1. Exam Structure at a Glance | 考试结构一览

AQA GCSE Chinese has four exam papers, each worth 25% of the final grade. The papers assess Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. Foundation tier covers grades 1–5, while Higher tier covers grades 4–9. All question papers are set in both English and Chinese, but responses must be in Chinese except for some listening and reading tasks where non-verbal answers or English are accepted.

AQA GCSE 中文包含四张试卷,各占总成绩的25%。试卷评估听力、口语、阅读和写作。基础级覆盖1–5级,高级覆盖4–9级。所有试题均以中英双语呈现,但除部分听力、阅读任务允许使用非语言答案或英语外,作答必须使用中文。

Paper Weighting Duration (F/H) Key Tasks
Listening (听力) 25% 35m / 45m Multiple choice, short answer, dictation-style items
Speaking (口语) 25% 7–9m / 10–12m Role-play, photo card, general conversation

Familiarising yourself with these timings and question types will help you pace your revision and know exactly what to expect on exam day.

熟悉这些时间安排和题型将帮助您合理规划复习进度,并准确了解考试当天的流程。

2. Core Vocabulary Themes | 核心词汇主题

The AQA specification organises vocabulary around three broad themes: Theme 1 – Identity and Culture, Theme 2 – Local, National, International and Global Areas of Interest, and Theme 3 – Current and Future Study and Employment. You should build a strong bank of nouns, verbs, adjectives, and set phrases for each sub-topic.

AQA 大纲围绕三大主题组织词汇:主题一 – 身份与文化,主题二 – 地方、国家、国际及全球兴趣领域,主题三 – 当前与未来的学习与就业。您需要为每个子话题积累丰富的名词、动词、形容词和固定搭配。

Below are some must-know sub-topics with example vocabulary:

以下是一些必学子话题及示例词汇:

  • Family (家庭): 爸爸 (father), 妈妈 (mother), 哥哥 (older brother), 妹妹 (younger sister), 独生子 (only child)
  • Daily Routine (日常生活): 起床 (get up), 刷牙 (brush teeth), 洗澡 (have a shower), 睡觉 (sleep)
  • Hobbies (爱好): 看书 (read), 听音乐 (listen to music), 踢足球 (play football), 上网 (surf the internet)
  • Holidays (假期): 海滩 (beach), 爬山 (climb mountains), 拍照 (take photos), 纪念品 (souvenir)
  • School (学校): 课程 (subject), 作业 (homework), 考试 (exam), 食堂 (canteen)
  • Future Plans (未来计划): 大学 (university), 专业 (major), 工作 (job), 梦想 (dream)

Active recall of these words in characters, pinyin, and English meaning is essential. Flashcards and mind maps work well for revision.

积极记忆这些汉字的字形、拼音和英文意思至关重要。使用抽认卡和思维导图进行复习效果很好。

3. Essential Grammar: Word Order and Questions | 基本语法:语序与疑问句

Chinese follows a Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) order, similar to English, but time phrases usually come before the verb. The basic structure is: Subject + Time + Place + Manner + Verb + Object. For example: ‘我每天在学校认真学习中文.’ (I study Chinese diligently at school every day.)

中文遵循主谓宾(SVO)语序,与英语相似,但时间状语通常置于动词之前。基本结构为:主语 + 时间 + 地点 + 方式 + 动词 + 宾语。例如:’我每天在学校认真学习中文。’

Forming questions correctly is a key skill. You will need to master yes/no questions with ‘吗’, wh-questions with question words, and alternative questions with ‘还是’. Note that ‘吗’ cannot be used with other question words.

正确构问是一项关键技能。您需要掌握用’吗’构成的一般疑问句、用疑问词构成的特指疑问句以及用’还是’构成的选择疑问句。注意’吗’不能与其他疑问词同时使用。

你是中学生吗? (Are you a secondary school student?)

你叫什么名字? (What is your name?)

你想吃中国菜还是英国菜? (Do you want to eat Chinese food or British food?)

Also revise question words like 怎么 (how), 为什么 (why), 几/多少 (how many), 哪儿/哪里 (where), and 什么时候 (when). Placing them correctly in a sentence is crucial for natural expression.

还要复习疑问词,如’怎么’、’为什么’、’几/多少’、’哪儿/哪里’以及’什么时候’。在句子中正确放置它们对于表达自然至关重要。

4. Aspect Particles: 了, 过, 着 | 体貌助词:了、过、着

The particles 了, 过, and 着 mark different aspects of an action. They do not indicate tense but rather the state of completion, experience, or continuation. Getting them right will dramatically improve the accuracy of your speaking and writing.

助词’了’、’过’和’着’标示动作的不同体貌。它们不表示时态,而是表示动作的完成、经历或持续状态。正确使用它们将极大提高您口语和写作的准确性。

‘了’ often appears after a verb to indicate a completed action, especially when the result is relevant to the present. It can also occur at the end of a sentence to signal a change of state or new situation. For example: ‘我吃了早饭。’ (I have eaten breakfast.) and ‘下雨了。’ (It is raining now – change.)

‘了’常出现在动词后,表示动作完成,尤其是其结果与现在有关。它也可用于句末,表示情况变化或新情况。例如:’我吃了早饭。’ 以及 ‘下雨了。’

‘过’ indicates an experience in the past, meaning someone has done something before. It often translates as ‘have done something before’. For example: ‘我去过中国。’ (I have been to China before.)

‘过’表示过去的经历,意思是一个人以前做过某事。常译为’have done something before’。例如:’我去过中国。’

‘着’ describes an ongoing state or a continuous action. It often follows verbs like ‘站’, ‘坐’, ‘放’, and ‘穿’. For example: ‘他穿着一件白色的T恤。’ (He is wearing a white T-shirt.) and ‘请坐着。’ (Please remain seated.)

‘着’描述持续的状态或进行中的动作。它常跟在’站’、’坐’、’放’、’穿’等动词后面。例如:’他穿着一件白色的T恤。’ 以及 ‘请坐着。’

A common mistake is overusing ‘了’ as a past-tense marker; remember it marks completion relative to context, not absolute time.

一个常见错误是把’了’当作过去时标志滥用;请记住它标示相对于语境的完成,而非绝对时间。

5. Complements: Result, Direction, and Potential | 补语:结果补语、趋向补语与可能补语

Chinese uses complements to add information about the result, direction, or possibility of an action. Mastering a few common ones will allow you to express yourself much more precisely.

中文用补语来补充说明动作的结果、方向或可能。掌握几个常用补语能让您的表达更加精确。

Result complements (结果补语) are formed by adding an adjective or a verb after the main verb to show the outcome. Common ones include 完 (finish), 懂 (understand), 错 (wrong), and 好 (properly). For example: ‘我做完作业了。’ (I finished my homework.) and ‘我听懂了老师的话。’ (I understood the teacher’s words.)

结果补语由主要动词后加形容词或动词构成,表示结果。常见的包括’完’、’懂’、’错’、’好’。例如:’我做完作业了。’ 以及 ‘我听懂了老师的话。’

Direction complements (趋向补语) use directional verbs like 来 (come) and 去 (go) after a movement verb, or compound forms like 进来, 出去, 上去, 下去. They can also be used figuratively: ‘坚持下去’ (persist on). For example: ‘他跑出去了。’ (He ran out.) and ‘我们一起走下去吧。’ (Let’s continue on together.)

趋向补语在移动动词后使用趋向动词如’来’、’去’,或复合形式’进来’、’出去’、’上去’、’下去’。也可用于引申义:’坚持下去’。例如:’他跑出去了。’ 以及 ‘我们一起走下去吧。’

Potential complements (可能补语) indicate the possibility or impossibility of achieving a result. They use 得/不 between the verb and the result or direction. For example: ‘我听得懂中文。’ (I can understand Chinese.) and ‘我记不住这么多汉字。’ (I cannot remember so many characters.)

可能补语表示实现结果的可能性或不可能性。它们在动词和结果或方向之间使用’得/不’。例如:’我听得懂中文。’ 以及 ‘我记不住这么多汉字。’

6. 把 (bǎ) and 被 (bèi) Constructions | ‘把’字句与’被’字句

The 把-construction is used to emphasise the disposal or result of an action on a specific object. It follows the pattern: Subject + 把 + Object + Verb + Other Element (complement or 了). This structure is extremely common in spoken and written Chinese and is a key higher-tier grammar point.

‘把’字句用来强调对特定事物的处置或动作结果。其结构为:主语 + 把 + 宾语 + 动词 + 其他成分(补语或’了’)。这个结构在口语和书面语中极为常见,是高级阶段的关键语法点。

请把书放在桌子上。 (Please put the book on the table.)

我把作业做完了。 (I finished my homework.)

Note that the object must be specific or definite, and a single bare verb (except in poetry) cannot end a 把-sentence; something must follow the verb.

注意,宾语必须是特指或定指的,且’把’字句不能以一个光杆动词结尾(诗歌除外);动词后必须带有其他成分。

The 被-construction expresses the passive voice. The pattern is: Subject + 被 (+ Agent) + Verb + Other Element. It often implies something negative, but not always. For example: ‘我的手机被偷了。’ (My mobile phone was stolen.) and ‘他被大家选为班长。’ (He was elected as class monitor by everyone.)

‘被’字句表示被动意义。结构为:主语 + 被(+施事者) + 动词 + 其他成分。常含有不如意的意味,但并非总是如此。例如:’我的手机被偷了。’ 以及 ‘他被大家选为班长。’

For GCSE, you are expected to recognise both structures in reading and listening, and to use them in writing and speaking to add sophistication.

在GCSE考试中,您需要能在阅读和听力中识别这两个结构,并在写作和口语中运用它们,以提升表达档次。

7. Making Comparisons and Describing Change | 比较与描述变化

Comparisons with 比 (bǐ) are straightforward: A + 比 + B + Adjective. To add degree, you can place 很多 (much), 一点儿 (a little), or 多了 (far more) after the adjective. You must never use ‘很’ in a 比-comparison.

用’比’进行比较很简单:A + 比 + B + 形容词。要添加程度,可以在形容词后加’很多’、’一点儿’或’多了’。但’比’字句中绝不能使用’很’。

我比他高。 (I am taller than him.)

今天比昨天冷得多。 (Today is much colder than yesterday.)

To express equality, use ‘A 跟/和 B 一样 (+ Adjective)’. For example: ‘我和我妹妹一样喜欢音乐。’ (My sister and I both like music equally.) ‘他的中文和我一样好。’ (His Chinese is as good as mine.)

表达同等,使用’A 跟/和 B 一样(+形容词)’。例如:’我和我妹妹一样喜欢音乐。’ ‘他的中文和我一样好。’

To describe change, ‘越来越 + Adjective’ (more and more …) and ‘更 + Adjective’ (even more …) are essential. For example: ‘天气越来越热了。’ (The weather is getting hotter and hotter.) and ‘我觉得阅读比听力更难。’ (I find reading even more difficult than listening.)

描述变化时,’越来越 + 形容词’和’更 + 形容词’是必备结构。例如:’天气越来越热了。’ 以及 ‘我觉得阅读比听力更难。’

Also revise the ‘A 比 B + Verb + 得 + Adjective’ pattern and the 除了…以外 structure for adding layers to comparisons.

还要复习’A 比 B + 动词 + 得 + 形容词’句型以及’除了…以外’结构,以增加比较的层次感。

8. Listening and Reading Strategies | 听力与阅读策略

Success in the listening and reading papers depends on vocabulary knowledge and smart exam techniques. For listening, always read the questions before the audio begins, so you know what to listen for. Focus on keywords rather than trying to understand every single word. Beware of distractors—speakers often change or correct information.

在听力和阅读试卷中取得成功,既靠词汇知识,也靠聪明的应试技巧。对于听力,一定要在音频开始前阅读问题,明确需要听取的信息。重点抓关键词,而不要试图听懂每个字。警惕干扰项——说话人常常会改变或纠正信息。

Dictation-style questions in the listening paper require you to write down pinyin or characters for certain words. Practise spelling high-frequency words in pinyin accurately, paying attention to tones.

听力试卷中的听写题型要求您写出某些词语的拼音或汉字。练习准确拼写高频词的拼音,注意声调。

In the reading paper, scan the text quickly for familiar characters and words before reading in detail. Translation into English demands accuracy; ensure you render the Chinese meaning naturally, not word-for-word. For longer texts, break them into smaller chunks and use context to infer unfamiliar terms.

在阅读试卷中,先快速扫读文章寻找熟悉的汉字和词语,然后再细致阅读。英译汉要求准确,确保将中文意思自然译出,而非逐字硬译。对于较长的文本,将其拆解成更小的语块,并利用上下文推断不熟悉的词语。

Regular timed practice with past papers will sharpen your speed and help you become familiar with AQA’s question style.

定期进行限时的真题练习,能提高您的速度,并帮助您熟悉AQA的出题风格。

9. Speaking: Role-play, Photo Card, and General Conversation | 口语:角色扮演、图片卡片与一般对话

The speaking exam is conducted by your teacher and has three parts. In the role-play, you are given a scenario (e.g., buying a ticket) and must respond naturally. Prepare by practising transactional language, polite expressions, and simple questions. Always listen carefully to the teacher’s prompt and answer fully; a one-word reply is never enough for higher marks.

口语考试由您的老师主持,分为三个部分。在角色扮演中,您会得到一个场景(如买票),需自然地做出回应。通过练习交易用语、礼貌表达和简单问句来备考。仔细聆听老师的提示并充分作答;在高分要求下,一个字的回答是远远不够的。

The photo card asks you to describe a photo and answer related questions. Structure your description by naming people and objects, describing positions (上面, 下面, 左边), and adding an opinion or experience. For example: ‘照片里有一个男孩和一个女孩,他们在公园里放风筝。我觉得他们很开心,因为我以前也放过风筝。’ (In the photo there is a boy and a girl; they are flying a kite in the park. I think they are very happy because I have flown a kite before.)

图片卡片要求您描述一张照片并回答相关问题。描述时可以采用以下结构:说出人物和物体,描述方位(上面、下面、左边),并加入观点或经历。例如:“照片里有一个男孩和一个女孩,他们在公园里放风筝。我觉得他们很开心,因为我以前也放过风筝。”

The general conversation covers two themes, one of which you choose in advance. Prepare extended answers, opinions, justifications, and a range of tenses or aspects (past experience with 过, completed action with 了, future plans with 要/会). Use connectives like 因为 (because), 所以 (so), 虽然 (although), and 但是 (but) to extend your responses.

一般对话覆盖两个主题,其中一个由您提前选定。准备扩展回答、观点、理由,以及多样的时态/体态(用’过’表达经历、用’了’表达完成、用’要/会’表达计划)。使用连接词,如’因为’、’所以’、’虽然’、’但是’来扩展您的回应。

10. Writing: Characters and Structured Responses | 写作:汉字与结构化回应

The writing paper tests your ability to produce characters from memory and compose coherent, grammatically sound texts. Foundation candidates write short sentences and a short paragraph. Higher candidates must produce longer pieces and a translation into Chinese. Practise writing the most common 250–300 characters by hand; focus on stroke order and basic radicals to help memorisation.

写作试卷考查您凭记忆书写汉字和构思连贯、语法正确篇章的能力。基础级考生需要写短句和一段短文,高级考生则需撰写更长篇幅和一段中译。坚持手写练习最常见的250至300个汉字,注意笔顺和基本部首,以辅助记忆。

For structured tasks, always read the bullet points carefully and ensure you address each one fully. Expand with opinions, examples, and connectives. In the Higher tier, you are rewarded for using a variety of structures, such as 把-construction, 被-construction, comparisons, and different complements.
