This quick‑reference handbook sets out the core grammatical ‘formulas’ needed for the Year 12 CIE German exam. Each rule is expressed as a compact theorem, illustrated with worked examples, so that you can revise efficiently and apply the patterns accurately in your writing and speaking.

本速查手册列出了 Year 12 CIE 德语考试所需的核心语法“公式”。每一条规则都用一个紧凑的定理形式呈现,并配有实例演算,帮助你高效复习,在写作和口语中准确套用句型。

1. Main Clause Word Order Theorem | 主句语序定理

In a declarative main clause, the conjugated verb must occupy the second position. The first position can be occupied by the subject, an adverb, a time phrase, or almost any other element – but the verb remains second.

在陈述主句中,变位动词必须处在第二位。第一位可以放主语、副词、时间短语或其他成分,但动词永远留在第二位。

Formula: (Element 1) + verb⁺ + Subject + …

公式: (成分1) + 动词⁺ + 主语 + …

Ich gehe heute ins Kino. → Heute gehe ich ins Kino.

我今天去电影院。→ 今天我去电影院。

2. Verb‑Second Constraint with Coordinating Conjunctions | 并列连词后的动词二位约束

After the coordinating conjunctions und, aber, oder, denn, sondern, the word order resets to normal main‑clause order: the verb still comes second in the clause that follows the conjunction.

在并列连词 und, aber, oder, denn, sondern 之后,语序恢复为正常的主句语序:连词所在的分句里动词仍然处在第二位。

Ich lerne Deutsch und ich schreibe einen Aufsatz. (Not: und ich einen Aufsatz schreibe.)

我学习德语,而且我写一篇文章。(不说:und ich einen Aufsatz schreibe。)

3. Subordinate Clause Word‑Order Rule | 从句语序法则

All subordinating conjunctions (e.g. weil, dass, wenn, als, obwohl, damit, sodass) push the conjugated verb to the very end of the clause.

所有从属连词 (如 weil, dass, wenn, als, obwohl, damit, sodass ) 都把变位动词推到从句的最后位置。

Formula: …, conjunction + Subject + … + verb⁺.

公式: …, 连词 + 主语 + … + 动词⁺。

Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich krank bin.

我待在家里,因为我生病了。

When a subordinate clause comes first, the main clause starts with the verb. Example: Als ich jung war, spielte ich viel Fußball.

当从句位于句首时,主句以动词开头。例:当我小的时候,我踢很多足球。

4. TMP Adverbial Order (Time – Manner – Place) | 时间 – 方式 – 地点状语顺序

When multiple adverbials appear in the Mittelfeld (middle of the clause), German prefers the sequence Time (when?) – Manner (how?) – Place (where?).

当多个状语处在句子中部 (Mittelfeld) 时,德语倾向于按 时间 (何时?) – 方式 (如何?) – 地点 (何处?) 排序。

Formula: Subject + Verb + Time + Manner + Place + …

公式: 主语 + 动词 + 时间 + 方式 + 地点 + …

Ich bin gestern (Time) mit dem Bus (Manner) zur Schule (Place) gefahren.

我昨天坐公交车去了学校。

5. Case‑Governed Preposition Formulas | 格支配介词公式

Prepositions in German govern a fixed case. Learn them as mathematical functions: f(preposition) = case.

德语的介词支配固定的格。把它们当作数学函数来记忆:f(介词) = 格。

Accusative-only: durch, für, gegen, ohne, um, bis, entlang → f(prep) = Accusative

纯接第四格: durch, für, gegen, ohne, um, bis, entlang → 支配第四格

Dative-only: aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu, gegenüber, ab → f(prep) = Dative

纯接第三格: aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu, gegenüber, ab → 支配第三格

Two‑Way (Accusative vs Dative): an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen. Rule: motion → Accusative (Wohin?), location → Dative (Wo?).

可以接第四格或第三格的: an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen。规律:运动方向 → 第四格 (Wohin?),静止位置 → 第三格 (Wo?)。

Ich hänge das Bild an die Wand (Akk). → Das Bild hängt an der Wand (Dat).

我把画挂到墙上 (Akk)。→ 画挂在墙上 (Dat)。

6. Adjective Ending Decision Trees | 形容词词尾判断公式

Adjective endings depend on three factors: (1) the gender of the noun, (2) the case, (3) whether a determiner (definite, indefinite, or no article) precedes the adjective.

形容词词尾取决于三个因素:(1) 名词的性,(2) 格,(3) 前面的限定词 (定冠词、不定冠词或无冠词)。

Use the following ‘look‑up’ theorem for the most common patterns:

使用以下“查表”定理来覆盖最常见的模式:

Article type Nominative Accusative Dative Genitive
Definite (der‑,dies‑,welch‑) ‑e (m/f/n), ‑en (pl) ‑en (m), ‑e (f/n), ‑en (pl) ‑en (all) ‑en (all)

7. Tense Formation Formulas | 时态构成公式

Each German tense can be expressed as a simple formula with the right auxiliary and participle.

每一个德语时态都可以用一个包含助动词和分词的简单公式来表示。

Present: stem + personal endings (‑e, ‑st, ‑t, ‑en, ‑t, ‑en)

现在时: 词干 + 人称词尾 (‑e, ‑st, ‑t, ‑en, ‑t, ‑en)

Present Perfect: haben/sein (present) + past participle (ge‑…‑t/‑en)

现在完成时: haben/sein (现在时) + 第二分词 (ge‑…‑t/‑en)

Simple Past (Preterite): weak: stem + ‑te‑ + endings; strong: stem vowel change + endings

一般过去时: 弱变化:词干 + ‑te‑ + 人称词尾;强变化:词干元音变化 + 词尾

Future: werden (present) + infinitive (at the end)

将来时: werden (现在时) + 不定式 (在句末)

Pluperfect: haben/sein (simple past) + past participle

过去完成时: haben/sein (一般过去时) + 第二分词

Er hat das Buch gelesen. (Perfekt) – Er las das Buch. (Präteritum)

他读了这本书。(完成时) – 他读这本书。(过去时)

8. Modal Verb Frame | 情态动词框架定理

Modal verbs (können, müssen, wollen, dürfen, sollen, mögen) function as the ‘executive’ verbs: the modal verb is conjugated and placed in second position (main clause) or at the end (subordinate clause), while the main verb appears as an infinitive at the end of the clause.

情态动词 (können, müssen, wollen, dürfen, sollen, mögen) 充当“执行”动词:情态动词变位后放在第二位 (主句) 或从句的末尾,而实义动词以不定式形式位于句末。

Formula: Subject + modal verb (V2) + … + infinitive.

公式: 主语 + 情态动词 (V2) + … + 不定式。

Ich kann sehr gut schwimmen. – Subordinate: …, weil ich gut schwimmen kann.

我游泳游得很好。– 从句:…, 因为我游得很好。

9. Passive Voice Transformation | 被动态转换公式

The passive is formed with werden + past participle. The subject of the active sentence becomes the agent (introduced by von + dative) and the accusative object becomes the new subject.

被动态由 werden + 第二分词构成。主动句的主语变为施动者 (由 von + 第三格引出),而原来的第四格宾语变为新的主语。

Active: Subject + active verb + Accusative object.

主动: 主语 + 主动动词 + 第四格宾语。

Passive (present): Subject (← former Akk. obj.) + werden (conjugated) + past participle.

被动态 (现在时): 主语 (← 原第四格宾语) + werden (变位) + 第二分词。

Der Schüler schreibt den Brief. → Der Brief wird (von dem Schüler) geschrieben.

学生写信。→ 信 (由学生) 写了。

Remember: werden delivers passive; sein + past participle is the stative passive (result): Der Brief ist geschrieben (the letter is written – state).

注意:werden 表示过程被动态;sein + 第二分词构成状态被动态 (结果):Der Brief ist geschrieben (信已写好——状态)。

10. Konjunktiv II (Subjunctive) Formula | 虚拟式 II 公式

Konjunktiv II is used for hypothetical situations, polite requests, and expressing wishes. Its standard formation is: simple past stem + umlaut (if possible) + ‑e, ‑est, ‑e, ‑en, ‑et, ‑en.

虚拟式 II 用于非现实假设、礼貌请求和表达愿望。其标准构成为:一般过去时词干 + 元音变音 (如可能) + ‑e, ‑est, ‑e, ‑en, ‑et, ‑en。

Formula: würden + infinitive (most common) or single‑verb form for haben, sein, and the modal verbs.

公式: würden + 不定式 (最常用) 或 haben、sein 及情态动词的单动词形式。

Wenn ich viel Geld hätte, würde ich ein Auto kaufen.

如果我有许多钱,我就会买一辆车。

Ich wäre gern in Berlin. – Ich könnte dir helfen.

我真想在柏林。– 我本可以帮你。

11. Comparative and Superlative Construction | 比较级与最高级公式

Adjectives form the comparative by adding ‑er and the superlative by adding ‑st or ‑est. The comparative is followed by als (than), and the superlative used predicatively takes am … ‑sten.

形容词的比较级加 ‑er,最高级加 ‑st‑est。比较级后接 als (比),做表语的最高级用 am … ‑sten

Formula: Adj + ‑er/‑st (with possible umlaut on a, o, u for short adjectives).

公式: 形容词 + ‑er/‑st (部分短形容词 a, o, u 要变音)。

schnell – schneller – am schnellsten. groß – größer – am größten.

快 – 更快 – 最快。大 – 更大 – 最大。

Er läuft schneller als ich. – Sie ist am schnellsten.

他跑得比我快。– 她是最快的。

12. Negation Placement Rules | 否定词位置定理

The negative word nicht usually stands directly before the element it negates, but if it negates the whole predicate, it goes to the end of the Mittelfeld, just before the fixed verb parts (infinitive, past participle, separable prefix).

否定词 nicht 通常放在它所否定的成分前面;如果否定整个谓语,则放在中部的最后位置,就在固定动词部分 (不定式、第二分词、可分前缀) 之前。

Formula: Subject + Verb + … + nicht + (remaining verb parts).

公式: 主语 + 动词 + … + nicht + (其余动词部分)。

Ich verstehe die Frage nicht. – Ich habe das Buch nicht gelesen.

我不明白这个问题。– 我没有读这本书。

When the negation targets a specific piece of information, nicht precedes it: Nicht ich habe das gesagt, sondern er.

当否定针对某个特定信息时,nicht 前置:不是我说了这话,而是他。
