📚 KS3 CCEA French: Vocabulary & Terminology Quick Memorization Guide | KS3 CCEA 法语:词汇术语速记指南

Mastering French at Key Stage 3 means building a strong foundation in vocabulary and essential terminology. This guide covers the core word groups prescribed by CCEA, paired with proven memory shortcuts to help you recall them fast. From greetings and family to food, hobbies, and key verbs, every term is presented with a simple English explanation followed by its Chinese equivalent, so you always know exactly what you are learning and why it matters.

在第三关键阶段掌握法语意味着打下扎实的词汇和关键术语基础。本指南覆盖了 CCEA 指定必学的核心词群,并配以行之有效的记忆捷径,助你快速牢记。从日常问候、家庭、食物、爱好到核心动词,每个术语都先给出简明的英文解释,再附上中文对应,让你始终清楚自己在学什么、为什么重要。

1. Greetings & Introductions | 问候与自我介绍

The first step in French conversation is knowing how to say hello, goodbye, and introduce yourself. CCEA expects you to handle both formal and informal situations, so pay attention to when to use ‘tu’ or ‘vous’.

法语对话的第一步是学会如何打招呼、道别和自我介绍。CCEA 要求你能够应对正式与非正式场合,因此务必注意何时用 tu(你)或 vous(您/你们)。

English French 中文
Hello / Good day Bonjour 你好 / 日安
Good evening Bonsoir 晚上好
Hi (informal) Salut
How are you? Comment ça va ? 你好吗?
I’m fine, thank you. Ça va bien, merci. 我很好,谢谢。
Goodbye Au revoir 再见
What’s your name? Comment tu t’appelles ? 你叫什么名字?
My name is… Je m’appelle… 我叫……
Nice to meet you Enchanté(e) 很高兴认识你

Memory tip: Think of ‘Bonjour’ as a bow of sunlight in the morning – ‘bon’ sounds like ‘bonny’ (good) and ‘jour’ means day. Salut is short and casual, just like a wave to a friend. Repeat the question ‘Comment ça va ?’ with a rising tone to mimic the French rhythm.

记忆窍门:把 Bonjour 想象成清晨的一束阳光——bon 听起来像“棒”,jour 是“日子”。Salut 简短随意,就像对朋友的一次挥手。用上扬语调反复练读 Comment ça va ?,模仿法语节奏。

2. Family & Friends | 家庭与朋友

Describing your family and talking about relationships are essential skills. CCEA expects you to know immediate family members, some pets, and simple possessive structures like ‘mon’ and ‘ma’.

描述家庭和谈论人际关系是必备技能。CCEA 要求你掌握直系亲属、部分宠物的说法,以及 mon(我的,阳性)、ma(我的,阴性)等简单所有格结构。

English French 中文
mother une mère 母亲
father un père 父亲
brother un frère 兄弟
sister une sœur 姐妹
grandfather un grand-père 祖父 / 外祖父
grandmother une grand-mère 祖母 / 外祖母
friend (male) un ami 男性朋友
friend (female) une amie 女性朋友
dog un chien
cat un chat

Memory tip: Many family words share roots with English – ‘mère’ sounds like ‘maternal’, ‘père’ like ‘paternal’, and ‘frère’ like ‘fraternal’. For ‘ami’ and ‘amie’, simply add an extra ‘e’ to make it feminine, just as you would add an ‘e’ to many adjectives. Visualise ‘un chien’ by linking it to the English word ‘canine’.

记忆窍门:很多亲属词汇与英语同源——mère 像 maternal,père 像 paternal,frère 像 fraternal。ami 和 amie,阳性守原形,阴性加 e,和许多形容词的规则一样。用英语 canine(犬)联想 chien。

3. School Life | 学校生活

CCEA’s KS3 programme includes school subjects, classroom objects, and typical phrases used by teachers. Understanding these words helps you follow instructions and talk about your timetable.

CCEA 的第三阶段课程涵盖学校科目、教室物品和教师常用语。掌握这些词能帮助你听懂指示并谈论自己的课表。

English French 中文
school une école 学校
teacher un professeur / une professeure 老师
pupil un élève / une élève 学生
book un livre
pen un stylo
notebook / exercise book un cahier 练习本
maths les mathématiques 数学
English l’anglais 英语
French le français 法语
science les sciences 科学
history l’histoire 历史
timetable un emploi du temps 时间表 / 课表

Memory tip: ‘Livre’ sounds like ‘library’ – that is where you find books. ‘Stylo’ is close to ‘stylus’, a pen-like tool. ‘Cahier’ is tricky; imagine a handwritten ‘cahier’ full of exercises and remember the soft French ‘r’ at the end. For ’emploi du temps’, think of ’employment of time’ – your time filled with lessons.

记忆窍门:livre 像 library,那正是找到书的地方。Stylo 接近 stylus(触控笔)。cahier 不好记,想象一本写满练习题的 cahier,同时记住末尾轻柔的 r 音。emploi du temps,字面意思是“时间的雇用”,课表正是预定你的时间。

4. Food & Drink | 食物与饮料

Food vocabulary appears frequently in CCEA tasks, from ordering in a café to describing meals. Learning both masculine and feminine nouns and the partitive article (‘du’, ‘de la’) is essential.

食物词汇在 CCEA 任务中出现频率极高,从咖啡馆点餐到描述一日三餐。必须学会名词的阴阳性以及部分冠词(du, de la)。

English French 中文
bread du pain (m) 面包
croissant un croissant (m) 羊角面包
cheese du fromage (m) 奶酪
apple une pomme (f) 苹果
orange (fruit) une orange (f) 橙子
water de l’eau (f)
orange juice du jus d’orange (m) 橙汁
coffee un café (m) 咖啡
tea du thé (m)
milk du lait (m) 牛奶

Memory tip: Many food words are already close to English: ‘fromage’ (fro-mahzh) sounds like ‘fromage’ in ‘fromage frais’; ‘pomme’ looks like ‘pome’ meaning apple in old English; ‘thé’ is almost identical to ‘tea’. To remember the gender, picture bread (‘pain’) as masculine because the loaf has a strong shape, while ‘pomme’ is feminine, round and delicate.

记忆窍门:许多食物词与英语相近:fromage 来自 fromage frais 的发音;pomme 看起来像古英语的 pome(苹果);thé 几乎就是 tea。要记住词性,想象面包(pain)形状结实为阳性,而苹果(pomme)圆润精致为阴性。

5. Hobbies & Leisure | 爱好与休闲

Talking about what you like to do is key for speaking and writing assessments. CCEA expects you to use ‘j’aime’ + infinitive and to name common activities.

谈论你喜欢做什么是口语和写作评估的关键。CCEA 要求你会用 j’aime(我喜欢)+ 动词原形,并能说出常见活动名称。

English French 中文
to read lire 阅读
to watch TV regarder la télé 看电视
to play (sports/games) jouer à 玩 / 打(球类等)
to play football jouer au foot 踢足球
to listen to music écouter de la musique 听音乐
to go out with friends sortir avec des amis 和朋友出去
to dance danser 跳舞
to do cycling faire du vélo 骑自行车
I like… j’aime 我喜欢……
I don’t like… je n’aime pas 我不喜欢……

Memory tip: ‘Jouer’ always pairs with ‘à’ when followed by a sport or game: jouer au foot, jouer aux cartes. Think of ‘à’ as the ball or object you play with. ‘Faire du vélo’ literally means ‘do some cycling’, where ‘faire’ works like ‘do’ in English. Build sentences like a Lego set: ‘j’aime’ + infinitive = I like to + activity.

记忆窍门:Jouer 后接体育运动时一定搭配 à:jouer au foot。想象 à 就是你所玩的球或物件。Faire du vélo 字面意思是“做一些骑自行车”,faire 等同于英语 do。像搭乐高一样造句:j’aime + 动词原形。

6. Weather & Seasons | 天气与季节

Describing the weather is a standard CCEA speaking topic. You will often use ‘il fait’, ‘il y a’, or ‘le temps est…’ structures.

描述天气是 CCEA 口语的常规话题,你经常要用到 il fait(天气……)、il y a(有……)或 le temps est… 等结构。

English French 中文
It’s sunny Il fait du soleil / Il y a du soleil 天气晴朗
It’s raining Il pleut 下雨
It’s hot Il fait chaud 天气热
It’s cold Il fait froid 天气冷
It’s windy Il y a du vent 有风
spring le printemps 春天
summer l’été 夏天
autumn l’automne 秋天
winter l’hiver 冬天

Memory tip: The verb ‘pleuvoir’ (to rain) stands alone: ‘Il pleut’ is enough – no ‘il fait’ needed. For ‘il fait’, think of ‘it makes’ (the weather makes it hot/cold). Seasons are all masculine, so use ‘en été’ (in summer), ‘au printemps’. Printemps looks like ‘prime time’ – a fresh new start.

记忆窍门:动词 pleuvoir(下雨)独立存在,il pleut 就够了,不需要 il fait。把 il fait 想成“天气造成”冷热。季节全是阳性,因此用 en été(在夏天),au printemps。Printemps 像英语 prime time,万物新始。

7. Numbers, Dates & Time | 数字、日期与时间

Numbers underpin prices, ages, dates and time, all of which appear in CCEA assessments. Learn them in clusters for faster recall.

数字支撑着价格、年龄、日期和时间,这些在 CCEA 评估中都会出现。分块学习可以加快回忆。

Number French 中文
1 un / une
2 deux
3 trois
10 dix
20 vingt 二十
30 trente 三十
What time is it? Quelle heure est-il ? 几点了?
It’s two o’clock Il est deux heures 两点钟
Monday lundi 星期一
January janvier 一月

Memory tip: Numbers 1–10 are the building blocks; learn them by rhythm – ‘un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix’. For time, always use ‘Il est’ +
