In Cambridge IGCSE French, there is no laboratory experiment, but the practical assessment is the speaking test. This oral component rewards your ability to use French spontaneously in role plays, presentations and conversation. The Cambridge IGCSE French speaking test is the practical component and usually lasts around 10 to 12 minutes. It counts for 25% of the total qualification and has three parts: Role Play, Topic Presentation and Conversation, and General Conversation. Before the test, you receive about 10 to 15 minutes of preparation time, during which you can read the role play card and plan your topic.
