like’. Instead of saying ‘I like’, you say ‘it pleases me’. A common error is ‘Me gusta los gatos’ (wrong) instead of ‘Me gustan los gatos’ because the subject (‘los gatos’) is plural.

动词 gustar 的用法与英语 ‘to like’ 不同。不是 ‘我喜欢’,而是 ‘它使我喜欢’。常见错误是 ‘Me gusta los gatos’(错),应为 ‘Me gustan los gatos’,因为主语 ‘los gatos’ 是复数。

Also, students often forget the indirect object pronouns: me, te, le, nos, os, les. ‘A mí me gusta’, ‘A ti te gusta’ etc. Another mistake is saying ‘Yo gusto el chocolate’ which means ‘I am pleasing to the chocolate’ — completely wrong!

此外,学生经常忘记间接宾语代词:me, te, le, nos, os, les。比如 ‘A mí me gusta’、’A ti te gusta’ 等。另一个错误是说 ‘Yo gusto el chocolate’,意思是 ‘我让巧克力喜欢’——完全错误!

3. Adjective-Noun Agreement | 形容词与名词性数一致

Adjectives must match the noun in gender and number. Common mistakes include ‘la casa blanco’, ‘los chicos alto’, or ‘una problema difícil’. ‘Casa’ is feminine, so it should be ‘la casa blanca’. ‘Chicos’ is masculine plural, so ‘los chicos altos’. ‘Problema’ is masculine despite ending in -a, so ‘un problema difícil’.

形容词必须与名词的性和数一致。常见错误包括 ‘la casa blanco’、’los chicos alto’,或 ‘una problema difícil’。’casa’ 是阴性,应为 ‘la casa blanca’;’chicos’ 是阳性复数,应为 ‘los chicos altos’;’problema’ 以 -a 结尾却是阳性,所以用 ‘un problema difícil’。

Watch out for irregular nouns: ‘el problema’ is masculine, ‘la mano’ is feminine. Also, adjectives ending in -e or -ista are the same for both genders, e.g., ‘interesante’, ‘optimista’.

注意不规则名词:’el problema’ 是阳性,’la mano’ 是阴性。此外,以 -e 或 -ista 结尾的形容词不受性别变化影响,例如 ‘interesante’、’optimista’。

4. Por vs. Para Misuse | Por 与 Para 的误用

Both por and para can mean ‘for’, but they have distinct uses. A typical error is ‘Voy por comprar leche’ instead of ‘Voy para comprar leche’ to express purpose. Para indicates destination, purpose or deadline; por indicates duration, cause, or means.

porpara 都可以翻译为 ‘for’,但用途不同。典型错误是 ‘Voy por comprar leche’,而表达目的应用 ‘Voy para comprar leche’。para 表示目的地、目的或截止日期;por 表示持续时间、原因或方式。

To remember: para = ‘in order to’, ‘for the benefit of’, ‘toward’; por = ‘through’, ‘because of’, ‘in exchange for’. Practice sentences: ‘Estudio para aprender’ (purpose) vs. ‘Gracias por la ayuda’ (cause).

记忆方法:para = ‘为了’、’给’、’朝向’;por = ‘通过’、’因为’、’交换’。练习句子:’Estudio para aprender’(目的)对比 ‘Gracias por la ayuda’(原因)。

5. Irregular Present Tense Verbs | 现在时常见不规则动词变位

Year 9 students often stumble on high-frequency irregular verbs. Common mistakes: ‘yo teno’ for tengo (tener), ‘haco’ for hago (hacer), ‘iro’ for voy (ir). These verbs must be memorised.

Year 9 学生常在常用不规则动词上犯错。常见错误:’yo teno’ 应为 tengo (tener),’haco’ 应为 hago (hacer),’iro’ 应为 voy (ir)。这些动词需要死记硬背。

Use a table to drill:

Pronoun Tener Hacer Ir
yo tengo hago voy
tienes haces vas
él/ella/usted tiene hace va
nosotros tenemos hacemos vamos
vosotros tenéis hacéis vais
ellos/ellas/ustedes tienen hacen van

Also watch for stem-changing verbs like poder (puedo, puedes…) or pedir (pido, pides…).

还要注意词干变化动词,例如 poder(puedo, puedes…)或 pedir(pido, pides…)。

6. Placement of Direct and Indirect Object Pronouns | 宾语代词的语序问题

In Spanish, object pronouns usually go before a conjugated verb. Error: ‘Veo lo’ instead of ‘Lo veo’. When using an infinitive or gerund, you can attach the pronoun to the end: ‘Voy a verlo’ or ‘Lo voy a ver’.

在西班牙语中,宾语代词通常位于变位动词 。错误:’Veo lo’,应为 ‘Lo veo’。当使用不定式或副动词时,代词可以附着在动词末尾:’Voy a verlo’ 或 ‘Lo voy a ver’。

Double object pronouns can be confusing. Remember the order: indirect then direct. ‘Me lo das’ (you give it to me), not ‘Lo me das’. Also, ‘le lo’ changes to ‘se lo’: ‘Se lo doy’ (I give it to him).

双宾语代词可能令人困惑。记住顺序:间接宾语在前,直接宾语在后。’Me lo das’(你把它给我),而不是 ‘Lo me das’。此外,’le lo’ 变为 ‘se lo’:’Se lo doy’(我把它给他)。

7. False Friends with English | 英语形近异义词

False friends are words that look similar but have different meanings. Students often misuse ’embarazada’ thinking it means ’embarrassed’; it actually means ‘pregnant’. ‘Actualmente’ means ‘currently’, not ‘actually’.

假朋友是指形式相似但意思不同的词。学生经常误用 ’embarazada’,以为表示 ‘尴尬’,实际意思是 ‘怀孕’。’Actualmente’ 意为 ‘目前’,不是 ‘实际上’。
