1. Present Tense: Regular -ER, -IR, -RE Verbs | 现在时:规则动词变位

The present tense is used for actions happening now, habitual actions and universal truths. Regular French verbs fall into three groups according to their infinitive endings: -ER, -IR and -RE. To conjugate, remove the infinitive ending and add the appropriate present-tense endings.

现在时用来描述正在发生的动作、习惯性动作和普遍事实。规则动词按词尾分为 -ER、-IR 和 -RE 三类。变位时去掉词尾,加上对应的人称词尾即可。

Example with parler (to speak): je parle, tu parles, il/elle parle, nous parlons, vous parlez, ils/elles parlent.

Four verbs are absolutely essential: être (to be), avoir (to have), aller (to go) and faire (to do/make). Their present-tense forms do not follow regular patterns, so learn them by heart.

四个核心动词必须烂熟于心:être(是)、avoir(有)、aller(去)和 faire(做)。它们的现在时变位没有规则可循,一定要背下来。

Verb je tu il/elle nous vous ils/elles
être suis es est sommes êtes sont
avoir ai as a avons avez ont
aller vais vas va allons allez vont
faire fais fais fait faisons faites font

Other common irregular verbs include pouvoir (can), vouloir (to want), devoir (to have to) and voir (to see). For OCR, you should recognise their je, tu, il/elle/on and ils/elles forms confidently.

其他常见不规则动词还有 pouvoir(能)、vouloir(想要)、devoir(必须)和 voir(看见)。在 OCR 考试中,需要熟练辨认它们在不同人称下的变位,尤其是 je、tu、il/elle/on 和 ils/elles 的形式。

3. Reflexive Verbs | 反身动词

Reflexive verbs describe actions you do to yourself, e.g. se laver (to wash oneself). They always use a reflexive pronoun (me, te, se, nous, vous, se) that matches the subject. In the present tense, the pronoun is placed before the verb.

反身动词表示动作作用于主语自身,比如 se laver(洗澡)。动词前面需要有与主语一致的反身代词:me, te, se, nous, vous, se。现在时中,代词放在动词之前。

Example: je me lave, tu te laves, il/elle se lave, nous nous lavons, vous vous lavez, ils/elles se lavent. Remember that when followed by a vowel, me/te/se become m’/t’/s’.

例如:je me lave, tu te laves, il/elle se lave, nous nous lavons, vous vous lavez, ils/elles se lavent。当后面跟着元音时,me/te/se 要缩写成 m’/t’/s’。

4. Perfect Tense (Passé Composé) with Avoir and Être | 复合过去时:用 avoir 和 être 构成

The perfect tense is used to talk about a completed action in the past. It is formed with the present tense of avoir or être plus the past participle of the main verb.

复合过去时用来谈论在过去已经完成的动作。它的构成是 avoir 或 être 的现在时加上主要动词的过去分词。

Most verbs use avoir: j’ai mangé, tu as fini, il a vendu. The past participle of -ER verbs ends in -é, -IR verbs in -i, and -RE verbs in -u. Some common irregular past participles include: fait (faire), bu (boire), pris (prendre), vu (voir), écrit (écrire).

大部分动词用 avoir:j’ai mangé, tu as fini, il a vendu。-ER 动词的过去分词以 -é 结尾,-IR 以 -i 结尾,-RE 以 -u 结尾。常见的不规则过去分词有:fait(faire)、bu(boire)、pris(prendre)、vu(voir)、écrit(écrire)。

A small group of verbs use être, mainly movement and reflexive verbs. The acronym MRS VANDERTRAMP helps remember them (e.g. aller → allé, venir → venu, partir → parti). With être, the past participle agrees with the subject: elle est allée, nous sommes partis.

少数动词使用 être,主要是位移动词和反身动词。助记词 MRS VANDERTRAMP 可以帮你记住它们(如 aller → allé, venir → venu, partir → parti)。使用 être 时,过去分词要与主语性数配合:elle est allée, nous sommes partis。

5. Imperfect Tense (Imparfait) | 未完成过去时

The imperfect describes what was happening, used to happen, or continuous states in the past. It is formed by taking the ‘nous’ form of the present tense, removing -ons, and adding: -ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez, -aient.

未完成过去时用来描述过去正在发生或习惯性发生的动作,以及过去的持续状态。它的构成是:取现在时 nous 的变位,去掉 -ons,加上词尾:-ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez, -aient。

For example, parler → nous parlons → je parlais, tu parlais, il parlait, nous parlions, vous parliez, ils parlaient. The only exception is être, whose imperfect stem is ét-: j’étais, tu étais, etc.

例如:parler → nous parlons → je parlais, tu parlais, il parlait, nous parlions, vous parliez, ils parlaient。唯一例外是 être,它的词干是 ét-:j’étais, tu étais 等。

6. Imperfect vs. Perfect Tense | 未完成过去时与复合过去时的区别

OCR expects you to use these two past tenses together. The perfect tense is for a specific completed action; the imperfect sets the scene, describes ongoing background conditions, or repeated habits. When you see ‘Quand j’étais petit…’, imperfect usually follows.

OCR 考试要求你能将两种过去时配合使用。复合过去时表示具体完成的事件;未完成过去时则用来铺陈背景、描述持续的处境或重复的习惯。看到 ‘Quand j’étais petit…’(当我小时候)时,后面通常用未完成过去时。

Example: Je regardais la télé quand le téléphone a sonné. (I was watching TV when the phone rang.) Here, ‘regardais’ is ongoing action (imperfect), and ‘a sonné’ is a single event (perfect).

例句:Je regardais la télé quand le téléphone a sonné.(我正在看电视,这时电话响了。)这里 regardais 是持续的动作(未完成过去时),a sonné 是单一事件(复合过去时)。

7. Near Future and Simple Future | 最近将来时和简单将来时

The near future (futur proche) is easy to form: present tense of aller + infinitive. Use it for things that are going to happen soon: je vais faire mes devoirs.

最近将来时很简单:aller 的现在时 + 动词不定式。用于很快会发生的事:je vais faire mes devoirs(我要做作业了)。

The simple future is used for more formal or distant future events. For regular -ER and -IR verbs, add endings -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont to the whole infinitive (e.g. je parlerai). For -RE verbs, drop the final -e first (je vendrai). Common irregular stems include: ser- (être), aur- (avoir), ir- (aller), fer- (faire), pourr- (pouvoir).

简单将来时用于较正式或较远的未来。规则 -ER 和 -IR 动词在不定式后直接加 -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont(如 je parlerai)。-RE 动词去掉最后的 -e 再加词尾(je vendrai)。常见不规则词干有:ser- (être), aur- (avoir), ir- (aller), fer- (faire), pourr- (pouvoir)。

8. Conditional Mood | 条件式

The conditional is used to express ‘would’ or polite requests. The stem is the same as the simple future stem, and the endings are the same as the imperfect endings: -ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez, -aient. For example, je voudrais (I would like) is a polite way to order food.

条件式用来表达“会…、想要…”或提出礼貌请求。它的词干与简单将来时词干相同,词尾则与未完成过去时完全一样:-ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez, -aient。比如 je voudrais(我想要)就是点餐时的礼貌说法。

Other useful conditionals: je serais (I would be), tu aurais (you would have), nous ferions (we would do), ils pourraient (they could). After ‘si’ clauses with imperfect, use the conditional: Si j’avais de l’argent, j’achèterais une voiture.

其他实用的条件式:je serais(我会是)、tu aurais(你会有)、nous ferions(我们会做)、ils pourraient(他们可以)。在 si 引导的未完成过去时从句后,主句用条件式:Si j’avais de l’argent, j’achèterais une voiture(如果我有钱,我就会买一辆车)。

9. Adjectives: Agreement and Position | 形容词的性数配合与位置

Most French adjectives agree in gender and number with the noun they describe. The feminine form typically adds an -e, and the plural adds an -s. However, many adjectives have irregular feminine forms: beau → belle, sportif → sportive, long → longue. Some adjectives, like ‘jeune’ or ‘bilingue’, remain the same in masculine and feminine.

大多数法语形容词需要与它修饰的名词保持性数一致。阴性形式通常加 -e,复数加 -s。但不少形容词的阴性形式是不规则的:beau → belle, sportif → sportive, long → longue。有些形容词如 jeune、bilingue 的阴阳性形式相同。

Most adjectives come after the noun, but a few common ones usually precede it: bon, mauvais, petit, grand, joli, jeune, vieux, nouveau, beau. Remember the BAGS rule (Beauty, Age, Goodness, Size).

大部分形容词放在名词之后,但少数常用形容词通常放在名词之前:bon, mauvais, petit, grand, joli, jeune, vieux, nouveau, beau。可以用 BAGS 规则来记(Beauty 美丑、Age 年龄、Goodness 好坏、Size 大小)。

10. Object Pronouns and Y / En | 直接/间接宾语代词与 Y、En

Direct object pronouns replace people or things that directly receive the action: me, te, le/la, nous, vous, les. They go before the verb. Example: Je mange la pomme → Je la mange.

直接宾语代词用来替代动作的直接承受者:me, te, le/la, nous, vous, les。它们放在动词前。例:Je mange la pomme → Je la mange(我吃那个苹果 → 我吃它)。

Indirect object pronouns replace people introduced by ‘à’: me, te, lui, nous, vous, leur. Example: Je parle à Marie → Je lui parle.

间接宾语代词替代由 à 引导的人:me, te, lui, nous, vous, leur。例:Je parle à Marie → Je lui parle(我和玛丽说话 → 我和她说话)。

The pronouns y (replaces à + place/thing) and en (replaces de + thing/quantity) are very common at GCSE. J’y vais (I go there), J’en ai deux (I have two of them).

代词 y(替代 à + 地点/事物)和 en(替代 de + 事物/数量)在 GCSE 中很常见:J’y vais(我去那儿),J’en ai deux(我有两个)。

11. Negatives and Asking Questions | 否定结构与提问方式

The basic negative is ne…pas wrapped around the verb: Je ne fume pas. In spoken French, ‘ne’ is often dropped, but for writing and exams keep it. Other negatives: ne…jamais (never), ne…plus (no longer), ne…rien (nothing), ne…personne (no one).

最基本的否定结构是 ne…pas,夹住变位动词:Je ne fume pas(我不抽烟)。口语中常省略 ne,但书写和考试时一定要保留。其他否定形式:ne…jamais(从不)、ne…plus(不再)、ne…rien(没什么)、ne…personne(没有人)。

To ask questions in French, you can: raise your voice at the end (Tu aimes le chocolat ?), add ‘est-ce que’ at the start (Est-ce que tu aimes le chocolat ?), or use inversion (Aimes-tu le chocolat ?). For OCR, you need to be able to use and understand all three forms.

法语中提问有三种方式:用升调(Tu aimes le chocolat ?)、句首加 est-ce que(Est-ce que tu aimes le chocolat ?)、或主谓倒装(Aimes-tu le chocolat ?)。OCR 要求能认出并运用这三种形式。

12. Key Vocabulary Themes: Identity and Culture | 核心词汇主题:身份与文化

OCR GCSE French revolves around three broad themes. In Year 10 you will have covered Identity and Culture extensively: relationships, family, friends, marriage, daily life, social media, hobbies, sports, and festivals. It pays to group words by topic when revising.

When you practise writing or speaking, try to include adjectives to extend your sentences and show agreement knowledge. For example: ‘Je fais du sport parce que c’est amusant et sain.’

练习写作或口语时,试着加入形容词来扩展句子,展示你掌握了性数配合。比如:Je fais du sport parce que c’est amusant et sain.(我做运动因为它既有趣又有益健康。)
