📚 Year 11 Cambridge Art: Vocabulary and Terminology Quick-Memorisation Guide | 剑桥 Year 11 艺术:词汇术语速记指南

Mastering art terminology is not about rote learning — it is about building a visual and conceptual vocabulary that allows you to articulate observations, analyse artworks with precision, and justify your own creative decisions under exam conditions. This guide organises the essential terms for Cambridge IGCSE Art & Design into logical clusters, each explained with memorable visual anchors, etymology hints, and paired bilingual sentences to accelerate both understanding and recall.

掌握艺术术语并非死记硬背,而是构建一套视觉与概念的词汇体系,让你能够在考试条件下精准地表达观察、分析艺术作品,并论证自己的创作决策。本指南将剑桥 IGCSE 艺术与设计课程的核心术语归纳为逻辑清晰的集群,每个术语都配有易记的视觉锚点、词源提示以及中英对照的例句,帮助你同时加速理解和记忆。

1. The Formal Elements: The Building Blocks of Visual Language | 形式元素:视觉语言的基石

The formal elements are the fundamental components that artists manipulate to create visual effects. Think of them as the ‘grammar’ of art — every artwork, regardless of style or medium, can be broken down into these seven categories. Memorising them is non-negotiable for Component 1 coursework analysis and the Component 2 externally set assignment.

形式元素是艺术家用来创造视觉效果的基本组成部分。可以将它们视为艺术的“语法”——任何艺术作品,无论风格或媒介如何,都可以被分解为这七个类别。记住这些元素对于 Component 1 课程作业分析和 Component 2 外部指定作业来说是不可或缺的。

  • Line — A mark with length and direction. Can be descriptive (outlining a shape), expressive (conveying emotion through jagged or flowing strokes), or implied (the edge of a form). Example: Van Gogh’s energetic, swirling lines in ‘Starry Night’ create a sense of turbulent movement.
  • 线条 — 具有长度和方向的标记。可以是描述性的(勾勒形状)、表现性的(通过锯齿状或流畅的笔触传达情感)或暗示性的(形体的边缘)。示例:梵高在《星夜》中充满活力的旋转线条营造出动荡不安的运动感。
  • Shape — A two-dimensional, enclosed area. Geometric shapes (circles, squares, triangles) suggest order and rationality; organic shapes (irregular, found in nature) suggest spontaneity and the natural world. Note the difference between positive shape (the subject) and negative shape (the space around it).
  • 形状 — 二维的封闭区域。几何形状(圆形、方形、三角形)暗示秩序与理性;有机形状(不规则、存在于自然界中)暗示自发性和自然世界。注意正形(主体)与负形(其周围空间)之间的区别。
  • Form — A three-dimensional object with volume and depth. In 2D work, artists create the illusion of form through shading, perspective, and chiaroscuro (strong contrasts between light and dark).
  • 形体 — 具有体积和深度的三维物体。在二维作品中,艺术家通过明暗、透视和明暗对照法(光与暗之间的强烈对比)来创造形体的错觉。
  • Texture — The surface quality of an object. Actual texture is physically tactile (impasto paint, collage); simulated texture is an illusion created through mark-making (drawn fur, painted wood grain).
  • 肌理/质感 — 物体的表面质量。实际肌理是物理上可触摸的(厚涂颜料、拼贴);模拟肌理是通过痕迹创造出来的错觉(画出的毛发、绘制的木纹)。
  • Colour/Hue — The visual perception of light wavelengths. Beyond the colour wheel, consider saturation (intensity), value (lightness or darkness), and temperature (warm versus cool).
  • 色彩/色相 — 对光波波长的视觉感知。超越色轮,还需考虑饱和度(强度)、明度(明暗程度)和色温(暖色与冷色)。
  • Tone/Value — The degree of lightness or darkness. A full tonal range from deep shadows to bright highlights creates dramatic, three-dimensional effects. High-contrast images feel stark; low-contrast images feel soft.
  • 色调/明度 — 明暗的程度。从深邃阴影到明亮高光的完满色调范围能够创造出戏剧性的三维效果。高对比度图像显得生硬分明;低对比度图像则显得柔和。
  • Space — The area within, around, or between components. Techniques to create depth include overlap, diminishing scale, atmospheric perspective (distant objects become paler and less detailed), and linear perspective.
  • 空间 — 组成部分内部、周围或之间的区域。创造深度的技法包括重叠、渐缩比例、空气透视(远处物体变得更淡、细节更少)以及线性透视。

2. Principles of Design: How Elements Are Organised | 设计原则:元素如何被组织

If the formal elements are the ingredients, the principles of design are the recipe. These concepts describe how artists arrange elements to achieve unity, guide the viewer’s eye, and communicate meaning. Cambridge examiners consistently reward candidates who can name the specific principle at work rather than simply describing what they see.

如果形式元素是食材,那么设计原则就是食谱。这些概念描述了艺术家如何安排元素以达到统一性、引导观者的视线并传达意义。剑桥考官一贯青睐那些能够说出起作用的具体原则、而不仅仅是描述所见内容的考生。

Principle 原则 Memory Anchor 记忆锚点
Balance — Distribution of visual weight. Symmetrical balance is like a mirror image; asymmetrical balance uses dissimilar elements to achieve equilibrium (a large pale shape balanced by a small dark one). Think of a seesaw — equal weight does not always mean identical objects. 想象跷跷板——等量并不总意味着相同的物体。
Contrast — Juxtaposition of opposing elements (light/dark, rough/smooth, large/small) to create visual interest and focal points. The greater the difference, the stronger the punch. 差异越大,冲击越强。
Emphasis/Focal Point — The area that first attracts the viewer’s attention. Achieved through contrast, isolation, placement, or convergence of lines. Your eye lands here first. 你的视线首先落在这里。
Movement — The path the viewer’s eye follows. Artists create movement through directional lines, repetition, and gradation. Visual choreography. 视觉编排。
Pattern — The repeating of an element or motif. Regular pattern feels orderly; irregular pattern feels organic and dynamic. Rhythm made visible. 可视化的节奏。
Proportion — The size relationship between parts. Distorted proportion can convey psychological states or symbolic meaning. Scale tells a story. 比例讲述故事。
Unity/Harmony — The cohesive quality that makes an artwork feel complete. Achieved through repetition, proximity, and a consistent colour palette. Everything belongs together. 万物归位。

3. Colour Theory: The Precision Vocabulary | 色彩理论:精准词汇

Describing a colour as simply ‘blue’ is insufficient for IGCSE analysis. You need the vocabulary to articulate precise relationships and psychological effects. The colour wheel is your foundation, but these terms will elevate your annotation from descriptive to analytical.

将一种颜色仅仅描述为“蓝色”对于 IGCSE 分析来说是远远不够的。你需要用词汇来表达精确的色彩关系和心理效果。色轮是基础,但这些术语将把你的评注从描述性提升到分析性层面。

  • Primary Colours — Red, yellow, blue. Cannot be created by mixing other colours. 三原色——红、黄、蓝。无法通过混合其他颜色得到。
  • Secondary Colours — Orange, green, violet. Created by mixing two primaries. 间色——橙、绿、紫。通过混合两种原色得到。
  • Tertiary Colours — Red-orange, yellow-green, etc. Created by mixing a primary with an adjacent secondary. 复色——红橙色、黄绿色等。通过混合原色与相邻间色得到。
  • Complementary Colours — Colours opposite each other on the colour wheel (red-green, blue-orange, yellow-violet). Placed side by side, they intensify each other; mixed together, they neutralise to brown/grey. 互补色——色轮上彼此相对的颜色(红-绿、蓝-橙、黄-紫)。并置时相互强化;混合时中和为棕色/灰色。
  • Analogous Colours — Colours adjacent on the colour wheel. They create harmonious, restful compositions with low contrast. 类似色——色轮上相邻的颜色。营造和谐、宁静且低对比度的构图。
  • Tint — A colour plus white. Increases value, reduces saturation. 淡色——一种颜色加白色。提高明度,降低饱和度。
  • Shade — A colour plus black. Decreases value, deepens intensity. 暗色——一种颜色加黑色。降低明度,加深强度。
  • Tone — A colour plus grey. Reduces saturation without dramatically altering value. 色调——一种颜色加灰色。降低饱和度,但不大幅改变明度。

Colour Temperature: Warm colours (reds, oranges, yellows) advance → feel active, energetic. Cool colours (blues, greens, violets) recede → feel calm, contemplative.

色温:暖色(红、橙、黄)前进 → 感觉活跃、充满能量。冷色(蓝、绿、紫)后退 → 感觉平静、引人沉思。

4. Painting and Drawing Media: Naming Your Materials Correctly | 绘画与素描媒介:准确命名你的材料

In your portfolio annotations and the final examination’s supporting studies, you must demonstrate technical vocabulary related to your chosen media. Referring to ‘water paints’ instead of ‘watercolour’ or ‘scratchy pen’ instead of ‘drypoint’ signals a lack of technical engagement. Precision matters.

在你的作品集评注和期末考试的支持性习作中,你必须展示与所选媒介相关的技术词汇。称水彩为“water paints”而非“watercolour”,或称干刻法为“scratchy pen”而非“drypoint”,都表明缺乏技术性的深入参与。精确至关重要。

Medium 媒介 Key Characteristics 关键特征
Graphite pencil — graded H (hard, light line) to B (soft, dark line). HB is midpoint. 石墨铅笔 — 等级从 H(硬、浅色线条)到 B(软、深色线条)。HB 为中点。
Charcoal — compressed or willow. Produces rich, deep blacks; easily smudged for chiaroscuro effects. 炭笔/炭条 — 压缩炭笔或柳炭条。产生浓郁深邃的黑色;易于涂抹以实现明暗对照效果。
Pen and ink — dip pen, fineliner, or brush pen. Cross-hatching and stippling create tone without washes. 钢笔墨水 — 蘸水笔、针管笔或毛笔。通过交叉排线和点画法在不使用薄涂的情况下创造色调。
Watercolour — transparent, layered in washes. The white of the paper provides luminosity. 水彩 — 透明、以薄涂层叠加。纸张的白色提供亮度。
Gouache — opaque watercolour. Dries to a matte, velvety finish; allows painting light over dark. 水粉 — 不透明水彩。干燥后呈哑光、天鹅绒般的质感;允许在深色上叠加浅色。
Acrylic — fast-drying, water-soluble (when wet), water-resistant (when dry). Versatile: can mimic watercolour or oil depending on dilution. 丙烯 — 快干、湿时可溶于水、干后防水。用途广泛:根据稀释程度可模仿水彩或油画效果。
Oil paint — slow-drying, blendable. Rich, luminous colour due to oil binder’s refractive quality. Requires solvent for clean-up. 油画颜料 — 慢干、可混合。由于油性粘合剂的折射特性而呈现浓郁明亮的色彩。需用溶剂清洁。
Pastel — soft pastel (intense colour, fragile) or oil pastel (creamy, blendable). Velvety texture; fixative required. 色粉笔 — 软性色粉笔(色彩鲜艳、易碎)或油性色粉笔(奶油状、可混合)。天鹅绒质感;需定画液。

5. Printmaking Techniques: The Transfer Lexicon | 版画技法:转印词汇库

Printmaking terminology frequently appears in Cambridge examination papers, particularly when analysing works by artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Katsushika Hokusai, or contemporary practitioners. Understanding the process is key to using the terms correctly — each technique has a distinct visual signature.

版画术语频繁出现在剑桥考试试卷中,尤其是在分析阿尔布雷希特·丢勒、葛饰北斋或当代实践者的作品时。理解制作过程是正确使用术语的关键——每种技法都有独特的视觉特征。

  • Relief printing — The raised surface prints; recessed areas remain blank. Includes linocut (cutting into linoleum), woodcut (cutting into wood). The image is bold, with strong black-and-white contrast. 凸版印刷——凸起的表面着墨印刷;凹陷区域保持空白。包括麻胶版画(切割油毡)和木刻版画(切割木板)。图像大胆,具有强烈的黑白对比。
  • Intaglio — Ink sits in grooves below the plate surface. The plate is inked, wiped clean on the surface, then pressed under high pressure. Includes etching (acid bites into a metal plate) and drypoint (scratching directly into the plate, producing a characteristic velvety line called a ‘burr’). 凹版印刷——油墨驻留在印版表面以下的凹槽中。印版着墨后擦净表面,然后高压压印。包括蚀刻(酸腐蚀金属板)和干刻法(直接在版上刮刻,产生称为“毛刺”的特有绒毛状线条)。
  • Lithography — Planographic: printing from a flat surface. Based on the repulsion of oil and water. The artist draws with greasy crayon on limestone or metal plate; the image area accepts ink, the wet non-image area repels it. Capable of fine, continuous tone. 平版印刷——平版法:从平坦表面印刷。基于油水相斥原理。艺术家用油性蜡笔在石灰石或金属板上作画;图像区域接受油墨,湿润的非图像区域排斥油墨。能够呈现细腻的连续色调。
  • Screen printing/Silkscreen — Stencil-based. Ink is forced through a fine mesh onto paper or fabric. Areas blocked by the stencil remain unprinted. Associated with Pop Art (Andy Warhol) and bold, flat colour areas. 丝网印刷——基于模板。油墨被挤压通过细网到达纸张或织物上。被模板遮挡的区域保留空白。与波普艺术(安迪·沃霍尔)和大胆的平涂色块相关联。
  • Monoprint/Monotype — A one-off print. Ink is painted or rolled onto a smooth plate, then transferred to paper. The result is unique, though ghost prints (second, fainter pulls) are possible. 独幅版画——一次性印刷品。油墨被涂绘或滚压在光滑印版上,然后转印到纸张。结果是独一无二的,但也可制作幽灵版(第二次更淡的压印)。

6. Sculpture and 3D Design: Space, Mass, and Surface | 雕塑与三维设计:空间、体量与表面

When analysing sculpture — whether freestanding, relief, or installation — you must address how the work occupies and interacts with real space. The tactile, spatial nature of 3D work demands a distinct analytical vocabulary that differs from the language used for 2D images.

在分析雕塑时——无论是独立式、浮雕还是装置——你必须讨论作品如何占据并与真实空间互动。三维作品的可触、空间性特征要求一套有别于二维图像语言的独特分析词汇。

  • In the round/Freestanding — Sculpture designed to be viewed from all sides. The viewer must move around it to fully comprehend the form. 圆雕/独立式雕塑——设计用于从各个角度观看的雕塑。观者必须围绕它移动才能完全理解其形体。
  • Relief — Sculpture projecting from a flat background. High relief: figures project more than halfway from the surface. Low relief/bas-relief: figures project only slightly (coins are a common example). Sunken relief: the image is carved into the surface (ancient Egyptian technique). 浮雕——从平面背景上凸出的雕塑。高浮雕:人物从表面凸出超过一半。浅浮雕/低浮雕:人物仅略微凸出(硬币是常见例子)。沉雕:图像被刻入表面(古埃及技法)。
  • Assemblage — 3D collage. Constructed from found objects and diverse materials (wood, metal, fabric, plastic). Challenges traditional notions of sculptural materials. 集合艺术——三维拼贴。由现成物品和多种材料(木材、金属、织物、塑料)构建而成。挑战了传统的雕塑材料观念。
  • Armature — An internal framework supporting the sculptural material. In clay modelling, the armature prevents the wet clay from collapsing under its own weight. 骨架——支撑雕塑材料的内部框架。在黏土造型中,骨架可防止湿黏土因自身重量而坍塌。
  • Patina — The surface colouration of a sculpture, particularly bronze. Can develop naturally through oxidation over time or be chemically induced by the artist. A green patina on bronze is a sign of age and is often valued aesthetically. 铜绿/古色——雕塑的表面着色,尤指青铜。可随时间自然氧化形成,也可由艺术家通过化学方式诱导产生。青铜上的绿色铜锈是年代的标志,且在美学上常被珍视。
  • Kinetic sculpture — Sculpture that incorporates actual movement. Movement may be powered by air currents (Alexander Calder’s mobiles), motors, or audience interaction. 动态雕塑——包含实际运动的雕塑。运动可由气流(亚历山大·考尔德的动态雕塑)、马达或观众互动驱动。

7. Critical Analysis Vocabulary: Articulating Meaning and Intent | 批判性分析词汇:阐述意义与意图

Moving beyond description into genuine analysis requires a specific set of interpretive verbs and evaluative adjectives. These words form the bridge between what you see (formal elements) and what the artwork communicates (meaning, mood, message). Practise using them in full sentences during timed annotation exercises.

从描述进入真正的分析需要一组特定的解释性动词和评价性形容词。这些词语在所见(形式元素)与艺术作品所传达的内容(意义、情绪、信息)之间架起了桥梁。在定时批注练习中,练习将它们用于完整句子中。

  • Convey / Suggest / Evoke / Elicit — Use these verbs to link visual features to mood or meaning. Instead of ‘The painting is sad’, write ‘The muted, cool palette and downward-directed brushstrokes convey a pervasive sense of melancholy.’ 传达/暗示/唤起/引发——使用这些动词将视觉特征与情绪或意义联系起来。不要写“这幅画很悲伤”,而写“柔和、冷色调的调色板与向下导向的笔触传达出一种弥漫的忧郁感。”
  • Juxtapose — To place side by side for comparison and contrast. A powerful analytical term: ‘The artist juxtaposes organic, flowing forms with rigid geometric structures to explore the tension between nature and industrialisation.’ 并置——将两者放在一起进行比较和对比。一个强有力的分析术语:“艺术家将有机流动的形体与刚硬的几何结构并置,以探索自然与工业化之间的张力。”
  • Undermine / Subvert — To challenge or destabilise expectations. ‘By rendering a traditionally masculine subject in delicate, translucent watercolour, the artist subverts conventional gender associations.’ 削弱/颠覆——挑战或动摇预期。“通过用细腻、半透明的水彩表现传统上的男性主题,艺术家颠覆了传统的性别关联。”
  • Composition — The arrangement of elements within the frame. Specify the type: pyramidal (stable, harmonious, often religious), diagonal (dynamic, unstable), cruciform (cross-shaped, spiritual), rule of thirds (placing key elements at intersection points, creating visual tension and balance). 构图——画面内元素的排列。具体说明类型:金字塔式(稳定、和谐,常用于宗教题材)、对角线式(充满动感、不稳定)、十字形(十字架形状,精神性)、三分法(将关键元素置于交叉点,创造视觉张力与平衡)。
  • Medium-specific vocabulary — ‘The glaze’, ‘the impasto’, ‘the wash’, ‘the hatch’, ‘the burnish’. These terms show you understand the material process, not just the final image. 媒介特定词汇——“釉层”、“厚涂法”、“薄涂层”、“排线”、“抛光”。这些术语表明你理解材料过程,而不仅仅是最终图像。

8. Photography and Digital Media: The Lens-Based Lexicon | 摄影与数字媒体:基于镜头的词汇库

With the increasing integration of digital processes into the Cambridge syllabus, candidates must be equipped to discuss photographic, film, and digital artworks with the same precision expected of traditional media analysis. These terms bridge technology and aesthetics.

随着数字过程日益融入剑桥课程大纲,考生必须具备以传统媒介分析所期望的同样精度来讨论摄影、电影和数字艺术作品的能力。这些术语连接了技术与美学。

  • Aperture — The adjustable opening in the lens controlling light intake. Measured in f-stops (f/2.8 is wide → shallow depth of field, blurred background; f/16 is narrow → deep depth of field, everything in focus). 光圈——镜头中控制进光量的可调开口。以 f 值衡量(f/2.8 为大光圈 → 浅景深、背景模糊;f/16 为小光圈 → 深景深、所有内容清晰)。
  • Shutter speed — Duration the shutter remains open. Fast shutter (1/1000 sec) freezes motion; slow shutter (1 sec or longer) creates motion blur, suggesting movement and the passage of time. 快门速度——快门保持开启的持续时间。高速快门(1/1000 秒)凝固运动;慢速快门(1 秒或更长)产生运动模糊,暗示运动和时间流逝。
  • Depth of field — The zone of acceptable sharpness. Controlled by aperture, focal length, and distance to subject. Shallow depth isolates the subject; deep depth keeps foreground and background equally sharp. 景深——可接受的清晰区域。受光圈、焦距和与被摄体距离控制。浅景深隔离主体;深景深保持前景和背景同样清晰。
  • Composition in photography — Rule of thirds, leading lines, framing (using foreground elements to enclose the subject), symmetry, and negative space. 摄影中的构图——三分法、引导线、框架构图(利用前景元素包围主体)、对称和负空间。
  • Resolution — The level of detail captured, measured in pixels (digital) or line pairs per millimetre (analogue). Higher resolution allows larger prints without pixelation or loss of clarity. 分辨率——捕捉的细节水平,以像素(数字)或每毫米线对数(模拟)衡量。更高分辨率允许更大的打印尺寸而不会像素化或丧失清晰度。

9. Exam-Specific Command Words: Decoding What the Question Really Asks | 考试特定指令词:解读题目真正要求

Cambridge IGCSE Art & Design examination questions use precise command words that signal exactly what the examiner expects. Misinterpreting a command word is one of the most common and costly errors. Commit these to memory and practise identifying them in past papers.

剑桥 IGCSE 艺术与设计考试题目使用精确的指令词,以明确标示考官的期望。误解指令词是最常见且代价高昂的错误之一。将这些铭记于心,并练习在历年试卷中识别它们。

Command Word 指令词 What You Must Do 你必须做什么
Analyse Break down into component parts. Identify formal elements, principles of design, techniques, and explain how they work together to create meaning. Do not just describe. 分解为组成部分。识别形式元素、设计原则、技法,并解释它们如何共同作用以创造意义。不要只是描述。
Evaluate Make a judgement based on criteria. Discuss strengths and weaknesses, effectiveness, and impact. Use evidence to justify your opinion. 基于标准作出判断。讨论优势与劣势、有效性和影响力。使用证据来论证你的观点。
Compare Identify similarities and differences. Structure your answer to address both, not just one side. Use comparative language: ‘whereas’, ‘in contrast’, ‘similarly’. 识别相似之处不同之处。构建答案时要兼顾两者,而非仅谈一方面。使用比较性语言:“然而”、“相比之下”、“类似地”。
Discuss Present multiple perspectives or interpretations. Explore the topic from different angles; show that you understand complexity and nuance. 呈现多种视角或解读。从不同角度探讨主题;展示你理解其复杂性和细微差别。
Justify Provide reasons for your creative decisions or interpretations. Use ‘because’, ‘as a result of’, ‘due to’. Link every opinion to visual evidence. 为你的创作决定或解读提供理由。使用“因为”、“由于……的结果”、“鉴于”。将每个观点都与视觉证据联系起来。
Explore Investigate through experimentation. In the portfolio context, this means showing developmental work, variations, and reflective annotation on your process. 通过实验调查。在作品集语境中,这意味着展示发展性工作、变体以及对过程的反思性评注。

10. Quick-Memorisation Strategies: Making the Vocabulary Stick | 快速记忆策略:让词汇扎根

Knowing the definitions is only half the battle; you need to retrieve these terms fluently under timed conditions. The following evidence-based memorisation techniques have been adapted specifically for visual arts terminology and can be integrated into your revision routine immediately.

知道定义只是成功的一半;你需要在限时条件下流利地提取这些术语。以下基于证据的记忆技法专为视觉艺术术语改编,可立即融入你的复习日常中。

  • Visual Flashcards with Annotation — On one side, paste a cropped detail of an artwork. On the reverse, write 5-7 key terms that apply to that detail, with a brief justification for each. The image acts as a retrieval cue. 带评注的视觉闪卡——在一面贴上一幅艺术作品的裁剪细节。在背面写下适用于该细节的 5-7 个关键术语,并为每个术语附上简短的理由。图像充当提取线索。
  • The ‘One Artwork, Ten Terms’ Drill — Choose a single artwork (e.g., Picasso’s ‘Guernica’). Set a 5-minute timer and write down ten precise terms you could apply, each with a specific example of where and why it applies. This builds fluency and prevents the ‘freezing’ effect in exams. “一幅作品,十个术语”训练——选择一幅单一作品(例如毕加索的《格尔尼卡》)。设定 5 分钟计时器,写下你能够应用的十个精确术语,每个都附上具体例子说明它适用于何处及为何适用。这有助于培养流利度,防止考试中“卡壳”。
  • Etymology Clusters — Group terms by their Greek or Latin roots. ‘Mono’ (one) → monochrome, monoprint, monotype. ‘Chiaro’ (light) + ‘scuro’ (dark) → chiaroscuro. Understanding roots makes unfamiliar terms guessable. 词源集群——根据希腊语或拉丁语词根将术语分组。“Mono”(单一)→ 单色、独幅版画。“Chiaro”(光)+ “scuro”(暗)→ 明暗对照法。理解词根可以让不熟悉的术语变得可推测。
  • Teach-Back Method — Explain a term aloud to an imaginary student, using a real artwork example. If you cannot explain it clearly and simply, you do not yet understand it deeply enough for the exam. 回授法——向一位假想的学生大声解释一个术语,使用真实的艺术作品为例。如果你无法清晰简洁地解释它,说明你对它的理解还不足以应对考试。
  • Annotation Layers — Practise annotating your own work in three passes: first, identify the formal elements used (description); second, explain the design principles at work (analysis); third, evaluate the effectiveness and justify your choices (evaluation). This mirrors the exam’s progression. 批注分层——练习分三次对你的作品进行批注:第一遍,识别所使用的形式元素(描述);第二遍,解释起作用的设计原则(分析);第三遍,评估有效性并论证你的选择(评价)。这反映了考试的递进过程。
